It’s a modern Italian experience that’s open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, with an outstanding drinks list that rotates on the regular. Hungry or thirsty, the Fitzroy branch of Ladro really does have every base covered. Reserve a table and now and go see why we’re making such a fuss.

Thinking about making a Ladro Gertrude booking?
Ladro is loved by pizza heads of Melbourne and this is a love that starts as soon as the pizza heads step through Ladro’s doors and are hit by that unmistakable waft of dough. The whole Ladro operation oozes Italian cool and commitment and this, the Fitzroy branch on Gertrude Street is contemporary, spacious, and a genuinely pleasant place to sit and enjoy great pizza and cold beer. But we mentioned commitment, and what we mean is a commitment to greener, more sustainable restauranting. Ladro uses a high-tech system to compost 100% of its organic waste, then sells the compost and gives that money to local community gardens or schools. Ladro also make their own honey, burn only sustainable timber in their wood fired ovens and use 100% biodegradable packaging. Phew. Now to the food…
Not surprisingly, the highest quality local ingredients are sourced where possible and used to create top draw Italian food. On the evening menu here in Fitzroy you’ll find delectable starters, risotto, gnocchi, and some of the best pizza in Melbourne. Toppings are classic but there are also plenty a little more experimental. All are terrific (and available gluten-free), but some we have to recommend include pizza patate with fior di latte, taleggio, potato, rosemary and truffle oil, as well as the puttanesca with tomato, parmigiano, anchovies, capers, garlic chilli and olives. You simply have to try Ladro on Gertrude Street. Reserve a table now!
