Wagyu Ya

The staff were untrained and didn't know what they were doing. We went inside at arrival time and were told to wait outside (cold and rainy) while they set up. Then another staff told us actually it was all ready so we had to get back in again. -- No communication between management and staff! It was over staffed. There were at least 4-5 staff around our table at the beginning--so we couldn't sit down properly. It was too dark inside for my mum in law to actually see the food. Tatami was no good for old people and it was not communicated to us when I made the booking. They had no idea what customer want! 3 staff were wandering around our table doing nothing but I had to actually get out of my way and wave at them to get their attention -- I didn't know where were they looking at... Food was quality but service experience was so bad that it actually out weighed the good quality of food. I think the management should pay more to get well trained and experienced staff for what the customer is paying rather than underpaid international students!!

although the environment was noisy,the service was good and wagyu was yummy and tasty.It is worthy of trying

it was a great night, Food was pretty nice. The only things is that don’t make booking on weekend. Too busy very limited time for a dinner.

Staff, service and ambience fantastic. All 8 dishes beautifully presented and delicious bar 1 . The bbq beef ribs were tough and had to be chewed as one piece We couldn’t just bite into it . Will definitely return 😃

Food was great however, I have to chase for our sake as they forgot about it. The waiter did not apologise or doing anything about it.

Reserved seats 2 days ago for BBQ menu but only arrange first floor seat with limited menu with no reason, limited experience and limited service.

Very delicious wagyu (esp the oyster blade), however with the 90min seating time, it feels really rushed. We ordered 8 items and were trying to scoff down the items. Didn’t help either with no explanation on how we should cook/cut the steaks.

M9 Wagyu Short Ribs, M10 Oyster Blade was delicious and melt in your mouth. Highly recommend just adding a bit of salt and lemon juice to bring out the wagyu's natural flavour and cut through the oil. The ox tongue steaks were a bit of a let down, they were very firm and hard to chew. Salmon belly sashimi was very fresh and sweet

The meal was great, service was very helpful. We really like it.

Food was very good, beef is very tender and juicy, the waiter is a little bit push and impatient. Only have around one hour dining time is a bit hush.

We love the bento box that only available on weekday lunch. It’s Variety of BBQ beef, fried chicken , croquettes and potatoes salad with rice and miso soup. Good quality of food and good service. Place is very small good to book in advance.

My cousin recommended Wagyu Ya during our Melbourne trip from Sydney knowing we love Japanese food and booked table for my mum’s birthday in advance for 9ppl and got 2 tables upstairs. When ordering, I was not made aware of lunch special menu until I asked (since I saw the lunch special menu on the website) and was told by the waiter that “.. usually for upstairs we’d like you to order from the main menu..”) to which I reply: but I need to order simpler menu for the kids. Only then, I was given the lunch special menu. Overall, I would appreciate more transparency to both menus considering the lunch special menu is not much cheaper at all, just different. We love the food albeit it’s on the pricey side , we came back the next day to try their lunch special menu and asked to sit downstairs to avoid missing out on lunch special menu.

Another lovely Sunday lunch with friendly service and great food

I went to Wagyu on 21/07 Sunday (book our table 3 days before)with my wife and the give us a small table near the stairs.After the dinner I wrote a review to told them if we have a better table we will order more. On 04/08 we went back again and book the table 3 day before.We always on time and the same waiter from last time show me the same table as last time.I ask him May I have the bigger table which is near to my table.He told me the table is for 4 persons.But after 10 mins they give it to another couple. Although the food is not to bad but the do not care customer’s opinion and do not take care repeat customer.I will not go back again.
