Lona St Kilda

Excellent location right in the heart of St Kilda. Great drinks selection with a large bar. Very sociable atmosphere. Excellent background music. Choice place for going out on a date or catch up with mates. Good pub style food.

Booked this place to celebrate my Birthday. atmosphere was good, friendly staff, food was nice but portion quite small. Overall, great experience

Great food a bit noisy at 6.30pm time. Easy walk to & fro the Palais Theatre.

Didn't even stay to eat as it was far too noisy. Couldn't even hear each other talk on a table of 2.

Menu has changed a bit, I think the old menu was better. Staff lovely as usual and love music excellent

Is this a restaurant or a club? Honestly fouldnt tell from the blaring music and ruckus customers. Could not hear my partner sitting opposite me talking at normal volume. Food came out quickly but unfortunately it was undercooked and underwhelming. Some of the pizza dough was actually raw in the middle still. Staff did not come to check on the food after we began eating. We rushed to eat what we could and leave because the noise was unbearable. Staff did not say anything to us as we got up and left. Great place if you are just going for drinks and a party. Very much less than ideal if you’re there for a nice meal on a night out.

Great accommodation for large groups, easy to book with and organise.

Booked this place for a farewell because it was close to my workplace. The back garden was nice, food was also nice however we were seated close the smoking area, which we can really smell the cigarette while enjoying our food. This is the only thing that I didn't enjoy. Overall it was a nice experience and will return with my friends.

Pre-COVID, Lona was my go-to for a meal any time I was in the St Kilda area. Saturday's visit was my first visit to COVID since Melbourne's lockdowns. I'm pretty sure I won't be returning again. The restaurant was incredibly noisy. The post-COVID menu was just lots of the same type of food over and over again. Our food (a club sandwich and a tiny quesadilla), although kind of tasty, took almost an hour to arrive. There was NO interaction with any restaurant staff in this time frame. A simple update or an offer of more drinks would have been nice. The male staff member who checked us out and took our payment at the end of the meal was quite rude. I'll quite happily take my hard earned $$ to someone else next time I'm in St Kilda, maybe the new Mexican place that looks like it is going to open soon next door.

It took far too long for us to get served at the beginning -- we were shown to our table, but didn't even have water brought to us. We had to get the attention of the staff to ask them to take orders for our drinks and to get some table water. The food was actually pretty good and the cocktails were fantastic. The latter part of the meal was also a bit uncomfortable as we had 'too much' service, with the waitress picking up plates and empty glasses as soon as we put them down on the table. Customer service needs some serious improvement.

Drove 50 mins for a drink they claimed to run out of ingredients for Stated on their website that it was a 3 hour sitting and was asked to leave / kicked out after not even 2 hours
