Nice authentic mostly Cantonese style restaurant. Excellent service. XLBs little less subtle than say those at Din Tai Fung.

Advised there was no a la carte menu when we arrived and that we had to have a $95/head buffet. Subsequently though, others around us were seen to be ordering from the al la carte menu. Food was bland and extraordinarily overpriced, even if it had been delicious (6 small courses - the last being a half scoop of vanilla ice cream with some chocolate source and half a strawberry. I'm very happy to pay $100pp for a meal but I expect a lot more than this for the money.

I suggested trying Gold Moon Chinese Restaurant or yum cha to my friends for the first time in Brighton. Although we were impressed with the ambience, we weren't as impressed with their customer service, pricing and food. The customer service was poor, the waiters (particularly the lady) who were serving us came across as unaccommodating and unfriendly. The lady, in particular, looked like she hated her job. We all noticed it. The food was average, e.g. xiaolongbao. It was disappointing. The size for each bun was too small, and the skin was too thick for a xiaolongbao. The dim sums were tasty, but average as I have had many dim sums in many places. The pricing on their website looked reasonably priced​. However, the pricing in their menu was quite different and too expensive. I thought that was quite misleading.

Visited the restaurant for the first time on Friday evening with my Wife and Son and was very impressed with the food and service. Prices are high but reflect the quality of the location, ambiance, and overall dining experience. Will definitely be back again soon and add this restaurant to our regular list.

I rang through the week and was told it was YumCha. The young staff had no knowledge of the food and were not attentive and had to be called to the table. we had to ask for sauces! My friend asked for an entree size fried rice, should have been told only large sizes served! Peking Duck was served cold (ugh! with no sauce! It was a celebration, we were not asked if we would like a second drink! I left hungry.

Post movie supper with friends and we had sublimely fresh scallops and fat perfectly cooked prawns plus steak and rice noodles. We enjoyed a byo reisling and left satisfied

Ok food but very very over priced!! The yum cha lunch was double what we previously paid. I will not be back due to concerns with value for money. I believe there has been a change of management which has caused the issue.

We are regulars. There were about twenty people in the restaurant. So the atmosphere is subdued but the food makes up for anything. The scallops were fat juicy and perfectly cooked Their hot fun and steak dish is truely memorable. We can’t wait til next time

As I said, food and setting was great! BUT delivery of food was late and only came when we complained. It could be SO much better if organisation was taken seriously. They also need to answer phones OR reply to messages left. There is a real need to make the general service better. We had a lovely table but we were ‘forgotten’ Waiters needed to be more aware of clients. They were very polite but not attentive enough.

inexperienced clumsy staff, no Amex and no Champagne. Pity, if they got good management it would do very well. The restaurant itself has been beautifully decorated.
