Pasta with sausage mince was delicious with lots of flavour. Also enjoyed the pizza with ham and mushrooms. Maitre d' seemed to be a little stressed with the arrival of theatre crowd. Very pleasant sitting near the water.
As usual the food was great and service was good. Great restaurant to go to before attending a show across the road. We will certainly return.
Delicious food,- antipasto, pasta, roasted pork to die for!! great wine list, good food choices. Great location( opposite Sydney Theatre Company)- ideal for pre- theatre meals!
Great food-especially barramundi and gnocchi ragu Terrific value Good kids food with ample portions Lovely service with good experienced chefs and team who know what they’re doing Staff really care about customers
Great view, good service. We came on a public holiday so it wasn’t very busy. Lamb Gnocchi was soft and yummy. Seafood pasta could be better.
Very reliable experience all round. Efficient friendly service, excellent Italian fare and a great location. Just across from the theatre too. Hard to beat. We will be back
Fantastic location. Good food but the service is lousy. Staff are rude and unwelcoming. We have been regular customers for several years and we have noticed that the restaurant is under new management which may explain the poor service. We will not go back again.
Excellent service, just what needed for pre-dinner snack. Will be back. Food good too, and terrific wine list. Top location so close to the water. What else can one wish for in a Sydney dining experience?
I have been to Ventuno many times for different occasions. The food is always great and it is a good restaurant to dine at pre-theatre.
Excellent quick service before theatre with delicious Italian food. Sit outside to enjoy the view. Waiter was very charming. Lamb gnocchi was delicious and so was the gelato.
Very nice indeed, great food, service and location. We particularly liked the water view on the rustic, historic wharf precinct. A slice of Sydney rarely seen. Plus the food was extra tasty.
My first time here and a very pleasant one. They're everything you'd want from a restaurant, friendly staff, cozy environment, they have a lovely dockside view and, of course, spectacular food at reasonable prices. You won't regret, big thumbs up!
We had a good table with a lovely view over the water. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the meals were all delicious, especially the desserts. We will definitely visit again when we have more time and not rushing to the theatre.
Good table, inside on a cool night. Quick attention, pleasant waitress, food well spaced for a pre-theatre dinner. Well located for Roslyn Packer theatre, and noticed other theatre attendees had obviously selected this restaurant too.
Great pizza, thin crust and lot of good flavour toppings. Service was attentive but not over the top. We ate pre theatre and 2 pizzas and drinks Reasonable value
Good food and good service. We were going to an early session at the theatre and everything ran smoothly. A delicious ragu with the gnocchi. Id like to have a more leisurely meal there next time.
We needed a place close to the theatre in Hickson road The Rocks and booked Ventuno. Entrance is on Hickson Rd or along the wharf. Food is fresh, delicious and creative. Lovely service, MD great style. Priced accordingly Go there
From the ease of booking, friendly greeting, excellent food and pleasant helpful service, amazing view. We will be back. It was a wonderful meal pre-theatre.
Great venue with efficient service and a great variety of food and wine 🍷 An excellent outdoor seating area on a warm night prior to the theatre!
Good harbour views, excellent food, value for money, attentive and friendly staff; we had such a good experience that we had dinner the following week.
As always, a great meal and service. Never fails to impress. We found Ventunos when we had theatre membership, now we just go there whenever we can. Mark
Ventuno is a good spot for a pre-theatre dinner. We enjoyed zucchini flowers for a shared entree and tasty, fresh pizzas for our mains. They were very busy so we were at a communal table, but that was just fine anyway. Recommended!
Absolutely loved my spagetti pescatore (fish) instead of dessert I had a cheese plater which was delicious but far too big for one would be a good share plate option. Pinot Gregio was fantastic. The service is always so efficient and friendly I would say mostly Italians and they are all charming. Lastly the location is breath taking such a nice place to have a bite to eat before wondering across road to Sydney Theatre Company. Looking foward to my next visit.
