Sicily Mare Pizzeria

As a local at Aldinga and have enjoyed multiple meals here in the past. Unfortunately last night we were very disappointed. As an entree we ordered the Murinciani and that was nice but still average. We also ordered the olives as part of our entrees. It stated on the menu, marinated in red wine vinegar, olive oil, fennel seeds and chilli. They were not, there was no flavour but olive oil. The olives were just regular olives you buy from the deli section at Woolworths/ Coles. We ordered 3 pizzas, our son enjoyed the margarita and the prosciutto was ok, the campagna was very disappointing. Having this pizza many times in the past. It use to come with a nice spread of the fennel sausage bit like a crumb of just the sausage meat and a good spread of the remaining toppings. The pizza last night had sausage pieces cut in half and the pizza also states it has Gorgonzola, well ours only had two little bits of Gorgonzola on the whole pizza. Lastly the dessert, we ordered a Cannolu- pistachio/ricotta. That was not edible and did send these back. The pastry was hard and tasted burnt the filling was- I can only describe it as stodgy. I’m sorry Sicily, you were great at some point in your time. I’m not sure what has happened the quality has gone down a lot and considering we paid over $230 for our whole meal and drinks, it was definitely a disappointment.

Can’t beat wood oven pizza and Italian red wine by the beach!

Entree arrived after the pizzas, wrong beer brought to the table, below average experience I’m afraid, especially after eating here before and had a lovely experience

Pizza was meh they came out so quick we asked for Campari spritz ,the water who’s English was not his mother language made them but had made them incorrectly with chinotto instead of sparkling wine and super strong they weren’t even drinkable they came well after our food had arrived my pizza was out in two seconds and was cold when it arrived the saving grace was that the ice cream was good unfortunately this isn’t high on lists of places we will be returning in flereiu peninsula

Food was really great. My only gripe would be Mum and dad ordered pizza and I ordered a roasted meat dish. The chef didnt consider the timing of the dishes because tbeir pizza came out super fast and I was left waiting for ages. They just finished their pizzas when my meal arrived. Not good really.

We arrived and said we had a booking and gave our name. We were then told to just sit at any table of 4..we then said..oh no sorry, the booking was for a table of 7. We were then told ok, it should be find to just sit on a bigger table. The food was delicious, however the service definitely lacked alot - took a long time to be served, the staff were very slow and didn't appear to want to be there.

Most dishes including salad far too salty. Pizza ok. Service ok.

Food was good, a bit under staffed but they did a good job. A few things unavailable on the menu which was disappointing but what we had was good.

We love this place . It is close to our home and it has the most authentic itallian pizza and food ive eaten anywhere ! Bonus ! Great casual vibe , you can turn up without a booking and be fed - and always well ! They cope with large groups easily. Do yourself a favour and order desert - the canoli and tiramisu are worth it.
