yum yum. always a great meal. Freshly made eggplant is my favorite.

We have visited Okami before but always on the weekends! The wait for food was no problem on a Thursday night, was not loud and the service polite. We had a Japanese student with us and she commented that the food was very nice! 😁

Great visit at Okami Ballarat. Certainly better setting and a lot quieter than some of their other restaurants.

Staff are great, the buffet is a bit expensive as the price has gone up. But our real problem is the warm sake. You are purchasing 150mls of sake but then it is heated (often over heated) so that the sake evaporates and what you are left with is 70 mls if you are lucky, in the bottom of the bottle. If you are charging people $8+ for warm sake it needs to be 150 mls of warm sake after it has been heated and evaporated not before. There is no point complaining to the manager who is lovely until you have a problem and then she is argumentative. We have been eating here a lot and as loyal customers expect better customer service than we receive. It is the job of staff to make us feel comfortable and have a pleasant time. Its not our job to keep the staff happy which seems to be her attitude.

Pleasantly surprised. The food quality was exceptional and tasted amazing. The service was friendly and even though the restaurant was packed the food arrived fast and hot ( or cold for those dishes that should arrive cold). Excellent value, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Great Service Great Choice of Food But definitely need Heating we were sat by a cold air vent and no heating in the place for customers accept for staff at the front counter. Middle of winter in Ballarat not good. Would of given 5 star if we were warm and cosy. Table was wobbly and tiny and uneven put my hand on the table to get up and the whole thing nearly. Tipped over . Had no nice sauces to dip your food in . Godd value for $32 Wouldnt go back in winter or a cold day .

This was our first visit here after many people recommending it to us. We were impressed with the food but very very disappointed with the service. I understand it was busy but that it no excuse for us to have to wait 45 minutes for a drink (after we had to check on this twice), to have to ask 3 times for a certain food dish, to have to try and get a waiters attention to clear empty dishes from our table as they were running past and even to get a fork for a few of us on the table took 10 minutes and then one of us having to go up and try and get them. We felt like we were an inconvenience to be there. There were 9 or us for family dinner and i would have expected to be treated with more respect than us have to try and get the waiters and never have them approach our table. Really disappointed with the service very different to the experience i thought we would have had.

Excellent restaurant with great food ( also vegan and vegetarian friendly). Quick service even in busy times by efficient and friendly staff. Set price menu however with unlimited servings of anything on the menu ( Very good variety available to suit all palates ). Highly recommended.
