Great food, friendly attentive staff. Galangal allow BYO Monday to Thursday you don't have to wait for a special occasion as the meal is reasonably priced.
Food was very tasty, not too spicy and service was attentive. We have been a few times before and the quality has been great each time.
Interior of the restaurant is beautiful. The staff are friendly. Tho they are a bit pricey but food was tasty and packed with flavour. Food presentation spot on too. Overall an excellent dining experience.
Great food, great service. This restaurant never lets you down. Reasonably priced too and good flavours in the food. Will definitely go back to this restaurant.
Lovely smart interior, ambience and excellent friendly service. The food is pricey, positioning Thai food in a more posher environment, but the food is delicious and full of flavour. Some dishes have a slightly small serving but generally the serves are decent and we went home full with some leftovers packed. You definitely get quality here and I'd be more than happy to come back again.
Visited on a busy Friday night, restaurant was understaffed so had to wait a while for our orders to be taken. The staff were really apologetic and sweet. They even offered us an Entree at no extra cost as consolation for the extra time waiting for our meals to arrive. The food is definitely the best Thai in Perth and we shall definitely return soon.
The entree were very good, but the main (i choose pad thai) was not that brilliant. The restaurant was very busy but the service was fast. Very nice staff.
I have been to this restaurant for few times. Both the food and service was amazing. I will recommend this restaurant to my friend for many occasions :)
The food was great. Looks like a small serving but when you have a bit of everything, it is just the right size serving. Customer service was good too.
Again not disappointed for our second order. Food was fantastic and the order was delivered well within the promised time frame. Definitely recommend giving them a try
The ambience of the restaurant is excellent and is backed up by the warm friendly service. we started with the tiger prawn dish as our entree and were presented with a large fleshy prawn with plenty of flavour to boot. Got mains we got the special, Penang lamb curry, which presented tender lamb cutlets immersed in a delicious creamy curry. Tasty dish but would have preferred lamb pieces soaked in the curry for further flavour penetration. Also had the barramundi lightly deep fried and coated in a spicy tamarind sauce, which was a delicious dish, and also got the garlic pepper stir fry chicken which was tasty. For dessert I had the lemon tart which was full of flavour and complimented by the vanilla ice cream. I also had tastes of the yummy coconut ice cream and the mango sticky rice which was yum too.
Nice restaurant - friendly staff - good quality food - good location easy to get to and good parking - nice and warm ambience will definitely recommend
Food excellent ( best Thai food we have ever had), service good but a bit disappointed to be charged 50c for a take home container, when food and wine was at top end prices anyway. Not offered tap water in carafe ( which would have been fine and we saw other tables having it) but only offered bottled water.
Food was yummy. Waiting staff polite and prompt. Atmosphere a bit noisy but clean and classy. Dishes were reasonably priced. Overall great experience. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent food as always. Highly recommended. Disappointed that BYO is not allowed on weekends though as the food is expensive (even if it is delicious, it is still pretty simple Thai) so taking your own wine was a bonus.
Delicious. Duck curry was to die for. Amazing prawn starter. Very reasonably priced for such quality food and service. Second time there and will go again.
A bit pricey for Thai but this isn't your typical Thai food we had the Tom Yum soup which was good and for mains we shared the Twice cooked pork belly and the Red curry Duck, both were nice but a little sweet for my palate.
Good food, beautifully presented, but all our party of six received their meals at different times. Rice came out very late and most meals were going cold in the meantime. Apparently, the staff were having problems with their computer system so were using the old style of taking the orders by hand. Used to work well. Got two bowls of complimentary rice for inconvenience. Nice touch.
It was our first time at Galangal, and all I can say is that the food was amazing and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this resturant and I will definitely be returning very soon.
Very nice food and service. A bit pricey, especially drinks. Used Entertainment Book app, so that added a mark to score. Atmosphere also upmarket and comfortable.
Great food and a good accompanying wine list. Service staff are a bit inexperienced. Location is good and the décor is surprising but very nice
Gorgeous food, flavour and presentation, beautiful ambience,. This is an upmarket Thai experience with great service and a clean and beautifully presented restaurant and kitchen. I would definitely go back
Good food, good service but small serve. First time visit and would return only if I have entertainment card to make it value for money.
The service was slow and staff seemed to need training collecting some dishes while others were still eating and leaving the rest siting for a long time. It took at least 30 mins even before they brought our first drinks. The starters were beautiful and tasty but the mains were bland and uninteresting in the main. The restaurant was extremely noisy. Not anywhere as good as the last time we went ☹️
They forgot our order And tried to lie about it Sat there for one hour with kids and watched everyone around us get served. Left without even having a meal. Won't go back and we live in the neighbourhood
Galangal has excellent food and service as always. Dishes are great to share in a group. A good regular for us. We will visit again
Food delicious, lovely presentation. I had to ask for my food which was delivered a long time after the other three. Service was a bit inconsistent and slow, but otherwise a great experience and would go again, but only as as special night because of the pricing. Decor beautiful.
