When we booked, the only time for lunch was 2.45 through the website of quandoo. the restaurant was empty. We ordered, entrée came 15 minutes, but mains took 35 minutes. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. The service, having been a few weeks ago at peek lunch hour, compared to 2.45 was terrible. It was a hot day, and they had the heating on, asked them to turn it off and put the cooling off. They turned it off, but didn't put on cooling on. Had to request that. Table was sticky and needed to be wiped down. Food was good, but no service. You are paying top dollar, and for $100 lunch, expect more.

I am a carnivore so ofcorse I will like Meat&wine.co But honestly the pork ribs are amazing and if you get a steak be sure to ask for " the bushmens chutney" and if the server dose not know what you are talking about ask for " the sauce that comes on the kangaroo" they usually click than lol. but it's amazing on both steak and chips. 9.9 out of 10. not only would buy again but signed up for a meat and wine card.

My family and I have been going to Meat & Wine co in Hawthorn regularly over the past few years and we have never been disappointed. We sometimes bring overseas visitors along to share the experience with us and they all love the good food, good wine selections and always friendly service.

Service was good, meal was good. Just haven’t got Lamb was sad.

Food was great, atmosphear was great, can't wait for our net visit.

Food was magnificent. Only thing to complain about would be the time for the waiters to come around.

We booked our table for 8.15 and we were a bit early, so we were told out table wasn’t ready which we understood. We then ordered a bottle of champagne to start drinking while we were waiting but it took a while till the receptionist came round and said the drink wasn’t cool, so they need to leave it in a fridge or probably freezer a bit longer. Then we were called to our table which was next to a pillar and quite small for 4 persons to put all the food there. We got served our champagne at the table and it wasn’t cold which we were disappointed especially with the cost $125 per bottle. By the way we got table around 8.30 even we were a bit early...

Great experience; sadly took some time to be acknowledged on arrival. A simple ‘welcome be with you soon’, would have sufficed! Leaving customers standing and wondering is not great! The meal was great!!!

mothers day special menu - limited choice, overpriced, and no service. Really disappointed after paying $85 per head for adults and $35 for children and they got orders wrong - children menu was basically unedilbe garlic bread, small burger and chips and runny ice cream.

My steak was good. My friends steak on the other hand was too bloody when he asked for medium rare. Was pretty much bleeding out as he was cutting in.

The food was spectacularly good, but our table, whilst away from the rather intrusive music in the main restaurant, was rather hot. Would come again, bus ask for better seating. The restaurant wasn't full.

We had a wonderful time at The Meat and Wine Co - Hawthorn East. My partner enjoyed a perfectly grilled rump steak, I had a magnificent hamburger. Very pleasant wines, warm atmosphere, friendly staff - all in all, a very good dining experience!
