Il Grappolo

We were seated near the side door, a table of 5. This is the most annoying spot, and a terrible dining experience. Not only do you get a cold draft, the door slam was very noisy, and who needs people rushing by you with food all night.When we moved our table slightly away from the door, we were told to move it back, even though it was possible to make it a better experience for us. When the bill came , we found an extra $10 had been added . No apology made. So yes, food was pleasant, but let these people know there are plenty of Sydney restaurants with pleasant food to choose from. Make your customers comfortable, even if you have to go out of your way, make your service to customers stand out.

The staff were courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was lovely and well-priced. A great local find.

I have been going to Ilgrappolo for about 9 years and found it to be one of the most consistent quality restaurants in the area from a food quality and service perspective. bravo !

I would have appreciated being told that we would be seated outside. My younger daughter arrived first and said that it was ok but others in our group were not dressed for the cool evening. I know cockroaches are beyond your control, but having them run across our table twice, was very unpleasant.

We celebrated Mother days and had a great time, I shared the pizza and seafood linguine which was very tasty and fresh. We were a group of 6 and we were all happy with our food. I'm looking forward to going back for the mussels. Also it was great service and the waiter was very attentive. I would say 10/10.

Delightful neighborhood boutique Italian. Fresh delicious homemade pasta and seafood. Light as air calamari. A little noisy at times but excellent service.

Our group of four had a very enjoyable experience at Il Grappolo for lunch recently. The service was very attentive but not overwhelming, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for small and larger groups.

The food is absolutely unbelievable! The best! We love it!

Garlic prawns were delicious (stunningly cooked prawns, very flavoursome); unfortunately our other 2 entrees were both somewhat burned (far too well cooked). Luckily our mains were all excellent. Our waiter was polite but didn’t use his grey matter when placing our order (we said we were sharing all 3 entrees but 1 entree came with only 1 slice of toast - a good waiter would have made sure it came with 3 slices). Got very noisy as the nite progressed

A regular dinner spot for us for the last 2 years. Noticed over the last 6 months it’s really gone down hill. Staff who don’t care acknowledge customers they seen to avoid them, not a smile in the place not as helpful as the staff use to be. Most of the food still good a few dishes not like they use to be.

The pizzas were dry and didn’t have much flavour. The staff weren’t attentive.

The service was appalling. We waited over one hour for our main course. I asked two seperate staff for an update as to when we might receive our meals and the staff didn’t come back to us with a response. The table next to us were equally annoyed by the slow service. What was once a great restaurant, has lot the plot. The wait staff were luck lustre.

Good delicious pasta, pizza and starters eg stuffed zucchini flowers & bruschetta. Baby chair available for 1 year old child and there’s children’s menu available. Great service all round, friendly staff.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Both our meals were top class. All this and BYO as well - We will definitely be back!

This is my favourite restaurant but something has changed. Astrid has left but they say chef and owner are still the same. The service was appalling. The female waitress sighed when we asked her to return a wrong order then promptly brought the dish back after having scraped off the chips but without the side. We had almost finished when the side finally turned up. The food was not of its usual high standard with the veal (normally mouth watering) was dry and bland. What has happened???

We love Il Grapolo but having booked for 4 we had an unexpected guest for a birthday celebration so we were a group of 5; we arrived at 5.45pm and were put on a table for 4 (even though the other 20 tables were empty) and told that they couldn't put us on another table because our online booking was for a table for 4. so we politely sat with three strapping boys jammed onto 2 place settings. As we ate our dinner we sat looking at all the empty tables around us that would have been so much more comfortable.. My husband remarked ... "its lucky the food is good because this small mindedness is what loses clients".

The main courses were excellent. We had mussels and gnocchi. Entree and dessert were average. The bread served with the mussels was a bit disappointing. It taste like French stick from coles.

Great little restaurant! Have introduced many friends and family to IL Grappolo. I go there st least once each week. The food is always very tasty and reasonably priced.
