We were a party of four accidentally booked in upstairs - but the change around to seat us downstairs (we had young men wanting pub grub!) - was exceptionally polite, kind and quick. We were made to feel welcome and not a problem, so thanks!

Although there is no kids menu there my kids loved it too. This is a must visit place when in melbourne for good quality steak

For a place that advertises steak cooked to your request, they don't quite tell it as it is. Very poor will not return ever, no apologies for the bad service. Same piece of steak refired served with same chips and gravy which were now cold and salad swimming in blood from the steak. Coming from Perth and eaten here often very embarrassing when you promise a first timer to .Melbourne a great feed.

Once again a very good place to visit. Food was excellent and delivered promptly and the service was excellent. It was a very busy pre-Christmas time and the staff were very busy, but still found time to respond to every request.

There is great food and wine, great service and a good atmosphere upstairs, also great pub atmosphere downstairs to start and finish the day off.

Hotel building is over 100 years old. Photo on wall of punt road with orchid on one side and the punts for crossing the Yarra. And food and service was excellent. We'll be back

food was great. had sold out of oysters on the day which was disappointing. byo wine but wanted to charge $20 per person, per bottle. managed to get a flat bottle rate.

Our recent experience at the Mitre Steakhouse was not a good one. This was mainly due to the poor quality of the food provided and our experience with management. We ordered steak and fish dishes. Both were overdone and our chips were under cooked. When we raised these issues with management at the end of the meal, we were simply told don't bother to come back again. This was very disappointing given our past experiences have generally been very good plus the total value of the meal and drinks exceeded $400 so one would think that we would be provided with a high quality service. Based on that experience, we would not recommend the Mitre Steakhouse.

The dining experience was great. The service was attentive which for a lunch time meeting was important to me. The steak was great too - cooked to perfection, so overall a very enjoyable experience!

Beautiful dinning room upstairs with lots of old world charm. Staff were really friendly and the meals all came out together which is always a good thing. The only complaint is the price - $48 for just a piece of steak on a plate with no salad or fries just the steak! We found that hard to justify the price. Any kind of sides were at an extra charge. $30 for Sausage and mash. We did enjoy the experience, but just too pricey.

Meal was very nice lovely presented. Staff were very attentive meal was served quickly. We did the Ghost walk tour so the restaurant was close to the meeting place and it was also mentioned on the tour which was great .
