delicious food I got the 10 course degustation good ambience and lovely staff

Degustation was great value for money. AS were the gin options.

Food, wine and service was absolutely fantastic, beginning to end. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Food was good, staff was courteous but lack of service. Understand degustation can take time but it took awhile between meals and no one came and asked us for top up drinks or how we were going.

Very good experience and we look forward to returning soon. Service was exceptional.

Our favourite degustation on Brisbane! We have tried the 5, 7 and 9 course degustations with matching wines, all of which have been fantastic! Their cocktails are also amazing! We will be back again soon!

Loved the vibe, all the food has amazing presentation. Really loved the Moreton bay bug, The amuse also great. Smoked venison also my favourite. But some of the food, not really my taste. Like the beetroot and strawberry espuma, also the duck leg gnocchi abit too salty. Really like the panna cotta pre dessert, bcoz not that sweet and refreshing. Kinda disappointed because the dessert menu changed, was waiting to try the creme brûlée. But the white chocolate mousse not bad.

After the fourth course - we didn't have cutlery.. for the duck dish and when we flagged a waiter, she said "someone would bring it out" 5 minutes later I spotted her again... and she said "ohhh, didn't they bring it out" No, was my answer. We also noticed we received different sauce plates for the same food..? and we received different plates to other people who received the same food at other tables..? It appears there is no Consistency.. For the price you expect a lot more, then was received. The Gin Cocktail was good. There was damp smell (almost a like wet dog) when we first arrived..? It needs to get fresh air through it..

Definitely go the long course you won’t regret it. Cant wait for our next visit

The place was great just had minor issues with the food, other than that it was great!

Stunningly elegant, classy, creative food and attentive informative staff. Loved it. Definitely recommend. Get the matching wines, too. Noisy party there. It should really be a romantic atmosphere- not really a loud group kind of venue. Still- a 10 out of 10 from me !

I dined with you the evening of Friday the 27/11/2020, I would like to firstly start off with the fact that from the moment we walked in we were greeted with nothing but smiles and this was carried through out every interaction of the evening regardless of the staff member. Each staff member’s knowledge of every course was exemplary and the staff member who explained the wine pairings, I could not fault her knowledge, friendliness or genuine excitement for the dishes about to be brought out. The food itself was in a word divine but to be completely honest words can not even come close to encapsulating the journey the flavours took us on. Thank you can not begin to express my gratitude towards the chef for such an eloquent pairing of flavour and texture in each an every dish. All in all it was truly an wonderful experience where we got lost in time to the point when we left we felt like we had been with you for less than an hour but it turns out it was much closer to four times that.

Overall it was a pleasant experience, but not as good as our previous visit. The booking said the seating time was about 1 hr 30 minutes, our 5 course meal took nearly 3 hours to be completed which is too long. A couple of dishes were better than the others, food was average. Some of the plates had fingers marks on them. The bread was served without any side dishes. We were not offered any after dinner drinks. It was a warm evening, but unfortunately the fan above us did not work. The toilets need to be sorted out which was an issue last time. There is only one ladies bathroom which is at the top of a long flight of stairs.

The food and service was excellent. We had the long degustation and it’s worth every penny. Of the nine dishes not one was anything but Devine. The smoke dessert that was newly in the menu is amazing!

We were sitting very close to another couple, and it was difficult to maintain a private conversation, and the sofa was shaking every time the other couple was laughing.

Food was perfect. Service could not be faulted one bit.

I should preface this by saying that I have been coming here for years. My partner and I share all our special occasions here together as it has been our favourite restaurant in Brisbane for some time. Last night he and I went to celebrate our joint birthdays together with the signature Long Course and I have to say, for the first time, we left kind of disappointed. The boneless pork rib was unbelievably tough in its bottom-most layer. The majority of the meat in the quail dish was stone cold, with the exception of the deep-fried thigh being piping hot. Lastly, the service is usually exceptional, with attentive staff who check-in after each course to see how we enjoyed it. We had a few waitresses that evening and I can confirm that for 8 of our 9 dishes we were not asked how everything was and we had to pass our feedback on retroactively. I will say that the lovely German lady with the short blonde hair who has served us for years was the one who asked us how that 1 course out of 9 was, and again checked in with us at the end of the meal. I cannot speak more highly of her professionalism and genuinely friendly approach to customer service. She is the most consistent thing about Deer Duck Bistro and a real credit to the restaurant as a whole. We are uncertain if we'll be returning in future.

The environment was very romantic, but the food was very average. Most of the dishes are cold food. the restaurant was so cold, we asked the manager to turn on the air-con, she agreed, but she never turned it on for us. The food came very fast one after another. the waitresses were very polite. I couldn't go again, it's not value for money.

It was good, however there was a bone a misplaced bone in one of our dishes. No apologies from staff or kitchen. One of their staff was condescending explaining which cutlery we should use. The food was delicious however especially the duck pasta.

Five of us loved every aspect of our dinner at Deer Duck. The food on the degustation menu was superb and beautifully presented, the service was impeccable with just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. We loved the quiet, genteel atmosphere - no loud music and the separate rooms means there is no loud conversation. We are planning a return visit.

We will be back. There was one course that unfortunately was not up to the standard of the others and there were a couple of little things with the service that could have been polished (reaching across in front of a diner to put down and collect plates to another diner). We were sitting by a door which lead outside which was not always closed with staff coming in and out so I had to get up and close it several times.

Best meal I've had in Brisbane. 10 / 10 .

A beautiful place for a special dinner with amazing food.

Deer duck was amazing, especially their gluten free alternatives to each meal. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was lovely. Absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to go back!
