Dined with a group of 8 mates, we all loved it. We had outstanding service, and the BEST Thai food I've had in years. Couldn't fault them!

Delicious food with excellent and friendly table service. Lovely decor and crisp white tablecloths. The restaurant was full to the brim on sat night, and a little hard to hear each other talk. Best desert I've tasted in a long time, lime tart and amaazing icecream.

Great food and service. Not as traditional as it used to be when it was in Victoria Park and the portions are a bit small but I would come back and recommend.

The dishes were well presented. The flavor did not match the appearance and was not worth the price tag. We were given a table in the corner by the bar and were pretty much forgotten until after sitting there for close to 30 mins my husband asked the waiter to take our drink order. The staff were very preoccupied getting the restaurant ready for service instead of serving. We would not good back.

Food and service was excellent. Best Thai food I have had for a long time. Restaurant was full on a Tuesday night. Have already recommended to family and friends. Thank you

A beautiful restaurant with lovely decor and attentive staff. Prompt service of our orders provided us with delicious dishes beautifully presented. A little overpriced for the size of portions. Piped music unnessary as there were two large loud groups that made the ambience unpleasant. This noise prevented us from enjoying conversation across our table and may influence our decision to return. Would suggest limiting large groups or placing them in a back corner.

Food was pretty good, but service was inconsistent - was ignored at times. We were given a table next to the toilets even though restaurant was not full.

The food was great but service poor. Some people at the table waited over an hour before receiving any food so were very disappointed with the experience.

Great food and service. Disappointed as web site and on front door says Licensed & Byo, on arrival with our byo wine we were told not on weekends. We did go along with this but feel you need to point this out.

We'd heard a lot about this place & being Thai food lovers we thought let's try it. Well we certainly weren't let down. Thai green curry was a stand out for the wife & my pick for the night was the amazing chicken & corn deep fried dumplings. The service was exceptional.

Overly expensive, noisy, some overpowering, out of balance sauces. $5 for a small bowl of rice is ridiculous. I know everyone raves about this place, and the menu is certainly varied and interesting, but definitely won't go back.

Galangal serves the best Thai food in Perth. Service is great and during the week they have BYO, whcih is great! The only slight negative is that the acoustics are not great and when it's packed (which is always is) it can be hard to hear but this is a small price to pay for the yummy food.

This is a must visit restaurant! Lovely service, amazing food. They forgot to charge for our wine but my awesome honest husband pointed that out!

Inexperienced and unfriendly staff they didn't know what is gluteen free means and that created a misunderstandingin addition to that our food was cold .

The food was excellent! However, the service was lacking. It appeared there were not enough staff on to manage the number of customers in the restaurant. We chose our wine and waited forever until eventually we were advised they were out of that wine. Then we were given the wine menu again which was very limited. Again it took forever to be served to order more wine. After we had ordered our wine, it still took a very long time to be delivered.

Top class with wonderful fresh flavours. The restaurant was advertised on their web site as BYO but when we got there we found out this did not apply to Friday and Saturday nights despite the fact that when we were offered a wine list it clearly mentioned BYO and corkage ... Very confusing. We ordered a bottle of wine but our entrees came before the wine and on questioning we were advised that the wine was warm and they had to chill it. Even more confusing as we had a lovely ice cold bottle of wine in our cooler bag! The meal was wonderful, fresh and vibrant with a modern twist. Serving sizes are smallish so make sure you order adequately. If you don't order entrees you could easily eat two mains but what a wonderful way to explore the menu!

Delicious Thai cuisine. Visited 3 times & never disappointed. Pork belly pad Thai chicken cashew stuffy are my favourites need to venture try remaining dishes

Great food and ambience. Good location for birthday party. Had a wonderful time with friends, had a cake which was plated and served by their staff.

Amazing every time!! The twice cooked roast pork on green papaya salad is my favourite, also the red duck curry is an absolute winner. 100% satisfaction.

Food was fabulous - all dishes. Service was slightly mixed in that not enough attention when first getting there, i.e. needed wine glasses and had to wait a while. Also, with small glasses for the water, more trips are needed to the table by staff to keep them topped up. We left pretty late and at the last minute, asked if we could have coffees - we got them and if the staff were fed up that we'd asked, it was certainly not evident. Got our coffees and they were great. We will most certainly be back!

The soft-shell crab is to die for ! ! Delicious. Really like Galangal's food. Service comes up a bit short so could be improved very easily with more focus on the customer. Staff never seem to notice you when you try to get their attention.

Fantastic as always. Superb food and excellent service. Only criticism is plastic chairs. Booking in advance, especially Friday & Saturday, unless you don't mid queueing.

Food was awesome, the restaurant was filled to the brim. Staff were obviously kept on their toes hence slower service. However they were apologetic and I would definitely return again soon.

