Okami - Mornington

The food was delicious but everything is done by QR code now which is ok but then it's hard to get anyone's attention if you actually need help. So overall the food was great but the service feels cold and unwelcoming.

Very noisy but popular place to eat so expected. It was an unusually hot night and we asked to move outside to have dessert but were told no which was annoying as we had sweated through the meal time, our table was in the corner! Food was amazing but service a little slow.

Our food portions were small. The temperature of the food was just warm - nothing was hot! And I don’t think that it was worth the money, it’s overpriced especially as the portions are so small!

We were there at lunchtime so it wasn’t as busy as it can be for dinner so the service was great.

Ended up cancelling our last round of food as it was taking way too long. I never ended up getting the drink I ordered. Multiple people around were complaining about the same thing.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, price was fantastic. A couple items we ordered never came to the table but it's understandable due to the volume of food, will definitely be back!

Valentines day expected a small gift but none. Asked for a quiet table, but they wanted to put us next to the front desk! Some of the food was cold. Huge queue to get in the front door. Disappointing, we won't be back

The waiters were very friendly but the service wasn’t great as the restaurant was very busy and you were clearly understaffed Food was nice but did also wait close to 40 mins for one last dish

Always loved coming here but this night was disappointing. Had the red “service” sign on show and took 25minutes for anyone to take our first order after being seated. Felt like they tried their hardest not to make eye contact so they could ignore the need to take an order. Got the wrong food a couple of times, didn’t receive numerous dishes that we had ordered.

Six of use, including two children had a very nice time and the food was generally well received (first time for your style of food for a couple of our fellow guests). The variety of your cuisine helped satisfy all tastes. It has been about three years since two of us visited your restaurant and was a little disappointed that the 'all you can eat' options have reduced considerably since then. This 'took the 'shine off' for two of us.

The steaks, prawn gyoza and salads we're fresher and cooked better than usual today. If Sweet and Sour Pork and another Chinese dish could be added to the menu like Korean ones did, that would be perfect.

It's good with the self ordering so you don't waste time getting attention to order. The beef carpaccio seems to be pre cut and refrigerated which dries it out (dehidrates) and is too cold

This was our third time at Okami's Restaurant. The food and the service were amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were running about 30 min late, and it wasn't a problem to change our reservation by half an hour. Would not hesitate to recommend Okami Restaurant. Look forward to going back.

We had four family with us and most of the food was quite ok . We all disliked the gyoza and also the shui mai dumplings . The quality of both was very ordinary

It was crazy busy and super noisy. Not unexpected for this time of year I suppose but something has to be done about the squeaky chairs in the floor!

Our table of 4 arrived to a very busy restaurant. When we sat down no one came to our table to explain how to order food, but there was a QR code for the table so we all got out our phones and proceeded to order, not knowing that we should of ordered off just one phone. We waited and we waited, one persons meals come out. But we continued to wait for the other 3. We had expected to have at least 12 different plates of food. We continued to wait as we could see how busy they were, no one noticed that we didn’t have any food in front of us or approached our table to ask if we were ok or if there was anything they can help with. As the restaurant started to empty, we had to ask. So we asked what would be taking so long for our meals to come out. The lady went back to the kitchen and come back out, explaining that there was nothing in the kitchen waiting to come out for this table. That’s when we finally learned how to order food. No instructions, no one explained anything to us before we waited over an hour and half for our food. Then finally as our food came out we had to eat very quickly as the restaurant was then closing up. Not a very good experience for my friend’s birthday.

Limited menu for vegetarians after the changes made! The food has become very average in variety presentation and choice

The service was excellent, the only thing was disappointing was the sushi & sashimi plate, everything else were perfect.

Just really very much an ‘all you can eat’ no frills eating experience…. I feel like oksmi is the McDonakds of Japanese food. Beef carpaccio was lovely As was the sashimi. Unfortunately nothing else was very nice. The QR code would not let us order soup. And our last dish never arrived but was in the receipt.

Staff were lovely and working very hard - but there were some huge problems with service and food delivery. We ordered on QR code and food didn’t come - we got some but not all - we ended up leaving as it was so disorganised… not a good experience for an all you can eat

Excellent service always love coming to Mornington Okami - the team did a wonderful job on New Year’s Eve dealing with silly people well done team my partner and I had a wonderful time tonight celebrating the last night of 2024 only thing I’d recommend is not having an online booking service if you aren’t going to reserved tables 😊

I really wasn’t impressed with the food. I understand it’s all you can eat but it seemed cheap and not very flavourful. The beef dishes all lacked seasoning. And the chefs nigiri sushi was disgusting. The tea we ordered was really disappointing too, 1 green tea bag for two people is a bit lame. The crab I’m pretty sure was imitation but it said real crab on the menu. I honestly don’t think I will ever go to another okami or recommend it to anyone else.

Overall good dinning experience, quality and consistence of food has declined since it first opened.
