Lovely atmosphere and great service. Quite a couple of the items weren't available (sashimi, tuna belly, fois gras). Portions were quite small so we left hungry.
Authentic japanese skewers with a modern twist of starters. A very nice place to eat and drink your favorite japanese beer at night. Very impressive
This is the second time I've been here. Great food and atmosphere. A little on the pricey side, but makes up for in taste and service.
This is a place eat and go quickly the space is very tiny, get yourself squeezed in and share a rectangle table or face on the wall Yakitoris were very good!
The awesome thing is, you can order just ONE of each skewer and since there was only 3 of us dining, We got one of each skewer to share and got to try alot. It was ALL good. Everything was fresh and authentic and flavoursome and exciting.
Amazing goyoza and all the skewers we got were so yummy! There is also a great sake list. i Will Definitely Be back there again!
Authentic yakitori bar with some modern twist but not too much. Cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. Meatballs with 62c egg are amazing. Love to go back again.
Lovely little Japanese restaurant just down from Oxford St. The food was absolutely delicious and a decent wine list too. It's small so be prepared to sit nice and close to other patrons along the shared tables. Staff are friendly and attentive.
Great little cosy venue with Tasty food and good service. Would definitely go again. Chicken hearts and the lamb skewers were definitely my favourite. See u again soon.
Good food in tiny restaurant! Only wished that the yakitori had more grilled smokes flavours to them, but otherwise full of flavour and great atmosphere!
The food was great! And the space was cozy and vibrant. I'd love to come back again for sure. So many things to try and enjoy!
Great yakitori, friendly staff who provided cheerful service, comprehensive list of beers and Japanese whiskies. Bookings essential and there are a couple of tables that can be booked for 2 people.
I really enjoyed our dining experience. The food was really good, portion size was great so it meant we could try many dishes and service was spot on. I will definitely be coming back with my friends.
Lovely little spot in Darlinghurst, White Rum Yuzu cocktails were great, try and avoid the seating against the wall, the centre shared table probably a better option. Nice staff friendly and attentive.
Had a good time. Food was good. Staff were efficient and pleasant. Very cosy sitting. Spent about $50 pp inclusive of one drink. Hardest thing was finding parking!
Skwers are awesome, one of the best jap skwers in sydney, the only thing is the sake options not really much, it will be much better if there's more options for customer to pick.
Great buzzy place. Food was okay. Good selection of yakitori but a bit bland. Beer was great. Love Japanese beer. Not sure i will be going back in a hurry.
Love this place!! Feel I am back in my local in Japan where I lived for 18 years. have been for ramen night (the BEST ramen I had in a very long time) and for the yakitori. All great. a good range of sakes - delightful staff and great atmosphere. I've been twice this month and will be returning again soon. Also love the fact that I can make a reservation for 2 there - am tired of places where I have to wait in line.
Lovely Japanese restaurant! Loved the food too! We were 10 people and struggled to find a reservation everywhere and they kindly placed us! We had a great night!
Good food and service was ok. The prawns entree was delicious and really enjoyed the plum cocktail. Was about $50 a head with drinks for 4 people. As it's quite a small restaurant, we found it got a bit loud.
Atmosphere and staff were great. Reasonably priced, food was good. Disappointed that the yakitori was cooked on an electric grill and were only sauce seasoned.
Great food great ambience great service great sake selection! The desert was surprisingly good too. Would be nice to have a few more selections on the yakitori menu since it's so good!
We love Chaco bar. It's always great and the staff are so friendly. We are so glad the yakitori kitchen is back up and running.
Ordered lots of food and they were all amazing! Our favourites were the tuna belly and pigs ear tataki, tsukune meatballs with 62 degree egg, chicken crackling and pork belly yakitori. It was all so tasty and good quality ingredients. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, would definitely recommend!
Food was yummy, in particular all the grilled chicken parts. My fav dish was the chicken skin. Enjoyed the ambience and selection of jap alcohols.
We had a great experience at the Chaco Bar. Food was authentic and the staff was friendly. The only downfall of this place is that it is too small. You must make a reservation to guarantee a table.
It is always great to visit chaco bar because their food is great and the service and friendly. It is an intimate restaurant with good vibes.
Great selection of yakitori in Sydney. Good selection of beers and sake. Center communal table and host large parties, but must book ahead. Restaurant is small and always packed, so bookings are a must.
