No one else at the restaurant. All food from tins or jars. Stale tart. Expensive for what you got.

I dined here with my partner with my partner for his birthday, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular, from start to finish! Firstly, Christian then took the time to message me during the day to see if we'd like to enjoy some oysters as part of our meal (and proceeded to go to the Fish Markets to get them fresh for us!). From the moment we arrived, we felt overjoyed by the beauty of the space and the warmth of the atmosphere. Christian took us through the menu in detail, including describing the paired beverages and why they work with the food. From there, he gave us time to consider our food choices while he prepared the oysters. They were so freshly shucked we almost wept with joy, and he included a special trick to teach us for making the process even more wonderful. The pairings with the oysters were specific to this space, too, and honestly it was one of the best oyster experiences we've ever had (and we consider ourselves oyster enthusiasts!). We ordered both the Baked Camembert and the Chevre Salade, to be extra indulgent on a special occasion...and we could not be happier with both of these dishes! I believe one or other of us uttered the words 'religious experience' more than once during this course! The dressing on the salad was the most delicious I've ever tasted (I confess to not being a huge fan of salad in general, but this was something else entirely, and I could not recommend it more highly). Full though we already were at this point, we gathered our strength and enjoyed a delicious Cassoulet for our main - its portion size defeated us at this stage of things, but Christian kindly told us it wasn't a fair fight, and he believes we could have been victorious under different circumstances (to find a shared dry humour in amongst the rest of this amazing experience was really beautiful, too). Determined to exercise our 'dessert stomachs', however, we proceeded to order the Tarte Tatin, which (like much of the menu) was house-made to Christian's grandmother's secret recipe, and unlike any dessert either of us had previously had in Australia - syrupy without being sickly, textured to perfection throughout both layers, and just the most divine flavours we could have hoped for. At the commencement of the meal, Christian had described to us the Poires Au Vin also on offer, and while we were at this point feeling full beyond capacity, neither of us could bear the thought of leaving without also trying this. And I can tell you it was more than worth the extra holes in our belts - the Creme de Cassis pour brought out the already incredible flavours within the dessert, and rounded off a perfect night with applomb. Please, do yourself a favour and explore this hidden gem as soon as you can - honestly, words can't even really capture the happiness we experienced.

A unique, beautiful, dining experience! Surrounded by Rococo paintings and heritage family furniture and crockery, the owner/chef explained in loving detail each course and its origins. The delicious, authentic menu, served in a leisurely way, ensured time was taken to savour each dish. The recommendations of wine to accompany the food were exceptional. We left feeling we had been transported to France and that we have our very own Raymond Blanc in Sydney! We will be back.

Exquisite food in an intimate setting. Not a huge menu but well-curated. Traditional French food prepared beautifully and presented with care. Very reasonable price too! My new favourite restaurant.

A fantastic experience! Unfortunately, this restaurant is due to close due to rise in rental costs and should be supported to stay open. Food and service was impeccable. Can't rave enough about the oysters and cheese fondue! Go and taste for yourself!

Incredible food from a local legend. What a wonderful place. The cambembert entree is fantastic, as you'd expect from the finest purveyor of cheeses in Sydney. The cider pairing was perfect. We all loved the salad and charcuterie as well. I was really looking forward to having the duck confit again, and I was not disappointed. A friend went with the souffle- I had a bite and can report that it is exceptional as well. All this is in a charming little restaurant with a mere 5 tables or so.
