It's wonderful to see an old building being re-purposed & well used. It's a large cafe with a modern & fun atmosphere & there's even a kids corner. The staff interaction is welcoming, polite & fun, matched with great service, but dare I say, surpassed by the excellent food at very reasonable prices. I'll keep bringing friends here to spread the word.

I had a fantastic experience at the Smug Fig! The food was inventive and artistically presented, and obviously tasted great! The staff were beyond accommodating (eg. some of us went into the shop next door while we waited for our order to arrive, and our waitress actually came into the store to let us know our food was served - because she didn't want our meals to get cold!) The atmosphere was great but I would recommend coming at lunch (as we did) rather than brunch, because when we arrived, around 11:45, the place we packed and very loud - but by the time we ordered (around 12pm) most people had left and it was quiet and pleasant.

Was good thanks. I ordered the beet and potatoe Fritters plus I had a coffee. It was all really nice. There was a slight mix up with our order. We vego but we’re accidentally given bacon. Love the cafe atmosphere:)

Really great food and lovely atmosphere in a nursery full of plants. Fun creative menu, the chicken and waffles were really great. Delicious fresh squeezed juice. Could do with A/C though!

It was a hot day, so I'll put most of these problems down to the heat. The staff were glum, no smiles, they scraped the chairs along the ground when moving them. There were flies hanging around our food and us. The food was ok, but nothing stand out. I had a haloumi stack and expected the haloumi to stand out but it just didn't. My husband had the Southern Chicken burger which seemed good. His fries were amazing. After a bit great experience with the food, we went elsewhere for coffee.

The food was great, coffee was good and the atmosphere (although there was only one other diner in the cafe at the time) was wonderful. Shame about the traffic noise but that can't be helped.

The Cafe is inside a small shop/garden centre. There are antiques, a modern boutique and plants to choose from. Service was excellent as was the food and reasonably priced. There was a breeze the morning we attended but imagine it could get a little hot on warmer days

Nice setting, although a few flies around, and a little hot in summer. No Aircon. Fairly friendly service. Food variety descent. Flavour and value for money average. Coffee great, as good as should be.

Food was lovely - great homemade passionfruit soda water - relaxed atmosphere. Love being able to poke around the little shop and garden centre after lunch.

Delicious food with good range in a relaxed atmosphere. Service was perfectly timed and coffee was excellent. Will definitely be back to sample further menu items.

We arrived at noon and were quickly ushered to a table by a congenial waiter. Our table overlooked one section of the nursery so was atmospheric and reasonably quiet. Coffees came very quickly. Our meals were a little longer in coming but worth the wait.

Had the pulled pork burger which I thought was well below average. Desserts were a bit better but it would have been better if the choices were displayed. Only reason I've given an above average rating is for the whole experience of antiques, lovely gifts and clothing stores + nursery. Won't be rushing back for the food or ordinary service!

A surprising oasis to be found in bustle of East Brisbane. Cool and quirky feel. Make sure to try their specials which are pretty unique offerings.
