Montezuma's - Mooloolaba

The frijoles (beans) had a lot of excess liquid on both the nachos entree and on the side of our enchilada mains. Our meals were also not very hot. Would love if they went back to putting the frijoles on the plate and in the oven so the meal is sizzling hot like it used to be.

I took my 90 year mother who had never had Mexican before and we had enchiladas which she loved and so did I staff were very friendly and efficient so everything was great

We used to have a Montezumas in Toowoomba but it closed down many years ago so when we saw this one during a recent stay at Mooloolabah we had to go. The food was just how I remembered it. Good size meals & very tasty. Staff were very friendly. We did wait a while for our meal but the restaurant was busy & the waitress apologized when I meals finally arrived. It was definately worth the wait. Excellent mexican food.

The beans were not like usual red colour and were tasteless. The Enchilada had minimal cheese over it. They forgot to put the sour cream on the Enchilada with Chorizo. Not up to usual standard for Montezumas. It was still okay to eat, but not as yummy as usual.

Great food, a little disappointed they ran out of chicken but the beef was great!

We could not have been happier! Monty’s is special to my husband and I as we came here for lunch one day during our honeymoon. We then made it our ‘thing’, culminating in it being our ‘go-to’ for our milestone anniversaries (10 year and 20 year). The staff could not have been nicer, friendlier or more accommodating 200000/10 in terms of food taste, staff and environment xx

Waited almost 2 hours for our meals. Meals came out one at a time with a delay in between each person/meal. We wait until everyone is served, this is why basic hospitality is all meals served together as our meals were now cold. 2 people at our table had their meals completely missed so we had to wait for them to cook them completely again. There was no communication from wait staff about what was happening until we approached and asked about our food. When we went to pay they didn’t charge us for the 2 meals that they forgot. That was nice but we won’t be going there again.

Food was terrible, left items off our meal then tried to charge us for them 1 meal was badly burnt & stuck to the plate 2 other chicken meal were really dry Absolutely the worst Mexican I’ve ever eaten Won’t be ever going back or recommending

We love going to Montezumas but this the experience was disappointing. One person didn’t get their meal, we asked many times. When I went up to the kitchen the chef said it was given to the wrong person. We said everyone had finished their meals, they offered to make it take away free of charge. The other meal came out cold, we asked for it for it to be heated up and that meal never came back.

Great food, great service! Have been eating here since I was a kid and Haven’t been for a visit for almost 20 years (since living overseas) and it wa even better than I remembered!

We have been going for 25 plus years....last night was terrible. Cramming 6 adults into a booth on the hottest day from hell with no AC was ridiculous. So hot we couldn't enjoy or finish our meals for our daughters birthday. There was a huge table right beside us empty....

My order for the Mexican date cake took a long time to arrive, and only after I asked the staff. I ordered it with coconut ice cream because I'm vegan, but it tasted like dairy ice cream.

The staff were very accommodating for our 2 group bookings for my son's 16th birthday. The meals were great as usual and the team were happy to bring out our cake with candles and sparklers.

The young girls were short staffed so a good 20 minutes before our order for a drink was taken & because it took so long, we ordered everything together. Food was nice & staff lovely just need more of them. Kids meal came out last & the bottle of water for the table asked for on ordering came out after the meals. The staff were doing their best though and apologised for the wait.

Been going to Montezuma's Mooloolaba for over 30 years. Lots of great memories and the food is still as good.

Our go to Mexican restaurant. Great location and atmosphere. Have been many times and will be back for many more.

Booked a table for 8 for a birthday party. Was told that they had accidentally double booked our table, and we had to be out in 1 1/2 hours. Which was an impossible task for 8 people to order, wait for food, eat, have drinks and then eat dessert. I brought a cake, which we had to scoff down so that we would leave on time. We had no time to sit, chat and enjoy ourselves - we were all just watching the clock. Food was cold and average, no one enjoyed their dishes. I was really upset because I planned this for my boyfriend's 25 birthday and it was a huge let down.

awesome food and great experience, only very small negative is the wait staff did not listen properly, mucked up a few small details, but this did not detract from a fantastic restaurant and meal

Restaurant is looking very tired (don’t ask about the toilets🤢) Staff were efficient and nice but main meal (chicken nachos) was cold and bland.

The staff we saw were great. One of our kids bit a taco and it was rubber so instead of breaking it just pushed together and all the topping shot out of the top all over her. After we sorted that all our tacos where rubber shells the staff offer to replace them. We just got two of the five replaced. Little my fault been eating the brand for years in tweed and north Sydney never thought it had onions, ordered without looking at the menu as I thought I knew it very well only to realise it now has chunks of onion.. Turned my other child off eating the food. The food was average the staff were all friendly and nice.

We hadn’t been for a number of years and found the venue very tired with multiple leaks in the ceiling due to storms in the area. Overall the food was good but the ambiance left a lot to be desired.

Staff were amazing, food was amazing, could not fault it at all. We will be returning.

Tables had not been cleared. They had run out of pork. Ran out of rice while we were eating. The hard shell tacos tasted stale but turns out they were undercooked. But they were very apologetic about everything that was below average and very happy to remake hard tacos which was much appreciated.

The dips in trio of dips were all cold - the place needs a serious Reno as everything is old, chairs wobbly and tables uneven. Wouldn’t go back.

The Nachos and enchilladas were good. I can make better chilli con carne as there was no spice/heat in the one that I was served. The waitress said that she would return with new cutlery after we had eaten our entree but forgot to return. The Sangria had no flavour. Not a great dining experience

Meals didn't come out together. 3 came out and the 4th arrived 10 minutes later. Had to ask twice for our serve of jalapinos.

The table we booked was ready when we arrived, which was great. We ordered our drinks. I’d finished mine by the time the rest of the table got theirs 10-15 mins after me. There were six of us, we ordered nibbles and mains. Starters were fine, poppers a little pricey for what you get. Then the mains started dribbling in. First off, one order was wrong, that had to be sent back as it had items on it we asked not to be. Still waiting for all the food. The wrong dish that was brought back, pulled pork completely cold. Now five of us have got out food, 20-25mins and still no last meal. We had to wave someone down. Then we realised they’d completely forgotten it. We had all finished eating. Last person finally got their meal while we all watched her eat. 15mins later a confused girl comes to the table with another meal. Obviously no communication or very poor staff training. Now rating the food, rice dried out and no flavour, overall I’d give food a big blahhhh. Which was a pity as I love Mexican. The staff were friendly but clueless.

Wow, what a shocker. Anything worse than getting vegan fajitas instead of normal. How do people eat that shit. Never again, good luck to them. Place used to be so much better.

I had my usual, San Francisco, it was awesome, my wife had the Monty Delight, minor hiccup with the beef, but the store rectified, so all good. Cocktails were awesome, we love Montezumas, never disappoints.