The restaurant is very nice but I was not overly impressed with the service or the food. When we sat at our table, the waitress asked if we would like water and we asked for sparkling water - it never arrived. We ordered the stir fry chicken as one of our dishes - it was presented well, but the chicken was very dry and lacked taste. We also ordered the massamam curry - nice taste but only enough to feed a 3 year old! Same with the jasmine rice - very small portion. Pretty disappointing overall.

Return visit, excellent food, relished the galloping horses & Pla Goong entrees, the 2 curries we had were superb with taste galore, service attentive & personable. Only flaw our friends had underripe fruit in their dessert. Real good value at average $50 per person

We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Service was slower than I experienced on previous visits, but it was busy. We will be going to Galangal again.

Great food, top service by very attentive and smiling staff. Perhaps the only negative was the price of the wine, an example the house wine is priced at $38, a bit excessive. The restaurant deserves my top score for the first two points mentioned above.

Food & service was excellent, as was the ambience. Would definitely rate Galangal as the best Thai restaurant in Perth. The only negative was a 1.65% surcharge if paying by credit card.

Service was great, food was average, green curry was amazing, prices were average. Food was fast too. Main things to improve are the flavour and authenticity of the food as it was better when it was in Vic Park.

First time dining there. Had heard good things. Overall very happy with the experience. Service, ambiance, menu choice all great. Food extremely tasty, very authentic flavours with a nice bite to most dishes. Probably only criticism, would be size of some dishes. Can only go on what I tried, but for example the pork belly dish was tiny, and difficult to share between three. Especially for the price. But overall , enjoyed the night, and would recommend.

Great service & great food. We had Soft shell crab delicious, Massaman curry beef, tiger prawn with pineapple in red curry and to finish the night with sticky rice and coconut delicious. Will revisit again.

A large restaurant with very nice decor, including carpet and tablecloths (good noise absorbers). Generous serves of top quality food, that is more imaginative than your usual Thai offerings. However the service was wanting from several different wait staff. We were seated quickly and given water immediately but had to wait a while to order, possibly because we were 30 mins late and it was now very busy. So we ordered our pre dinner drinks, wine, entrees and mains all at once. The entrees arrived first, THEN the pre dinner drinks (couldn't cancel them as we saw them being made as the entree turned up), immediately followed by the white wine. It was disappointing that I had to ask for a wine cooler that others had, as the wine would obviously not be drunk for a little while yet. We asked for the mains to be held back a bit and they were. We ate our delicious meal and the busy period subsided. Our empty plates sat on our table a tad too long. What was especially disappointing was that people behind us were served food, then the waiters walked straight past our obviously finished plates. 2 different persons asked us if we were interested in desert. Our water glasses were topped up eventually and then another 2 times. Yet despite that, the empty cocktail glass, that was finished a hour previously, was still on the table when we left. The manager/ bar attendant apologized spontaneously for the delay in pre dinner drinks as she was working alone. It was a Wednesday night and the place was full, so I recommend you book.

Great food and service. Fresh ingredients and a fancy swing on your normal Thai but still with the yummy flavors we are used too. Make sure you book though. Restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening.

The food was excellent, however both the entree and mains were not bought out at the same time. The wait staff were not really attentive and had to the waived down.

Excellent again! The food was absolutely delicious. Best Thai in Perth in my opinion! I can highly recommend this restaurant - you must book well in advance as they are always full.

The food was great, authentic taste. The venue and ambience was lovely. The service was not bad, though the only waiter worked on that day could have used another hand. Just wish they opened for lunch for more days other than just on Friday only.

Went to Galangal on 15th with friends, the food was fantastic and the service was efficient and very freindly. Will definetly return for another great experience.

Our favourite Thai restaurant, consistently good food and great service. The restaurant is always busy so recommend booking early - you definitely won't be disappointed

The welcome, food and ambiance were excellent, but the whole evening wash ruined by the only non Asian waiter called Nel!!! This guy needs to go for some serious lessons on how to talk to and treat customers!!!! Believe me we were not the only ones disappointed by this guy on the evening!!! Ask for any other waiter for service if you want to enjoy your evening.

Delicious food and reasonably priced. The portions aren't large but 3 dishes and rice were enough for 4 adults. I will definitely book there again.

I have been to Galangal twice now and the food is excellent. In fact my friends and I cannot speak highly enough of the food. But on both occasions the service was not good. The waitstaff are either not organised or there are not enough of them. They took ages to take our initial order and then on both occasions we had to get someone's attention to clear the entree dishes and prompt them for our mains to arrive. Following finishing the main course, again we had to search out a waitperson to clear the dishes and request to look at menus for desert. We will probably go back as the food is so good but the service is very disappointing and needs improving.
