The food was amazing. The only fault I found was that they waited a bit too long to take our order. In saying that the staff were lovely. Prices were very reasonable.

Fabulous good, best Massaman curry I've had and the service was great as well. It was a very busy Saturday night so very noisy but you got used to it and in the end it didn't matter.

Food was really yummy. I also like the new restaurant. A big improvement from previous location. Ambiance was great. Food came really quickly. However, the service could do some improvement. Firstly, we're 4 adults but we're only given 2 menus? When I wanted to ask for 2 more menus, no one was in sight (we're seated at the very back table) so I had to actually stand up and walked to the staff near the kitchen area to ask for the menus. Moreover, I ordered Bangkok mojito for my drinks. When the waiter came serving the drinks, he didn't say the name of my drink properly and kept saying something like lemon cocktails or whatever, and I said "No one ordered this drink" And instead of saying "Ok I'll go and check again" he insisted "No no this is for your table" and just put the drink down to the table which I found was very odd and very persistent even though I already said no one ordered this drink. So I said "I ordered Bangkok mojitos. Is that what you mean?" Then he replied "Ah yes yes Bangkok mojitos" I found this very unprofessional. Lastly, at about 7.40pm after we finished our food, we ordered some desserts. We just literally ordered 2 mins away, then a waitress came over and said we had to vacate the table by 8pm. But we said to her, hey where's the desserts? We just ordered it. Could you serve it now? If you serve it now, then we will gladly vacate the table ONCE we finished. She seemed quite surprised and said no one was rushing us, just take our time bla bla bla...but really in our opinion, what she was saying was indeed rushing us and told us politely to go as quickly as possible. No one told me about this 2 hrs seating limit when I made the booking (online and call to confirm). Will I be back...yeah probably. The food kinda save my opinion about this restaurant.

Lovely food, a bit different to the normal Thai meal. As it's so busy was a little chaotic on arrival, with people queuing near the door and in the way of serving staff, but once seated the staff were good and service great.

This is my first time to the new restaurant. The food is good. The ambiance is good. The new restaurant is actually much better than the old restaurant!

Pleasant service on a busy Friday night. Great Thai Mojito cocktail. The food was lacking spice, and all dishes were very sweet and lacking that Thai zing of salty, sour, sweet and spicy.

The food was wonderful as usual & the place very busy. You can always count on the food to be consistent. We look foward to our next visit. The Galloping Horses, Red Curry Duck & the spring rolls are a must :)

Excellent atmosphere, food presentation spot on, however not the best Thai for what you are paying. Most of the dishes had no spice. Roast red duck curry was more of a sweet sauce same for the pork. Soft shell crab would be one reason to go back....simply the best and perfect balance. Service could improve, i.e a couple having a meal, drinks are ordered and only one drink arrived, 5 minutes later still one drink! wheres my beer : )

Awesome authentic Thai food. Excellent service although very busy on a Tuesday night. Entrees were amazing, we had the beef carpaccio, spring rolls, soft shell crab and curry puffs. Curry puffs are a must have, we've had in Perth. Mains were perfectly cooked, we had the twice cooked pork belly, fish, duck curry, pad thai and pad prik king goong (prawns). Dishes were full of flavor. We tried three desserts, coconut ice cream, lime tart and the mango sticky rice. The mango sticky rice was our favorite. It was nice and warm and not too sweet. Would definitely recommend this place, but will definitely need to book in advance as it is very busy.

Food : My favourite dish : the masaman beef curry but compare the price and the size they served away so expensive . The other hand the chicken curry was nice and serve size and price reasonable. The second dish for main course take little long though they forget our order. Overall : It was lovely night , I will recommend to my friend and friendly service too .

Terrific food, though portions were small, people we were with had been previously and said that the portions were larger before. There were six of us and the pork belly plate contained five pieces which made up purchase another. Two bowls of rice purchased which really only served four people.....

