Cool little spot. Food was decent and the vibe matched what you would expect from a small japanese restaurant. Reminds me of my time in Japan

Fantastic- only downside not having something on the menu we wanted initially. Portions are really small, which encourages you to spend more, but definitely quality 👌

Finally got a chance to go after hearing really good reviews from family and friends. Nice cosy atmosphere and the food was great! Very good customer service given it was a fully booked night!

Nice food but too many people seated at communal table which makes for not such a comfortable dining experience. Need to relieve the seating somewhat, given its such a small space also. Otherwise, would be great! Food is very good.

Too crowded and noisy.. cant chat with friends in a normal voice. And the food taste is quite salty, not my type. But overall, not bad

So yum and excellent service. Extremely authentic food and the desserts are an absolute delight. Friendly staff. The only area for improvement is that the staff could pace the food better....it seeemed to all come out at the same time

This was our 2nd time here. The first time was over a year ago when they were still BYO and it was Amazing! This time I felt that Chaco bar has lost its charm a bit...

Overall nice experience but not outstanding. Friendly service and good atmosphere, but the skewers were actually just okay. I'm in no hurry to go back anytime soon.

Tiny portions, very expensive, tiny pours of wine and you literally have everyone sitting on your lap. Also you could hammer nails with the black cod dish.

Really good variety of sticks from seafood (cod) to exotic gizzards / chicken heart. Also have daily specials such as Tasmanian sea urchin rice bowl. Very busy.

Brilliant yakitori that is quintessentially Japanese and of very high quality. There is always something new to try on the menu at Chaco Bar, great specials, staff are generous and welcoming and always eager to explain the dishes on the menu, great hospitality & atmosphere, have never been disappointed.

Excellent food in a cool, casual environment. The black cod was especially delicious as were the prawn sliders. It's tough to get an actual separate table so be ready to sit at the big middle table in bar-like seating.

The Chaco Bar is a tiny and very cozy restaurant. The food is authentic and everything we tried (which was the Chefs Skewers as well as Gyoza, Edamame and all kinds of other Skewers) was delicious. It is the typical Japanese 'simple dishes done to perfection' thing. Would recommend anytime! For being such a small restaurant it wasn't as loud as I expected.

The absolute BEST Yakatori in Sydney. Chaco Bar is an incredibly authentic experience, transporting you back to the Izakaya's littering the alleys of Shinjuku and Shibuya. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and were more than helpful in picking out Sake and Sochu. The food is some of, if not, the best Yakatori we've had (yes including in Japan). All the dishes were excellent and moreish. The John Dory tiger prawn dumplings, silky miso eggplant, and Enoki and pork roll were some of our favourites. But oh my, the chicken crackling! It is exactly what is sounds like and it is awesome, get it. For the quality of food, it is certainly reasonably priced. We will be back, many times. This place is our new favourite restaurant. :D

I liked the ambiance of the place, reminded me of the small bars of Tokyo a bit. I was very disappointed though that they did not serve ramen on the day, as that was the main reason we had chosen the restaurant.

Great food! All dishes we ordered were wonderfully prepared. Be warn though the bar is quite small so you definitely need to book to get a table. The set up of the bar reminds me of the the small eateries in Tokyo!

Food is good. Service and attitude is crap. Good little neighbourhood jam if they can stop employing a waitress who doesn't want to be there.
