The Governor Hotel

Welcoming staff and food was delicious! Menu seemed to have something to please everyone! Good location and nice interior but I visited on a Saturday night and parking was quite limited for the size of the venue. Hopefully will improve when train station reopens.

Extremely noisy during peak periods. My Wagu Ragu needed more sauce. Venue atmosphere is very on trend, bright and light. Tables in booths beneath deer a a little high when eating. And parking is a challenge especially on weekdays. The area desperately needs more venues like this.

Always a good time at the Governor for trivia Tuesday’s. Can always recommend the food on offer and house ale that is on tap at the bar

Great food and friendly atmosphere, plus plenty of beer options on tap. Parking in the vicinity is somewhat problematic but still a nice place to have lunch in the middle of the working day

Had a dinner reservation for two. Food was great although the menu could have a bit more varieties, the venue looks amazing, staff was super friendly and helpful! The rooftop bar very nice. I really appreciated all the little details about the design.

Service was good. We had a party of six people. Meals arrived in good time. The main meals were average with average prices. Sauces etc were add ons. The venue was decked out nice and modern.

Beautiful, brand-new venue. Lots of different areas for relaxing, drinking, eating, and entertainment. The staff are wonderful and management are so helpful and welcoming. The food is modern and delicious with inspirations from all over Asia and the Mediterranean. Food and drink moderately priced and no more expensive than you would expect for such a lovely place.

We had a good time, everything was tasty, sparkling, beer and pizza. The environment was great, a lot of people enjoying the friends trivia night

The food service is inconsistent. The food is very nice but wait times are inconsistent. Also the buzzer should not alert people that their food is ready if not all of the meals are ready. I have had better experiences at the Governor.

Great atmosphere and food. Limited parking which could be an issue but overall a great little pub/tavern. Look forward to going back and enjoying the rooftop bar.

Great atmosphere. Food quality was top notch. Good selection of gluten free meals and desserts. Staff were very professional and courteous. Will definitely will be going back. OMG the desserts.

There were no guidelines on menu about what time full menu started. We both had pizza and although they were tasty the topping could have been more generous. There was very little meat/ chicken on either pizza. There was also only one person taking drink and food orders. Our meal was ready within about 15 minutes. We made a booking but no one was around when we went to tell us which was our table so we just took one of the reserved ones. Perhaps a sign saying check in with bar staff would fix this. As no straws now provided and I ordered a mixed drink perhaps they need to think about how drink is prepared to ensure it is mixed properly.

Great new venue, superb styling, excellent food. Love the roof top bar. Very friendly staff and plenty of parking when we went on Saturday night.

The restaurant atmosphere felt a bit fancy but casual at the same time. The staff were friendly staff and the food came out fast and was delicious. The self service style of ordering and collecting food was a bit different but worked efficiently. Overall, a very pleasant experience and good for a first date.

Good vibe, big range of drinks, beers, wines and spirits, food's not too bad and service is excellent. Parking may be the the only downside, street may be best

Try the steak bowl, it's cooked to perfection every time and is my go to dish! Make sure to grab a cocktail. Which one? Any, you won't be disappointed.

Restraunt has a good range of food options and fairly priced. Venue has good vibes. Cocktails and jugs were very tasty. I will definitely be returning!

Lovely setting in the bistro. A first visit for me. Would be nice to have the option of sitting somewhere other than the middle of the trivia night for those not wanting to participate in the trivia. Looking forward to visiting ESS rooftop soon.

i booked a birthday dinner for our family for Sunday evening. We arrived half an hour early, and were seated at our table. We then decided to check out the roof top bar for a drink, and advised the waitress of our intentions, and that we would return before our initial booking time. When we returned to our table, she had given it up for another family, even though it wasn't even our original booking time yet! we were then squeezed into a booth where our 7 plates would not have fitted on the table. the rest of the evening was superb! roof top bar is awesome, but children should be allowed up there before a certain time or you will not get the numbers!

Awesome atmosphere and great food. The bar staff were pleasant and their service was quick. The venue was super clean and very funky. The menu was also great.

Good well priced meal. Good atmosphere for a Monday night. Venue is new and very welcoming. Will be back to try very soon maybe tomorrow.