It was a busy night in the restaurant. Some food was slow coming to the table and they forgot one of the side salads. I think the waitress got confused with the order as there were 8 of us, but it would’ve been worth her going over the order before heading off to the kitchen. Food (pizzas and caprese salad) was very good and apparently risotto was excellent. We all complained about sitting on benches. We must all be getting old as our backs hurt without support! I won’t go back unless I can be guaranteed a proper chair.
The food was excellent and the harbour side location was very nice. Unfortunately the service, though, was not. Very poor and we were disappointed overall.
Good service at a busy time, food delicious, pleasant sitting outside. Choice of food for those wanting to avoid gluten. Noisy inside as there are many hard surfaces for sound to bounce off as there are in so many restaurants. Easy to hear each other outside tables , the further out towards the water , the better.
Great location, fabulous food and lovely staff. Great expreince we will be back thank you. Gnocchi was Devine and the Tiramisu is an absolute must
Beautiful spring evening spent by the harbour at Ventuno Restaurant. Friendly, relaxed yet efficient service. Authentic Italian platters and pizzas. After dinner, best espresso I’ve had in a long time.
Pre theatre meal. Service was efficient. Food came quickly. One main was described as excellent the other was good. Nice Tiramisu but portion a bit small. All other portion sizes very good.
Good place to go pre-theatre. The restaurant was well managed and the staff very helpful. The food was very well cooked and very tasty. Very pleasant evening.
A quick pre-theatre meal - food was good and location is very picturesque. Nice Italian wine and great coffee that we took as a takeaway as we were were leaving.
I’ve always loved this restaurant but on this occasion the spaghetti pescatora was so salty it was hard to eat and my friend’s fettuccini fungi was gluggy and set like a rock so that it couldn’t be twisted on fork. Disappointing.
Very understanding.we were late due to traffic and they gave quick service so we made our play ,we really recommend them .delicious and great service
Great food & service! Very accomodating as we had 4 children under 5 years of age. Made sure there was enough space for our double pram. Simply amazing staff every time we come!
The food and the atmosphere was great. The dessert especially was phenomenal and the perfect way to end a meal! Thank you for a wonderful night out!
The service was friendly and prompt, the food was delicious, the location was great and we were in and out before the show at the theatre started
it was a rainy night and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. The food was excellent and the service was very good .... it wasn’t our first visit and have never been disappointed, highly recommended!!
Good food without being spectacular . Service was good but perhaps slightly impersonal. The wine we chose was excellent Quite good value for the money.
Excellent service- Giuseppe and his staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Excellent cuisine- refined flavours and fresh seafood. Excellent location - whether it's sunny or overcast, the water view is fantastic.
Terrific service and very tasty food. Varied menu and good wine list. Always very worthwhile. Great theatre dining. Beautiful location. What more could you want?
Delightful Italian restaurant in an enviable location. Great food - the pizza and spaghetti pescatore were excellent and charming staff. Highly recommended. Make sure you make a reservation as a very popular place.
Great food from a traditional menu, good wine list, nice background music and good atmosphere. Service was a fraction prickly at times. Would still return again though.
The food was just OK but the service was rough and ready. The lamb ragout on the gnocchi was full of gristle. One dessert was served so early that it was completely finished before two more were served, then a while later the fourth was simply dropped in front of the diner. Not very pleasant, this is why we did not tip.
Good food and service and very quick before the theatre. Just a bit too dark (could barely read the menu) and noisy. Will go back.
X x x It was nice and as expected. The food came out promptly and fresh. The staff were efficient and responded to our requests. X x x
Delicious Italian Fare. An extensive menu using fresh and seasonal ingredients. Great wine list. Efficient and fast service. Attentive staff. Convivial atmosphere. The perfect pre-theatre dining experience.
The service was prompt and friendly. We had a mixed platter for entre and both of us had the spaghetti pescatore, which was delicious. Spaghetti was perfect.
Service was very good. Food was also good. Thought there should have been greater variety of fish offer and some veal dishes. Wine was excellent.
Been here many times and one of our favourite places to eat with friends but today it fell a bit short with presentation, service and Sunday surcharge.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. The temperature inside the restaurant was comfortable. The tables were a little close to each other which meant that conversations were not private but that didnt spoil the evening
