Excellent food and a wide variety to share. Great place for a birthday celebration and the staff made it a special occasion for everybody in my group.

I found this restaurant online and booked for Mother's day lunch. It didn't disappoint me. The food sensational, the service amazing. My family loved it. Also love the small gift given to all mothers on the day. Love it. Highly recommended.

I bookes a table for 4, we were seates on arrival super fast and greeted by very friendly staff. i thought the atmosphere was great, beautiful food and selection of vego/vegan options. Good value for money.

This is the best Asian/Thai Restaurant, i have ever been to. food is great, service is amazing. i would highly recommend it to any one looking for an amazing Thai restaurant experience. makes you feel as you are in the heart of Bangkok.

Good quick service and good food. The place was packed and I was expecting to wait for service but we certainly couldn't complain, the service was good. The only thing I didn't like was the noise with the room being so full.

Thai Pathong's Banquet menu is truly great value. Good fresh food and very polite and efficient staff. the real big plus is that they allow BYO (wine "only") at a very reasonable corkage fee. Good food accompanied by really good wine. What more can you want. A good time was had by all.

Firstly let me start off by saying I can see why this restaurant is Sydneys Best Thai Restaurant. This place is simply amazing. Right from the booking online process through to entering the restaurant and being greeted promptly by passionate staff who obviously enjoy what they are doing. Then having waitstaff who are absolutely fantastic in providing customer service that is rarely seen these days. The food! Well nothing short of truly authentic tasty Thai dishes. Fresh ingredients and each dish packed with so much flavor I thought I was in Phuket enjoying my meal. This is my first time at this restaurant and I can assure you it will not be my last. The ambience is just perfect. Management should be very proud of themselves as they have perfected a truly spectacular dining experience from start to finish. I always end my reviews with a question and that is would I return for another meal? Answer is a definite YES!!Five stars 100%

I enjoyed my experience at Thai Pothong. Prior to my booking, my party and I were running late, but with a simple phone call they were able to assure my reservation. The service and professionalism among the staff members and waiters was outstanding. I really appreciated how alert they were by noticing the little and subtle calls of attention from customers and guest, such as myself, despite the loud but vibrant atmosphere and busy environment. It made me feel valued and respected. The food was cooked to perfection. My only quarrel to the dishes that I had was the heightened spiciness from the selection I ordered, more spicy than other Thai places and more than what I'm used to. But even then, I can't fault the very nature of Thai food. If you're searching for authenticity accompanied with excellence in service, Thai Pothong Newtown is your next dinner destination.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The service was excellent and food were amazing. We ordered a variety of entrees and main dishes for a table of ten and everyone was pleased with the dishes. I had chili tofu for main dish and loved the spicy flavor. Will definitely be back !!

The food is incredible (the crispy pork belly is a must!) Thai Pothong staff are beyond helpful and polite and so lovely it is always a pleasure to go there.

There were 4 of us. Every dish we ordered was delicious and staff attentive, polite and excellent. Absolutely beautiful restaurant with bustling atmosphere. We recommend going in a smaller group if you expect to converse with the people you're with, in this celebratory and happy restaurant.

Excellent service and the food was delicious. We had a banquet for 8 people and while we were waiting for others, the waiters brought some snacks to tie us over. Very courteous and attentive waiters. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic ambience, the golden Thai artefacts create a really special setting. The staff, as always, were super efficient, friendly and contributed to the feeling of authentic Thai. But the food was the winner - absolutely sensational. A wonderful, wonderful night out.

Awesome food, great service, amazing value - will without doubt be recommending! We even got a nice gift to take away at the end from the gift shop as we'd earned some Thai Pothong dollars as we'd paid in cash. Well worth a visit.

The whole group of eleven felt that it was excellent food and quick table service. We expected the servings of food to be larger, however.

Food is very delicious and service is very good as well. They are kids friendly, there are some Ballones and drawing pens for the kids. Kids love this restaurant.

Excellent service, very attentive and friendly staff. The food was delicious, particularly the barramundi curry. Meals were a good size and hot and everything was brought out quickly. It is a large restaurant and can get rather noisy so I probably wouldn't recommend if you're wanting an intimate dinner date, otherwise the atmosphere is great and a lot of fun. Highly recommend :)

Very nice food! Slightly too crowded in the restaurant, and a little annoying that you have to wait for a table even with a reservation, but the mussaman lamb makes up for that!

Food and service were good but it was too loud for conversation. In a group of 5 there was always at least one of us that couldn't hear.