Our second visit to Galangal and well worth it! The food is beautifully presented, flavoursome and served in some interesting serving ware. Overall fantastic. The pork belly was as delicious as the first time, the red duck curry and wok greens perfect. I read a lot of reviews about Galangal and the common negative thread was around the service and wait time for clearing tables. Well the reviews have worked, although the staff may be a little over enthusiastic now, but I'm sure they will find a happy balance. We will definitely go back and I can highly recommend Galangal to those who love Thai food!!

Exceptional food. Service a bit lacking as the restaurant was booked solid. Could give you free rice and/or water as the prices are fairly high for the size of the meal servings and the price.

I have been seeking out really good Thai since moving to Perth from Melbourne 2.5 years ago. In Melbourne there is typically good Thai in every suburb - not so common North of the river in Perth. Thrilled to have found a great dine in restaurant with lovely atmosphere and a take away option 15 minutes drive from our house and the drive is worth it!

Finest Thai food in Perth. Will sure be back again. The taste is amazing. The Rice bowl is a bit too big, if you order 1 steam rice, it is enough for two ppl. Lol

The food was great as usual, however, being rushed and almost pushed out the door to accommodate the eight o'clock booking was somewhat disconcerting. The rush to clear the table at 7.15, while we had not completely finished our food or wine, somewhat spoiled the dining experience. Since we always include our grandchildren in family occasions we have no choice but to eat early and will therefore be looking at nother restaurants for future occasions.

Fantastic ambience, delicious food and attentive wait staff. Dishes are designed to share, but you could go it on your own if you're hungry! Probably not the sort of restaurant where you'd ask for a take home doggy bag though! This is a great restaurant for couples, older families and group bookings. Highly recommend.

Galangal has something many other Perth restaurants don't..... Consistency with both food and service. Sometimes it's a little slow to get going, but once you are being looked after, relax. The small menu means all dishes are expertly done. We always leave Galangal anticipating our next visit. Overseas guests are always impressed. Please keep it up !!!!

Although we had booked for 6.30, the restaurant insisted the booking was for 7.30. The website states you can BYO but then they said we couldn't BYO and that the website had not been updated to reflect this. I ordered a glass of wine and was then told that the wine had run out. The waitress who served us struggled to understand our order and to explain the special. She must have been fairly new. The food was delicious and it arrived in a timely way.

Restaurant decor is beautiful very tasteful, service attentive, price reasonable. Food was good especially the roast duck red curry but the menu was not extensive. We ordered the fish cakes and money bags for entree both were well cooked and very tasty. We also ordered the barramundi which had nice flavours and a well cooked pad Thai noodle dish. Disappointing that alcohol is not byo on weekend. The wine we ordered which was a Pinot was out of stock so they recommended a substitute. The big let down was the acoustics in the place as the restaurant was full it was a case of having to shout to be heard as for some reason people in Australian restaurants seem to talk loud to the point of yelling. We had to leave after a certain point for somewhere quieter. The lady behind the bar/reception counter where I went to pay was extremely lovely and friendly. This only made up for the downsides of the evening so well done

The food was very good. The restaurant was busy, after being closed for a week or so over the Christmas break, and the staff were doing their best but they were stretched. Our orders came out in good time but the restaurant was very noisy and our party of 5 found it difficult to have a conversation.

We arrived on time for our booking at 1900. The service initially for drinks was satisfactory. We were all looking at the menu deciding what to have and the waitress did not return. At 1945, which is three quarters of an hour later, we requested could they please take our orders. Whilst I appreciate they were busy for a Thursday evening the restaurant was not full. My husband ordered the chicken and cashews for the main meal and I had the soft crab - entrée size. When the meal was delivered my serving was for an entrée was what we expected but his was actually what you would expect for an entrée not a main meal, it was very small. We asked the waitress had they made a mistake and due to the language barrier she asked 'would you like some rice!!! Our complaint is the restaurant is expensive and to be charged $30.00 for a small serve as a main meal is not acceptable. We will not be returning.