Food was the best we have had here and it is consistently good. Great flavours and lovely fresh ingredients. Staff friendly and accomodating. Nice family evening out.
Very attentive staff, excellent service and beautifully presented restaurant. Food was very flavourful. Had the spring rolls, fish cakes, red duck curry and chicken cashew stir fry. We would recommend and will definitely return
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends - excellent food. Their first time and they were very impressed with the overall quality and price of the food.
good quality Thai food , well presented . Wait staff created a sense of rush , arriving to check whether we were ready to order within seconds of me taking my seat . Other guest had arrived a little earlier . we would of appreciated a slower pace ..had to ask for second course to be held
Food was fantastic and the service was great. All staff were friendly. The prices we good as well. We would not hesitate in recommending this to our friends
Very good service and very authentic food..great place to go any night of the week...always water on the table and wait staff all had a smile
Great food and great service. We are regulars at this venue and it is always consistent and reasonable priced. We highly recommend it to all.
Amazing as always! Great service, and super tasty food. A fantastic night out with friends that was made even better by the attention to detail the staff always give. Well done!
The food was great, the people serving were fine but the time between entre and main course of over one hour was way too long. We had to ask when was our main course coming. No explanation was forthcoming other than small food samples coming out which we didn't ask for or want. A simple apology of why the food was delayed was all we wanted and we would quite happily of waited. We all know things happen in the kitchen or a muck up in the order happens. Just keep the customer informed. You will be surprised how people handle the truth. Disgruntled customer. We wont be back.
Awesome Thai food on a busy Friday night ! Little gem in Mt Hawthorn. Friendly staff and services highlight the night. It's a must - try Thai restaurant in the northern suburb.
Delicious food with authentic flavours and great service! The roast duck with red curry was our favourite dish for the night. Will definitely go again!
Great food. Lovely flavours, quick service. One of the few places in Perth worth eating at regularly. Always busy so worth booking or you may be disappointed.
Our overall experience was excellent apart from a large piece of gristle in my helping of the Massaman curry. Loved the tasting plates. Staff were great.
It was a very busy Saturday night and the services was still very friendly and efficient. The food is fresh, tasty and very delicious. Could not fault anything.
Really good authentic Thai food with great flavours. The service was average but overall it was very well priced and had a good drinks list.
Excellent food and service. Always a real treat to dine there and love the whole menu. Very difficult to choose what to eat as you want to eat everything!
I could never get sick of going to this neighbourhood gem (we live around the corner!!) If I did have to travel to get there I can tell you it would be well worth it. Never had a bad dish yet - the food is truly sensational. When busy the service can be a little on the slow side but then the food arrives you forget the wait!!
Service good - food delicious. Have been many times and will come again. I would really love another fish dish on menu - maybe a steamed fish. Thank you
This is not the first time we have been to Galangal but I think it might be the last. The service last night was terrible, we must have been asked 6 times if we were ready to order after we actually have ordered by every waitress in the restaurant including the Maître D seating us. We ordered drinks and had to follow them the first time as they took ages to arrive at the table and when they did they were extra and wrong. The second order still forgot drinks when serving the table. The table had little space for four people and our assortment of dishes but the wait staff had no idea how to arrange the table to enable everything to fit, to be honest it was laughable. When the food arrived to be honest it was as expected, good tasty food. I wasn't overly impressed with the pig hair still on the pork belly so that was an immediate put off but otherwise the curry's were tasty, could have been warmer but very tasty none the less. All in all we will look at an alternate Thai restaurant in the neighbourhood which definitely rated much higher last time we were there. Definitely not the same Galangal we first went to 12 months ago.
We shared an entrée which we both enjoyed and were looking forward to the main course. When the entrée dishes were taken away we were given our used cutlery back which I thought wasn't very professional. In fact I asked for a clean knife, but the waitress forgot to bring it to me. A bit disappointing. My friend asked for some extra chile in fish sauce as he likes his food hot, but when he was served his main course the chile that was brought to the table was just from a bottle of chile sauce. I quite enjoyed my main course which was green chicken curry but not enough to want to go back for another meal. Our booking was at 6, so one of the first people to order our meal and the waitress that served us had a dirty uniform on, which again I felt was quite unprofessional. I was told the place was a cut above the rest but I didn't feel that it was at all.
I would have preferred that the online booking made it clear that there was no BYO on Friday and Saturday. The food is very good, but I think a tad overpriced. The good is no different to the previous place innVic Park. In fact the place there still serves the same menu for less. Plus it's BYO!! Next time I'll head to Vic Park.
Excellent flavours. Meals where a bit light on particularly the pork belly which we have had before and it has been generous. On this occasion there was very little pork.
The soup was good. The others very average. It was too cold by the way, you'll need a jumper to dine in. There is some waitress abensent minded.
