Machiavelli Ristorante Italiano

I went there with 2 friends. They rated it highly as well, one of them said it was their best Italian restaurant experience in Australia. I marked it down for noise levels because it is noisy and want people to know, but I had no problem with it because I expect Italian restaurants to be alive and noisy.

I am a regular visitor to Machiavelli but the mad rush on Valentines night was not a pleasant experience. We had been served entree main and desert within one hour of sitting down. I hadn’t even finished my first drink By the time we finished eating. We paid premium prices to attend the restaurant on a busy night - that should be enough to let guests have a pleasant meal that runs at least for 2 hours. Not 1. I have never once faulted the service or food at Machiavelli, but this is a big exception.

Once the restaurant got busy, the service was terrible. I had to call for waiting staff twice. Over-priced and incorrect billing which I questioned. Nothing was adjusted. Disappointed.

While the food was great and despite it being a quiet Monday night we did feel rushed. There was plenty of staff on but barely a minute went by when they were whisking away our plates etc. Great food however!

We feel like words can not describe our experience. Everything was amazing! From the service of the staff (especially Nicole who made us feel so welcome!) , to the home made pasta, melting meat (we had duck ragout and beef cheek), the wine and dessert. The creme brulee was to die for. All exceeded our expectations in dining out. Best Italian food we have ever had!!! Thank you for such a great experience.

Food was delicious and guests had a great time, but service was very slow at the start. must have been close to 30 minutes before drinks order was taken and then eventually arrived.

The food and service were fine. The table next to us was offered free after dinner drinks but not us. When we went to Rockpool recently, the wait staff asked if it was a special occasion. It was. Noone asked us last night and so my birthday went unnoticed. Only a small thing but staff should be asked to ask the question when guests are being seated.