Nice vibe and great authentic yakitori. Entrees have a modern twist presentation with still having an amazing authentic flavors. Great choice of Japanese beers and other drinks.
Very nice food and atmosphere. Some may consider a bit over price.
Great food, great atmosphere, great people, just a great night out! Best way to sum it up? So much yum! There will be no regrets.
Cosy place, with great decor and fabulous authentic japanese food ! Good range of dishes available and great staff service. Ocean perch with eggplant was the best.
Amazing food, great place to have a birthday with some close mates! The yakitori was beyond compare, the chicken skin was orgasmic. Great selection of Japanese beverages too.
Amazing food and the selection of the grilled meats is incredible! Panfried gyoza is a must!!! It's a cute, tiny place - very Japanese with friendly service. Thank you!
Food was lovely, very authentic. Staff were friendly. Was a little shocked to have to pay $5 for a bowl of steamed rice. Loved my cocktail, it's a must have!
It was amazing taste. Also service was really polite. This is genuine Japanese yakitori and restaurant. I want everyone to eat genuine Japanese food. I was happy.
The food was amazing! Very traditional and simple flavours. My favourite meal was the Pork Belly & Wagyu tongue. I had never had sake before and definitely matched well with the yakitori.
Food was ok i didn't think it was amazing though. There also wasn't enough staff or they weren't paying attention as we constantly had to call out to them
The food and the service were absolutely outstanding. We love the yakitori, especially pink liver and chicken crackling. It feels like a mini journey to Tokyo.
Quaint little yakitori bar. Been here a few times. The food was cooked well and the green plum drink I had was delicious. I cannot remember the names of the dishes and they do seem to change their menu from time to time. My favourite dish was always going to be the 62degree egg chicken skewer. The only gripe was being served our food after other diners who ordered after us.
Great food. Good service and atmosphere. Highlights were the Ebi mayo crunchy prawn, house sizzling gyoza w/chilli sauce, black cod and special king fish sashimi.
It's small but there's no stinging on food or service. The menu is diverse with chicken heart pork belly and pipis on offer; there were fine dining specials and "cheap eats" options. We had a gorgeous vegetarian dish with eggplant, which my daughter usually won't eat, cooked in a perfect blend of charred and salty tastes. Great she said.
Lovely vibe great food. Was hoping for a ramen but it wasn't available on Wednesday night, maybe only for lunch. Would recommend if your looking for a nice night out. $100 for two
Probably the best Japanese place I've visited in Sydney. We tried different types of skewers which were amazing including heart and asparagus which I normally wouldn't order. There was nothing we didn't like, will definitely go back.
Food was delicious - service was great. Such a quaint little place to enjoy quality Japanese food. Highly recommend. You will need to book as it's only small :)
Great service, sake and food - everything ordered is recommendable! If gizzards aren't your thing at least try the chicken skins - crispy goodness. Specials like truffle on kingfish were great - super fresh! Went twice in a month and super keen to try ramen next!
The food was great. Their yakitori was the best I have had in Sydney. I always find it hard to find good Japanese, but I think I have found my new favourite place for dinner. I loved their Japanese drink list as well
Service and food were great, but it is not good value for money. Yakitori is supposed to be peasant food, so the per skewer price should be reviewed.
This is our first visit and we really enjoy it. The dishes we love most are the snapper sashimi ,the miso black cod and everything about the skewers - the wagyu tongue, asparagus pork, pink centered liver, thigh...
Small but cosy. Staff are polite and attentive. Beautiful food including but not limited to pipis, scallop, chicken heart skewer, tuna and pig's ear tataki. You can feel the scallop bursts in your mouth with the perfect tenderness and freshness of the sea. Chicken heart is tender to the extent that I thought it was not cooked enough at the first bite. Pipis have plump sweet meat and full of flavour mixed with intriguing scents from herbs. Tuna and pig's ear tataki presents the excellent combination of crispiness and tenderness, between which there's is mouthful of coriander, sesame and a hint of spiciness that brings this dish to another level. John Dory and king prawn dumplings came with a lot of chilli on the top, although it doesn't mention the word "spicy" in the menu, so we had to return it. I highly recommend green tea to go with the skewers if you don't drink alcohol. It was a great dining experience for us. We will definitely go more often.