The food at The Governor is delicious and the menu has good variety. The whole pub has a really nice vibe and the staff are great

The Restaurant and Food experience is great, quality is excellent, however parking in the area is an issue to be dealt with during business hours

I think there are way to many staff members, not doing enough, and telling me not to get certain cocktails because they are not good, your meant to be selling your lovely drinks not telling us to waste our money. Food on the roof top was great downstairs was dry and tasteless, I think the staff should be more qualified and less of them, got told I would get looked after on my birthday and never even got spoken to, slightly disappointed to be honest, overall the place is amazing and vibe is great but the service could have been better.

Food was great and well presented good selection although appeared to be strongly focussed on burgers. Slight stuff-up with the order but the staff sorted it out well. Will return.

Food was fabulous and generous. Best sweet potato chips we've had! Really lovely layout and amazing rooftop! Lots of different areas to choose from. Will definitely be back :)

My booking was at 1pm on Friday 7.9.18 - I was greeted warmly by a young man " I think his name is Clayton" He took me to my table, assisted me with taking my phone to charge. He informed well. The staff made the experience great. We will be back. Mainly due to the manner in which I and my team were greeted by this warm, and gracious young man.

Staff were really friendly although food took a long time to arrive. Food was great value with a good wine list finished off at ‘ess’ for a cocktail

Food overpriced / average. Downstairs staff awesome (Main barman lacks zest for life however - even at 5pm). Decor beautiful but worlds most uncomfortable chairs.

We ate at the roof top offering. Food service was average, food was good, plenty of beverage variety, good ambiance. A good addition to Macquarie Park.

Food is very good. So is the ambiance. However, parking is horrific. Please provide more spaces or advise patrons on where is the best place to park if on-site parking is full.

GREAT decor, tasty food, excellence service, delightful atmosphere! We went for a work lunch and very much enjoyed the experience. Nice to have something of quality in the area.

Had a girls night at Ess, the rooftop bar at The Governor Hotel, last night. What a great spot. Very spacious with many different seating areas to suit your mood. Lovely atmosphere and nice to watch the sunset over the tree tops. Wednesday is Ladies' Night and we enjoyed our $9 cocktails and $1 dumplings plus the chicken nachos and pizza were good too. Very friendly, accommodating barman and staff. Can't fault it. Definitely coming back.

It was Fathers Day and we were sat on the rooftop, meaning we didn’t have access to the regular bistro menu or kids manus. Some consideration for the day would have improved the situation, including kids entertainment on the rooftop and a change of menu for the day. I asked the staff questions about this to which I only got “no’s” and “sorry” about. I walked in expecting to be seated inside, and the host said we could move there if we wanted to, but he suggested it would be busy and the rooftop was a good alternative. In fact, it was a terrible alternative and I walked away disappointed in Fathers Day. When asking the staff about what came with some meals, they needed to leave me to ask the chef, so clearly no one had a clue about the menu. I understand it’s a new establishment, but clearly more training and knowledge is required. The whole experience was poor, but I can see potential. Just don’t use the Rooftop for family events.. totally doesn’t cater for families. We visited the bistro as we were leaving and we all commented on what could have been a better Father’s Day lunch 😔

Great atmosphere! Awesome food and Tuesday night was a Trivia night and pack of people! the only issue was no one was available at the entrance to guide us to our booked table.

Excellent customer service by all staff members. Meal delicious - menu could be a litttle more extensive though. The decor and atmosphere was really nice. Drinks a little expensive.

The Food and Decor were great, coffee needed some work, but being a newly established venue, only time can improve this. The overall experience was good,we will be back again.

Great ambiance and helpful staff. They need to sort out bar service so that someone who just wants a beer or wine doesn’t have to wait while cocktails are being made. Food was good but pricey

Great venue to get together and meet with family. Location very convenient. Good service and thoroughly enjoyed delicious food. However, prices of food is expensive.

Great atmosphere and food was nice, only improvement would be table service for food. Don’t mind ordering at cashier but having to get food as well just puts a halt to conversation within big group of friends.

Extremely disappointed! We booked the bistro for Father’s Day and were seated on the rooftop. Weren’t allowed to order from kids menu for my children!

Very good atmosphere and very good friendly service. Meals were delicious but a bit pricey although there is a range so you have options re price and food type.

Great lunch for the bosses birthday! Staff are always attentive and food is always great. Shout out to Greg for always taking care of the team.
