Lovely meal, shame we didn't have longer to enjoy the full experience

Still one of the very best restaurants in Sydney for a Friday power lunch. "I'll be back!"

The entree's were the highlight. Great wine list and good service!

Service was quick and greeting warm. After that while waiting staff were plenty, they were not a happy lot. The food was delicious. Just perfectly fresh and beautiful. Unfortunately seated near a large loud crowd of gentlemen.

Amazing service and even better food, better gnocchi than I had in Italy. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Overall lovely meal, but expensive for a simple pasta. Also the staff have some attitude... they made a mistake and tried blaming the client for lack of understanding on their part... yet the waitress had limited English... a little off.

I had dinner here on Monday night and everything was great. The food was delicious, calamari was tender and the ravioli was melt in your mouth.. the service was very attentive. Cannot fault.

It was nice night, good service, food was good,but not best we experienced. Calamari chewy, duck in papardele smells like just cooked in boiling water, should be much,much better for restaurant like Machiavelli

The near perfect score above has been earned over the years and is not glibly applied. Even the minor reduction regarding noise level is only because we are both quietly spoken and the occasional repeat is required...while admitting at the same time that the 'buzz' is part of the pleasure and excitement we look forward to each time. Even the change of ownership was transitioned seamlessly and you are to be congratulated on that. Our many anniversaries, birthdays and your own Christmas closures and re-openings have been spent with you, and the predecessor La Strada, for what is now decades - and will continue as long as we are able. Machiavelli is one of the show places we share with overseas visitors that matter when we are our to prove that Sydney does have sophistication and great food. Great restaurant with consistently good food (The pasta is to die for) and buzzy atmosphere.

No host to greet us. One of 5 staff said hello. First bread cold. Butter hard. Second bread warm. Slopped tartare on our plates in an attempt to silver serve the chewy calamari. No manager on the floor. Way too overpriced in this market for those kinds of errors.

The food was nothing spectacular for the price, quite bland and over cooked. I was hoping for the price it would be amazing home cooked pasta.

we had an enjoyable meal and a great venue for a large group, as we were able to hear everyone at the table without competing with loud background noise. the food was good.

Far too noisy, making conversation very difficult and staff made no attempt to request certain tables to reduce their noise levels

Very welcoming by staff although we were half hour late, food delicious and the staff were smiling all the time with banter of conversation. We recommend to any persons for a great meal out. We are back to Newcastle then home to UK. A BIG THANK YOU. Danny/Beth
