Deer Duck Bistro

The food and restaurant were delightful! The only let down were the duck fat potatoes as a side. While they were ok we expected something a bit more roasted.

Can't fault this restaurant - everything was amazing. Love it!

Everything was fabulous from when we stepped in the door. The food was magic. The service very attentive. And the decor was so comforting . Haven’t eaten anywhere better in Brisbane.

Really Fantastic. Good thing we like cauliflower though as 3 of the 5 meals in the degustation were cauliflower based. In 3 different ways and all very nice. Just glad it wasn't Brussel sprouts.

Fabulous! I would definitely recommend a visit, delicious food - we had the 5 course degustation menu with paired wines. They matched the wines amazingly, our favourite was the cauliflower risotto with truffle and sous vide duck.

Only slight imperfection was the lighting in the private dining room, which was overhead and somewhat glaring, compared with the subtle indirect lighting in the rest of the restaurant. Otherwise food and service were excellent!

It was an amazing experience. Very cosy and relaxing. The food was beautiful and when asked if you enjoyed the food you will quickly run out of synonyms for delicious.

Nice atmosphere, good wait staff, wine list ok. Unfortunately we found the food disappointing. Felt the balance of flavours were abit out. Other than the delicious pasta all the other dishes were abit on the sweet side. Portions sizes were abit small for the cost.

Fantastic atmosphere, food, cocktails and service. Can’t fault the night we had at Deer Duck. It is definitely more on the expensive side, but reasonable for a degustation. A must visit in Brisbane.

First time visit for us and it was worth it. Atmosphere was lovely and intimate, the wait staff were attentive without being creepy. We opted for the long course degustation and every course was lovely and beautifully presented. A truly wonderful way to spend 3 hours having amazing food presented at intervals that worked well for both tasting and enjoying. A great place to go for a special occasion dinner if you want somewhere that encourages quiet dinner conversation with good food and wine while surrounded by the eclectic olde world decor and a background of smooth jazz music.

Expensive but very good! Very special! Absolutely enjoyable, intimate and relaxing, perfect for our 20th Wedding Anniversary Dinner. My Wife and I were very pleased. Dietary requirements were ensured and were no trouble to achieve with the Chef. The young Waitress and Waiter were informative as to the contents of the various courses, explaining the many tasty and unusual combinations of ingredients. They were quiet, polite and respectful. It was a memorable evening. Thank You!

The long course degustation was fantastic. Best we have had in Brisbane. The only minor quibbles we had are that there werent many wines by the glass (fair enough for a smaller place), and the chairs were not the comfiest.

3 of the 7 courses were average. Serve size also not enough. Had to order my glass of wine 3 times before I got it

Had the mid week 5 course degustation special - complimentary champagne was lovely, food top quality, staff attentive, atmosphere and decor quirky and interesting. Will be returning.

Best degustation option in all of Brisbane - hands down. Delicious food, fantastic service and beautiful atmosphere. Beats the pants off if anything on Eagle St Pier, that's for certain.

First time visiter, absolutely did not disappoint. Inventive and delicious "long course" degustation, sparkling customer service and a cosy, classy but intimate atmosphere. Easily one of my favourite restaurants in Brisbane.

I wouldn't class the Deer Duck Bistro as fine dining, as advertised. The dishes lacked finesse and the venue was so badly lit you couldn't really see what you're eating. There are restaurants that are leagues ahead for the same price point.

Excellent everything except the portion sizes were rather small and was still feeling a little hungry afterward.
