The tables were sticky and dirty. Chairs were very ripped and uncomfortable. There was much confusion between 2 staff members about ordering dessert and we received more alcohol than we ordered. There were only a couple of waiters on the floor and the one who looked after us was rude and dismissive, constantly pointing us to the ordering IPAD and ignoring us the rest of the evening. The food was poorly prepared with the meat courses very, very tough We will NEVER come back for a family party to this Footscray store.

the staff were nice, and they also have now the automated order. but the areival of order takes a long time. we have to follow up a couple of orders multiple times like the shrimp and steamed vegetables at the end of the meal.

Great as always. Surrounding customers were a bit loud and perhaps more noticeable than normal as we there were only 5 tables full in the restaurant and we were seated directly next to 2 of those tables. (Notwithstanding there was room to space people out more - perhaps there are reasons not to do this I am not aware of).

The meals didn't arrive together and there was 25-30minutes between the mains arriving which meant we filled up on rice as we were hungry. The food was delicious but when you're not sharing then it's hard because people finish their meals before yours arrive.

Our dining experience tonight was going amazingly until the end of the meal came closer. Now that Okami has implemented the tablet ordering system, we expect that once we send items off to the kitchen, they would receive it and prepare them in relatively the same order that we sent them. Instead, we had ordered the sushi roll plater (which is evidently pictured to include wasabi and ginger) very early on in our meal. However, this dish did not come out, so when the server came by to let us know that the kitchen would be closing soon and to take out dessert orders, we had to remind her that we were still waiting on a sushi dish. In the haste of taking our final orders, she placed a new order of sashimi (not sushi rolls) on our behalf. When the plate finally came out and it was sashimi, we said it’s not right and that we ordered rolls. They took it back and much later brought us rolls. The next issue was very evident then, the rolls were NOT an assortment of different kinds, but rather all cooked tuna and avocado rolls. There was also no wasabi or ginger in the plate. That’s when we had had enough and asked for the manager, Keith. She informed us that the lack of variety in the rolls was because they were ordered at last call, referring to when the server came and ‘reordered’ the dish for us. We made it clear that we had actually ordered it early on in our seating, so the dish was quite disappointing. Finally, the cherry on top of it all, was that when we asked if we would get the wasabi and ginger with the rolls, Keith said that WE DID NOT order it as those items need to be ordered separately and do not come with the dish. This made us furious, since the picture on the menu tablet CLEARLY includes those items, and there is NO disclaimer to let us know it wouldn’t and that we’d have to order it separately. It was only after making even more of a fuss that we were given some wasabi, no ginger. All in all, this experience has shown us that the servers and the manager are NOT equipped with the skills needed for their jobs. Instead of listening to our requests/complaints, they constantly made up excuses as to why it was actually our fault. I’ve included pictures the sushi roll platter as seen on the menu tablet, compared to what was served to us.

They cook the Yakiniku beef so well, not chewy like other Okami branches, but the sauce in it is so little per serving making it taste more oily than tasty. Waiting for the order takes a while compared to other branches. We waited for the Beef Carpaccio order for more than 30 mins, and not until we followed it up, and our table was empty numerous times waiting for food to arrive. The staff were kind and lovely.

Food was nice! I remember the menu being bigger though but none of us had been there in forever. Staff were friendly but they probs should check the wine before bringing it to the table as our glass was oxidised (yes they replaced it) They accommodated our booking request as well.

17 people with 1 iPad for service is ridiculous. By the time everyone’s had a chance to glance to order it’s taken an hour. Much rather prefer the old menu system being serviced by a waitress
