I would recommend, and have recommended this restaurant to everyone I know for that "special" kind of dining experience that is offered. Beautiful and friendly staff always make you feel welcome.

Overall it was good. The food was amazing and staff was friendly. It took a bit longer than I thought. I also requested another glass of wine which never came and had to prompt twice for water to be served. Overall it was a good experience without anything special

Found the long course well presented, great quality and taste was good but not as amazing as our experience 12months ago. Did not feel the wines paired that well with a few dishes which reduced the quality of the dining experience. Still look forward to dining again.

Exceptional Experience. We booked the Deer Duck for lunch on a friend's recommendation. The food was exquisite, the staff knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. It was an exceptional dining experience.

We had the short course degustation option- one of us was vegetarian and had a slightly different menu. The food was exceptional, would thoroughly recommend, especially if there are vegetarians to cater for.

Food was actually pretty good but the service was a bit sloppy (thudding down plates in front of you at times like they were in a mood), terribly slow at the end, the girls just disappeared for ages, then would refuse to catch your eye when we wanted to pay. Ended up just taking ourselves to the front and stood there for ages before they appeared again from the kitchen. No apology unfortunately which just made for a lacklustre experience.

A wonderful experience complimented by outstanding food and an extensive, yet well priced, range of wines. The choice of degustation formats is a great idea, but I recommend going all in and doing the 9-course, as the food is amazing. The quiet and somewhat intimate atmosphere makes for a most welcome change too. All in all, a wonderful evening and a fantastic, memorable dining experience backed up by friendly, efficient and attentive service. A real treat!

First visit to Deer Duck Bistro and what a wonderful evening. Warm and welcoming staff, amazing menu and delightful setting. We chose the ‘Short Course’ degustation and enjoyed every course. My personal favourite was the venison tartare! Can’t wait for our next visit.

Amazing experience at Deer Duck last night. Our first dining out since covid hit and it was perfect. We have the long course degustation and my husband had matching wines. Every course was great, it was impossible to choose a favourite. The matching wines were fabulous and service was friendly and excellent.

A couple items on the menu were outstanding. The steak was too raw. The service very polite but too slow. The short course took us 2.5 hours.

Food was fantastic and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very charming. My only criticism was drink service. We were asked what type of water we would like and then never received water the entire night. We ordered wine before our meal order was taken however we were only served the wine with 2nd course. I prefer drink service to be served before any food arrives and the fact no one recognised we were waterless the whole evening was a bit disappointing however overall the food made up for the experience.

We had the 7-course menu (short course). Charcoal bread and flavoured butter were lovely, would have preferred having no salt crystals on the charcoal bread though (already enough saltiness from the flavoured butter). Our favourite course was the cured salmon with dill emulsion/ quinoa/ fennel - perfectly balanced. Other dishes were decent but nothing to rave about. Still a nice treat for a special occasion! Atmosphere was great, and each course came out pretty quick :)

We had the short course. Every dish was amazing and full of flavour. The staff were very professional and friendly. Would recommend.

Have been visiting this restaurant for many years now and the service and food are always first class. Thank you.

It was lovely even with the iso restrictions. Way too much food and would have been happy with just five courses rather than the short course of 7-8 dishes. But if a rich fur 1 and 1/2 hours to be honest. Staff need to focus on order of service as though while we arrived first we were always served our dishes last. Can’t wait for the return of free dining time to truly enjoy the dining experience again. We will be back
