We were a large group and had a great time! The food and atmosphere were excellent.

The restaurant, the service, the ambience, the food…. There was nothing to fault. Fantastic value for money with wonderful staff and great food filled with passion. I would recommend visiting this little jewel in Fitzroy

First time we dine here on Friday, live music is on. Nice music but not too loud. Good and friendly service team. Food quality is consistent. Will come again. 😁

The food took almost an hour to come out even though the restaurant was empty. The portions were stingy and the food was extremely bland. The crackers and bread we were given with the dips were straight from a packet.

We went on a Wednesday night so it was pretty quiet. We got the vegan platter which was lovely but one of the dishes was cold.

First time trying authentic Ethiopian food and not disappointed at all. Great food. It was quiet but then again it was a Wednesday night. Recommended. Excellent location.

Amazing food, great vibe, wait staff was busy as but ensured every table was well looked after. It was refreshing to enjoy the live music 🤗 all so authentic and without any fluff. I would definitely recommend a visit. Also, don’t miss the fried banana dessert :)

We got the banquet which was not that great! There were not as many dishes as we expected, and the dessert was just plain ice cream. You should change the offer to include more and only African dishes. You should let the diners pick from a range of dishes, or increase the number of food that you offer. The next time (oh yes, we're coming back. The food was delicious!), we'll order individual items off the menu. Couldn't get the authentic experience we were hoping to. Hope this review is not public but only goes to the restaurant/owners.

Large space nicely decorated. Friendly and attentive service. Extensive range of dishes for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Entrees and mains all colourful, generous and delicious. The signature battered cauliflower dish lived up to the hype. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful evening at Nyala. We loved the ambiance and food. The service was also amazing. Fortunately it was combined with a wonderful art exhibition by the talented Zion Yaynu @artistic_noiz and live music by Amadou Suso. Beautiful evening.

The best African meal for dinner is definitely delicious for 2 people is worth it for dinner in Fitzroy and best meal ever was delicious couscous, 3 meat Shaw is delicious and veg is delicious.

We had one of the banquets on offer for 5 people and there was plenty, no one went hungry. The service was pleasant but it was a bit noisy, but then it was a Friday night. I would definitely recommend.
