Montezuma's - Mooloolaba

No warm welcome and food was average at best. No friendly staff to check on us throughout the dinner either and no offer of dessert.

Our waiter who had earing was great. The blonde chick was cranky. Yeah for $10 margaritas and $5 tacos. I'll be back on Sundays.

Tables need a proper clean and not just a wipe down. They are super sticky Otherwise, great as always

Food was very avg. Place has changed since last time being there 6 months ago. Shame.

The barman was very disinterested in being there I would say.He should look for another job!

The food was delicious. The menu has changed recently however it was still great.

Food was bland, restaurant needs updating. Service was happy and efficient.

Sadly, the nachos was more refried beans than anything else; definitely not enough corn chips. They only serve soft shell tacos which I didn’t realise until it arrived. It was a soggy mess that needed to be eaten with a knife and fork; not how I like to enjoy my tacos! Also, the slushy maker wasn’t working and so my margarita was pretty ordinary.

We did not have the best experience, there were a number of menu items not available. The food was not up to the standard we had experienced in the past. There was only one bar person preparing drinks, so the wait time was long.

We have been long time visitors of Montezuma's, and most times we are on the Sunshine Coast we dine out there. We have eaten at all Montezuma stores across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We have noticed prices have gone up, however on our last experience the the Number 1 Montezuma's Delight, my wife said it was missing most ingredients and was the most disappointing meal she has ever had. That is a huge statement, as we first dined out at Montezuma's in 2006, so we have been coming for almost 20 years. The staff were helpful, friendly but the food very disappointing. We doubt based on the experience, if we would return.

Excellent food jalapeno popper's were a wonderful surprise, Nachos were fantastic the corn chips were light and not heavy very impressed thank you xxxx

Despite being quite busy, our server at Montezuma's was excellent! We had been given a booth, but noticing we were warm, he moved us to a booth in a cooler area of the restaurant. Our meals were excellent and he, and the bartender were accommodating for all our questions and requests. The server really made our night!

Brought out the second main at least 10-15minutes after the first one, and despite being so much later it was also not what was ordered so had to wait another 10minutes. The side which was to accompany the first main came out with the second main. Staff didn’t really seem phased by the error, and didn’t apologise or think it was weird I’d finished my meal and my husband hadn’t received his.

There was nobody else inside when we arrived at 7pm. No atmosphere. Two disinterested staff at counter told us to use app or order at counter. Went to bar to find only 2 beers out of 7 in fridge. Were allowed to get drinks at bar and waiter then kindly took food order at table. Went to order wine and told no rose, no Pinot Grigio, in fact only one white and one red so didn’t bother. Food arrived pretty quickly on super hot plates like they’d been sat pre-made in oven for a while. Was actually very tasty but no food could make up for lack wasted on lack of atmosphere, lack of friendly staff, lack of anything in fridges. Last came here 2 years ago when was fun and cheerful. Now flat and soulless and feels like running at a loss/ verge of closure. Sorry but will be last visit

Old school Mexican that we absolutely loved, this place is all about the food and flavours. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Short staffing pampered the working staff to deliver better service.

The service was great. The food was ordinary. My dish was overcooked and the prawns were like rubber. We have eaten montes food for over 40 years and could count on it not changing wherever we went. The salad was nothing like a montes salad nor was the taste of the enchilada.

We waited 40mins for our food. I did not enjoy Montezumas delight, the veges in the salad were too big to eat and the chicken was dry.

Disappointing. Enchilada was OK but not very much flavour. Rice totally dried out and inedible, beans cold and tasted funny. Service good.

We have been coming here every Friday for the last 3 years and my partner has been coming here even longer it’s absolutely amazing. Quick service amazing sangria friendly and happy staff and the food is very good quality. The location of this restaurant is amazing in the heart of Mooloolaba and the night life around is also very nice. Thanks so much to the new manager as well he always takes care of us. See you next Friday

It was a little disappointing since last time we went there The same meal was a lot smaller and more expensive, (I looked at my photos from then) And there wasn’t a lot of vibe there It was one of my favourite restaurants at one time. Unfortunately I didn’t feel it this time around

We’ve loved montezumas for over 20 years but I’m sad to say, this wasn’t a pleasant experience. I was surprised to be able to get a booking on a Friday night booking a few hours before our sitting but the reason why is because the menu has changed so much and the food is now just really bad. Maybe it was just a bad night but when we left it was still quite empty. I don’t see it lasting

Probably a staff shortage but waited 20 mins to order a drink. Restaurant probably left $35 on the table

Took a while for our order to be taken,with only one other table. Food was ok, not up to usual standard though. No tostado in montezumas delight and very little if any tomatillo sauce on con requardos prawn nachos. Otherwise was nice.

Mooloolaba Montezuma’s is a go to family celebration restaurant for lunch and dinner. Delicious meals, easy to find location and friendly staff. The spicy tacos were particularly tasty.😋

Con Reacaudo Garlic Prawn nacos is my go to choice. The corn chips were different, the prawns still had the tails on, there was minimal tomatillo sauce and the rice was raw. It was not prepared or cooked in the Montezuma way hence also making it taste different. It was my husband’s birthday and he even commented that it was different and not as enjoyable. Not sure what is happening at Montezuma’s Mooloolaba but it will be a while before we return. Don’t mess with tradition- that’s why we have loved Montezuma’s for 40 years from Burleigh Heads, to Taringa Brisbane to Mooloolaba.

Waited 45mins for entrees and it came out with the mains after we spoke to management had to send drinks back as they were premix
