The food was great and the gentleman that served us was polite, as well as the staff

Efficiently run with a large capacity for diners but the place hums along. Lovely warm obliging staff food that appears within minutes of ordering and BOY is it fresh flavoursome and all round delicious. Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Newtown!

As usual Thai Pothong was completely reliable, tastier than the usual Thai, more interesting menu items, very good value wine list, attentive service. Its a very big restaurant and is therefore not the place for an intimate meal being a tad too noisy. Nonetheless we could still clearly hear each other of the four of us. We had whole betel prawns, OCtopus, ginger snapper, Prawn Choo Chee and Chilli Chicken.

We always come here for special occasions and they never disappoint!!

The food was amazing, especially fried rice with crab meat; not too dried or not too oily. It is a good place for both casual meeting or fine dining; even it was packed but not too noisy to have a chat, totally happy with the place.

Food was nice & fresh but not thrilling. Never have we experienced so many birthdays in a restaurant than this place. I kid you not when there was at least a dozen times the staff were singing happy birthday 😂

This is our third time eating here. Each time the food is tasty with many vegetarian options. The service is excellent and the meals arrive quickly.

Your staff are amazing - so kind and welcoming I had friends from Perth and they were so impressed I always find it a bit too noisy to speak upstairs which can be a problem but we were down stairs and it was so great to be down there. Thankyou for a wonderful evening.

Make sure you book as this restaurant gets very busy, 10 out of 10 for table service, tasty and fabulous food, friendly staff, and food was served within 10 minutes of ordering. One happy customer, will be returning for another meal.
