More about the restaurant: Ichirin Japanese Food
The seafood selection changes daily depending on what the local catch is, but whether big eye tuna, King George whiting or Shark Bay snapper, you can rely on it being ridiculously fresh at Ichirin. This is surely Leeming’s best Japanese restaurant and one of the best casual Japanese places in all of Perth. The sushi and sashimi selections are exquisite, but there is a whole host of delicious Japanese delicacies hiding inside Ichirin on Dundee Street, from Margaret River beef fillet tataki to Fremantle octopus kara-age, carrot rice ball wrapped in Camembert to grilled pork gyoza.

Thinking about making a Ichirin Japanese Food booking?
Forget soggy sashimi for a second. Leeming’s Ichirin understands that, in terms of Japanese food, you can’t fool people by dressing up bad ingredients. Instead, Ichirin put high quality, incredibly fresh products (seafood above all) at the forefront of what they offer. The preparation is often minimal, meaning guests at this suave but cosy Japanese restaurant on Dundee Street get to enjoy the natural goodness of these carefully sourced items. That said, there’s certainly no shortage of complex culinary skill on show at Ichirin, and very, very few modern Japanese restaurants in Perth can match the level of freshness, quality and affordability managed here.
Ichirin’s bento boxes are the stuff of legend around Leeming, and you will not regret reaching for one. Still, this Dundee Street star (beside Melville Glades golf course) is a place you can delve a bit further into Japanese dining than most spots in Perth. Why not try scallop, king prawn and seafood wrapped sea urchin tempura? Or soft-boiled abalone with sweet liver miso sauce? Ichirin’s amazing omakase (degustation) sets can be tailored to suit any party size and are ideal for group dining – if you are planning a special event, though, advance reservations are strongly advised at all times.
