Tried the usual hainan chicken, want to try their roasted version but its sold out or not being done
We had a private room for 10 of us and it was very pleasant. the food is fantastic and service was outstanding. We were told we ordering too much so the waiter is really honest and helpful. would visit again
Food is good. Front of house really professional but the other waitresses seemed to be undertrained.
Friendly service and drinks were amazing. It was very unfortunate, there wasn’t much oomph to the savoury dishes. They were quite sweet in fact.
The food was superb and the service was excellent. Apart from the noise level, we would be happy to recommend to others and we told them. Very pleased we went.
Service was good and food is tasty. A little small in portion. Nice atmosphere.
yummy peking duck. thin pancakes and smoked peking duck. great service attentive and friendly staff.
Nice food. Definitely going back for more! The XO fried rice is so yummy
Great atmosphere and excellent food. Would highly recommend the mushroom truffle rice and hainanese chicken.
Great value, good vibes and food is surprisingly good; expected it to be a service oriented restaurant with mediocre food but got so much better
Absolutely amazing decor but noise level is a big issue which is unavoidable. The lobster noodles dish wasn't as good as expected. Lobster meats tasted off.
Best Char Kway Teow I’ve had in Melbourne! Very good food
Really nice ambience and food was delicious. Their crispy pork and Peking duck was good.
Sophisticated atmosphere. Great weekday lunch menu. We enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch in their private room at the back. Highly recommend this restaurant
Good food as usual but not as pleasant. Customers at the bar are very loud.
Tried for the first time and wasn't disappointed. The only thing is the waitress was lacking experience.
Roast pork noodle is superb. This is what we always come back for
First time eating here and was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be going back to try their other offerings
Amazing service and environment. The food and cocktails exceptional Highly recommend.
one of the best peking duck in melbourne. of all their roast meats definitely the duck is the best.
Decided to try out their bottomless brunch. their cocktails and bubble tea were very nice. but their yum cha was average. jaffles were nice but being fried a tad bit oily. the football dumplings had thick shell. rice roll similar problem thick skin. prawn crystql dumplings were nice but their skin at the edge is a bit hard. waiting times were long and as they restrict ordering 6 items at a time, towards the end you do feel rushed and wanting to order more. staff very friendly and will come around to ask if need top up.
I ordered spicy pork and prawn wonton, signature roasted platter, Sichuan Fragrant eggplant, salt and pepper squid, Char kuay teow and ox sauce fried rice. All of them tasted so good especially the eggplant. I gave ten thumbs up👍
This time tried the satay mixed, prawns fried with salted egg and usual full hainan chicken with chicken rice. the satay was a let down but dry, satay sauce good. salted egg good and hainan chicken as usual was good. Also got takeaway large truffle fried rice which meant 2 boxes of fried rice, this was pretty good and the truffle taste not overpowering.
This time came for lunch, their lunch menu is different as they have single Hainanese chicken and rice. also got takeaway three roast and rice and beef noodles. the roasts are pretty high standard. definitely recommend using liven as it makes it hugely worth it
Very busy weekday lunch. long waiting time. had the mixed roast and chicken. the hainan chicken rice was nice but the portion they gave was chicken breast, would have preferred trying their chicken thigh portion. that being said, it was still quite tender. the mixed roast only the duck stood out as clear winner. the roast pork and charsiu was ok but nothing special
Loved our dining experience here! Service was great and the food was delicious. Highly recommend hainan chicken!
Another repeat visit due to liven package, this time came with my friend for dinner who had been before. Tried the lobster noodles and pipis, probably not a great combo as they both combined were quite alot of gravy which we ate with you tiao. Reportedly the lobster noodles used to be better, anyway would try different dishes next time
i will likely have to eat the menu as ive bought a care package. This time came alone for dinner and tried the fried noodles and asaparagus dish. They checked with me that im not actually vegetarian as the asparagus is fried with Chinese sausage. fried rice noodles were smooth and not broken. Pretty good standard.
All the dishes we ordered were amazing. Will definitely dine at Tian 38 again!
Food is superb. Best roast pork in Melbourne, will definitely come back
lovely unlimited brunch (90mins seating) worth it if youd like cocktails for brunch
The food was delicious! We cannot wait to go back again!
Great Hainanese chicken used liven package to make things half price so will be back soon
Great food, amazing service with awesome ambiance! Thank you as always for another wonderful meal.
All the staff were amazing, the food was unbelievable and the venue was real tasteful. Loved it
I had dinner on a week night and was immediately greeted by friendly staff. The food is delicious, amazing aroma and don't forget to ask the bar staff to make you their special version of espresso martini.
Great food and the service was good , will eat here again.
I attended Tian 38 on Saturday 27th June 2020. The food was pretty bland, but the promise of a bottomless brunch for $69 still kept our spirits up. Unfortunately it failed to deliver. After 60 minutes we had only been served two drinks and a round of food. Some of the food was cold such as the rice noodle rolls and the scallop dumplings. At the end of the session we had 4 hungry and thirsty people. Would I come back? No way, which is a shame. This place could have been so much better.
Good food and nice experience. On the other hand, uncomfortable chairs
We absolutely recommend Tian 38, we've eaten lots of Hainan chicken in Melbourne and overseas, but this must be one of the very best. Rice texture is perfect. Loved the Wagyu beef rendang, tender and just falls off the bone. The seared scallops and golden prawns coated with salted egg yolk are a must try. Thumbs up to the brussel sprouts (my kids don't eat brussel sprouts usually) and chilli crab jaffles. Very friendly and prompt service, and the head chef came over to chat a few times, feels like we're long time friends! Definitely recommend, we'll be back.
Good first experience. Nothing else. All good. Thanks you !!
Delicious food every time - highly recommend - closest to authentic Singapore chicken rice we've been able to find in Melbourne!
The staff were lovely the food very tasty will be returning
Delicious food enjoyed with family and friends thank to staff
We had the best time, the staff made us very welcome. The food we gave it a 9/10 and finished off with cocktails. All in all and wonderful night.
Food ambient staff were awesome!!! Highly recommended might work for date night too
Where to start? The cocktails were amazing the service was impeccable the food was fabulous. Who comes up with these combinations of ingredients? I would come back for the Brussels sprouts but haven't even tired the Kung Pow cauliflower yet. A brilliant dining experience.
Nice place, good food and reasonably priced. Service was efficient.
Great service, tasty food, good atmosphere. Would recommend for casual business lunch in upmarket setting
The food was good and not so good. The service was great. Looking forward to trying the cocktails.
