The food here is absolutely delicious! I find it hard to choose from the menu because everything sounds good and the many things that I have actually tried were bloody good. Friendly service and a nice cosy atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!

1st thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell. Not a great one. Old food and drink smell. Unaired smell. Staff are very friendly and very helpful and good serviceThe menu reads as if is should be incredible. But of the four dishes we ordered only one was worth mentioning - the home made ravioli stuffed with lobster and crab. Really delicious. Not sure I would go back again .

Food was very average and I think I was overcharged which I only figured out after I left. My steak was cooked beside my partners fish which was concerning because I am allergic to fish and could taste it. Nice bar but wouldn’t recommend for food

Food was bland. The kids burgers way over cooked & didn’t come as asked.

Food is great, service is terrible. Has to ask for table water twice; they didn’t know who’s steak was who’s, the wines came after the entrees, we weren’t offered dessert at all and we could of left without paying with one of the waitresses telling us to have a great night on the way out. The staff were all chatting behind the bar and weren’t paying attention. Saving the business from annihilation is the food.

Food was yummy, sticky ribs were tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. We would recommend this place. Great cheap lunch time specials too. It has a nice fit out too.

Staff were understanding about the delay of half our party but they weren’t terribly busy. Service was slow and unclear whether we order and pay at the bar or at our table for 13. Good drinks though and good value for money on the food from express lunch menu.

Loved our dinner at the Cookhouse. We had steak, barramundi and gnocchi. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Happy hour was a bonus. The Scottish waitress was so cheerful. Definitely an asset to the Cookhouse. My only complaint, its noisy when full.

Very short on staff we had to walk around and wait for our table in the end we just guessed our table and sat down as there was one girl serving the 3-4 tables already there. Toilets not very clean. Tills not working so had to go up to the bar ourselves every time we wanted a drink.

I love this historic building, where a number of restaurants have operated over the years. This one seems to be thriving. We enjoyed everything except the tasteless French fries! Service & ambience were good.

Comfortable dining with space between tables We had the special Sunday roast. Good value and plentiful. Polite staff and reasonably priced wine. Will be back
