Menu has changed, most of the dishes showed online were not available anymore. We sat there for 15minutes and no one attended to us.

Edited: Pulled pork taco was nice. Mild flavour, but nice texture and it all goes well together. Chai latte is nice. Miso egg benedict was not bad. Went again and had chili prawn scramble. While I loved the tempura prawns, i dont know if i like the sauce they use in prawn scramble egg. It came with roti but not sure if the chutney works with roti or is it supposed to be eaten with something else. In general wouldnt order this again, and this time hot chocolate was very sweet!! Nice friendly staff. Always does well with appearance of food, and good variety of lunch. Hot chocolate is rather weak and not sweet. My black squid ink pasta tasted beautiful, just rather small serving for $27. Finally came here after wanting to go for a long time. Nice cafe across the old cinema. Has modern feel, staff are friendly. Had their brekkie roll that came with waffle fries. It’s been ages since I had waffle fries and this one is perfect! Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Also well seasoned. The brekkie roll was beautiful with some beautiful chutney. I was very impressed, this brunch/lunch just hit it bullseye. Matcha latte was ok I think, I cant remember, I think it wasn’t sweet. It is the best cafe I have had so far in Croydon. Also tried their french toast which was nice, love the custard they put on it. Spiced pumpkin latte tasted just like normal coffee, and mint hot chocolate only has faint minty taste. Raspberry crumble cake was not bad.

Great to be able to book a table, all set up with a high chair. food and service excellent. coffee tastes great and no Sunday surcharge!

Food and coffee were nice but portion is small and little bit pricey

We enjoyed the food, but think that there is too much cinnamon in the ricotta spread for the fruit toast.

This place is humming and a great addition to Croydon

Not to tarnish the reputation of the restaurant, as our visit may have been a one off - however our experience was poor. More often than not, when you're seated in the corner of the restaurant, you get forgotten about, which is exactly what happened. My coffee order didn't take too long, however was the wrong order. The correct order eventually came, with an unwashed spoon. My wife ordered a bottled juice that didn't come - we had to remind the staff twice. During this time we also had to prompt the staff to take our food order. Our food eventually arrived, without cutlery or serviettes which again, we had to ask the staff for. Luckily we asked for serviettes as the bagels we ordered fell apart completely. This is my honest description of how it went. I will always be understanding, polite and courteous to staff, as basic human decency is a must, however a decent standard of service must be reciprocated. I'm sure others have had a great experience, however for a Sunday lunch, our experience was rather one to forget.

Great coffee, great food, fabulous staff! Highly recommend! Also love they gave newspapers there for customers to peruse. We will be back for sure.

We didn’t realize we would be put outside and so a number of us were not dressed appropriately as it was quite cold and windy. It would have been good to have been told in advance that we’d be outside Otherwise lovely food and great service- just quite cold, therefore not the best ambience and got us moving quicker than usual!

Great chai, food was amazing! Very filling and tasty brunch

I had a pretty good experience at the cafe yesterday. We had a reservation for 6, and our table was ready right when we walked in. The staff quickly took our drink orders and returned right on time to take our food orders. The food came out a bit slowly; some of us were almost done eating by the time others received their dishes. The cafe was packed, so I understand why they didn’t clear the empty plates, even though some people were sitting there for a while. The portion of squire ink linguini was a bit small for lunch, while my spicy prawn dish was large I couldn’t finish it. The chips were very nice.

Everything was good except the avocado on toast which had two very small slices of bread compared to my scrambled eggs on toast. I wouldn't usually mind but this is the second time it's happened to us.

Very good and awesome people and And service and good food

We had a pleasant experience at Blackwork for breakfast for three people. The food was very good, the coffee could have been a little stronger and a chai we ordered came in a glass vessel that had not been cleaned properly but was replaced very quickly and without fuss.

The food was fantastic and the staff were lovely too!
