Bustling establishment. great selection of craft beers. Food was good & was on the table without too much of a wait. Sat in the main area where they bands etc play later in evening. Light & plenty of room between tables. Good outdoor / beer garden area as well.

We had an enjoyable meal; great food, service and atmosphere. We would certainly recommend The Republic and look forward to visiting again.

Cracking venue with great food. Can't understand why it wasn't more busy. Live music was awesome too - great night all round really.

We all enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and generous serves. The decor and lighting could be more atmospheric but overall everyone was happy with the service and food.

Great service from young bloke at bar. Good vibe for a Monday night and great fried chicken burger and banjo! Crispy duck was missing its crunchy skin but the rest made up for it!

The Meal was amazing . The Fish of the day with potatoes and stir fry veggies. Service was good. Good choice of beers and wines.

The music is always fantastic. The food on the Republic’s menu is very good and reasonably priced. I didn’t eat the lamb at the bbq...too fatty for me, but the salads were very tasty!

Friendly staff. Good food and beers on tap. Vegan and vegetarian options. Quick service. All meals arrived together. Staff wore Changethedate bandanas on Australia Day which I thought was great silent call for action.

Delicious food, good music, great cozy atmosphere and wonderful customer service. Have dined here many times and it never disappoints. Looking forward to coming back again and again.

Disappointing food wise ;( We were there. For the Hobart Hot August Jazz event, ordered early, knowing it was going to busy up- meeting at 12 with our friends and the place was quite empty. I ordered scallops which were good with a pea purée. However the other 3 in the party ordered carbonara which was served lukewarm and under cooked. We mentioned this to the waitress who seemed to brush us off, with you should have said something earlier. The Jazz was good, but I wouldn’t rush back for the food

Still a great pub. One of Hobart's best. A great combination of good food, good service and an excellent atmosphere. Can't recommend it highly enough.

The food was fantastic. I had an entree of calamari as a main - it was really good. I had a side of vegies, which was huge and had the most wonderful sauce. I would like the recipie. My husband had steak and he said it was really tender and cooked just like he asked for. Pub atmosphere but worth going for the food.

Wing Wednesday $15 for 1kg if the tastiest wings. Only complaint maybe a dipping sauce or two. Like a blue cheese and a sweet chilli

Enjoyed the food, enough choice but not being over the top. Also enough choices of beverage. The atmosphere is always friendly, has a good vibe.

Music was great. Food good and generous portions. We enjoyed the meal, the bubbly and especially the performer- my kind of music: wonderful guitar picking and recognizable songs.

Great service. Food OK but good value. Atmosphere is a little spartan and noisy. The specials board offered a good selection of nice meals that added to the offerings on the menu.

A good place for a team lunch. The express lunch menu is reasonably priced and offers a decent range of options. Overall a good venue.

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in the outdoor area. We hadn't eaten there before and it was a very comfortable spot to be. The food was hot, tasty and presented well. We will definitely be returning for lunch again soon.

Great local pub in the heart of Hobart. Menu and food is fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall fantastic atmosphere and experience. A great "local" pub.

Friendly service and the meals are prepared quickly with no loss of quality even when the venue is busy. Great food with excellent deserts and a good children's menu.

Service is fast and the food is always excellent. Make sure you are hungry because the serving sizes are large. Have dinner and stay on to watch a band for a good night out but make sure you book as it gets busy on the week end.
