First Visit - Excellent value for money with the Wednesday night steak special and very friendly staff. Great location to just relax on the couch while you wait for friends! Good value Happy hour as well after work!!!
Wonderful food, service, and all round vibe as always. The staff are all lovely. It is very consistent and at a very central location. Everything was fantastic. Couldn’t fault it.
Great service ans tasty dishes. I had barramundi which was cooked perfectly. My friend had lobster ravioli which was delicious. We would definitely come back.
Portuguese chicken is yummy. I will recommend people to have this. Staff are nice. However the chocolate cheese cake is more like a moouse so disappointed
We were a group of six, and we all very happy about their food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend to any type of occasions. Above all it’s reasonable!!
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Great location and lovely sandstone building. The prices are a bit expensive if you want a main meal which isn't on the specials board. If however you go for the $10 specials then it's very well priced. Good place to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.
It was a really good experience. There were 5 of us and we had great food and could converse nicely between ourselves. It was great
Great pre Christmas lunch, food and service were great. would highly recommend particular for time poor hospital workers, very speedy service great atmosphere good time was had by all.
A great location with good transport nearby. There was a selection of a la carte or a good range of tapas dishes to share. Staff were very helpful. The wine and cocktail selections were very adequate. We enjoyed it.
Nice place. Service a little slow (visited for Sunday lunch) and kid’s menu limited (need an alternative to chips and need not to be salted). Waitress seemed flustered and didn’t receive the dessert. Worth the midday $10 special for the steak.
Great place! Great staff! Terrific service! Terrific menu! Best place for a kick back with friends without the hassle of pretentious service or customer attitude. Lunch or dinner is always fun because the atmosphere is right.
Enjoyed the dinner and pre dinner drinks at happy hour prices. The ambiance of the old world charm is a bonus. The service was excellent.
Lovely food and happy hour was great! Menu has great gluten free options amd staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go there again to restaurant and bar!
Atmosphere was nice, service was ok. Steak meals were nice but lamb shanks were really tough. Would go again but stick to steak. Good location
Nice local, downstairs was busy and noisy but we were seated upstairs which was nice. Food and service was great. A great local. Good service
Great service and excellent food! We got seated upstairs which was much quieter for our group (so we could at least have a conversation!) The food came out quite quickly and recommend the chocolate mousse cake dessert. Thanks for a great evening.
Great cocktail list and good wine, I liked the simple wine menu. Truffles Mac & Cheese is delicious! Fritters were a bit dry. Not sure what the dips were but I've of them was tasty. Service could be improved.
Went to the Courthouse for a Sunday Roast. The atmosphere was busy, with live music. Took a while to be served too even though there weren’t that many people eating. The food was ok - plenty of roast lamb with some gravy, a Yorkshire pudding, a small portion of veg (I think they need to serve more veg) but the worst part was they didn’t serve roast potatoes!! That needs to change.
The upstairs restaurant was nicely decorated and the staff attentive, however some items on the tapas menu were not available which was disappointing. Wine list was limited and the Riesling we preferred was also out of stock.
Always a great meal and atmosphere at The Cookhouse. Good for large groups, tasty tapas and great cocktails. It is a local crowd favourite. Cheers
Helpful staff and nice atmosphere. When one of the dishes came out incorrect, there were apologies and we weren’t charged for the replacement. Mistakes happen but how it was dealt with was what counted. Food was good, I’d definitely return.
Excellent lunch value - best in the area. The service, which used to be slow in recent years, seems to have drastically improved. Great value for money.
Fabulous food and service. A real neighborhood gem. We had a fair bit of trouble finding on street parking, the is a parking station just up the road though.
The food and service were excellent. The portions were generous and very good value. Definitely a place I would go back again in the future.
Had a great experience at The Cookhouse for dinner. It has been the second night I've been here and will be back again. Food was great, there is a good selection of drinks and the service was good
lovely atmosphere , with a varied menu for both food and drinks. staff are very friendly and have entertainment on Sundays along with trivia during the week.
Ravioli was very nice. Service good. Only downside was that it was just a bit too loud for conversation. Volume was nearly at pub level.
Food and service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was also prompt as we were time limited. I will certainly be going back for lunch or dinner.
Hi, Our group of more than 20 all enjoyed a great send off for our colleague last night. The Cook House was the perfect spot - casual but room enough for us all to sit and a great mingling between areas. The food was terrific - quick service and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Many thanks to you all at The Cook House. Ali
The food was delicious and we were lucky to sit upstairs as it was quite noisy downstairs. The meals are a good size and we had a good time.
A very nice meal, we had a mix of tapas and mains. Quick cheerful service and a good choice of wines and beers, couldn’t ask for more
Nice restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Good wine and good choice of food. Excellent service. Good value for money. Would return there in the future. Tapas menu particularly enjoyable.
The staff was rude and not very cooperative when we sent back meat that was well-done rather than medium rare. The meat was very tough, and not enjoyable. They said it would take another 15 minutes to cook a new steak. The waitress also said she didn't think anything was wrong with the meat, although it was clearly well-done! We were not impressed with how they handled the situation. Although, they did apologies when we paid the bill and gave us $15 off the bill, so credit to them for doing that.
We had a great experience, great service, great food and great drinks. Will definitely come back again for dinner and drinks. Happy Hour seems very good as well
Excellent food, service and experience ;) The location is great for getting there on public transport and the range of food and drinks is great!
Really lovely meal and service. I recommend going for the tapas options! It would be nice if there were more vegetarian main meal options but the tapas options were excellent.
A great place - good food, nice ambience, good service & reasonable prices . What more could one ask for! Hope they go from strength to strength!
Great, friendly service, yummy food, and nice casual vibe! Good lunch deals, chilled-out happy hour. We've gone several times while visiting Sydney and never disappointed.
Great lunch time venue with excellent service and delicious fresh food, beautifully cooked and presented. Staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Lunch menu offers great value.
Great food. Perfect for lunch hour as food comes fast. Nice atmosphere. Close to work. Lots of food and drink options. Staff friendly. Thank you.
It was great - always great food and the service is friendly and helpful. The meals are big and the choices are big. Would recommend a visit here.
Great choice of food and drinks. Noise levels weren’t too bad. Had bread and dips to start, I thought the beetroot one was mixed together properly as there was a lump of cheese in it. ( not sure if it was beetroot and cheese, but couldn’t work out what else it would be). Overall good place to eat.
The restaurant was very warm and we had to ask for a window to be open. We got there at 6.45 only to see a sign saying they were closing at 8pm to close for monthly cleaning. Food and service was mediocre.
We had an excellent experience at The Cookhouse. The ambiance was great and festive. The food was very good and the service was good. We had a very enjoyable farewell dinner for our colleague.
The service was lovely. However the food was a bit average. Medium well steak came out looking like leather. I'm sure they would have fixed it but no time. Food was edible but more country pub than Sydney gastro pub.
staff were so lovely, very accommodating to us who had 3 children with prams and so many hand carriage. Food was very yummy with quite a good selection of kids meals and came pretty quick after ordering. Highly recommended for those parents who wants to meet up with their mates and bringing the kids in a pub like setting. Price is also very reasonable.
The Cookhouse has an awesome special on Wednesday nights. $14.50 for rump steak and chips and it tasted fantastic - medium rare - really good. Took a side of greens for $9 and that completed the meal - Dessert was superb too and the atmosphere and service excellent - Would recommend this restaurant - It is really great value for money and we had a very good experience overall. Thank you.
Excellent food. Entree serve maybe a little small but that’s because it was so delicious Service was a bit patchy but overall a very pleasant dining experience. Thanks. Would definitely do a return visit.
Lovely restaurant and bar. Great little tapas. Good for a romantic date but also perfect for after work drinks or catch up with mates. Hidden gem in Randwick Junction.
Food was nice but service was average, had to keep asking for everything, very reactive not proactive even though it wasn't that busy. Probably won't go again
