Thai Pothong - Newtown

Fantastic experience. Staff could not have been treated any better - wonderful service. They are a credit to the restaurant and to Thailand. Food was beautiful - had the banquet and entrees were delicate and delicious. Wished this restaurant was in my home city. Highly recommended- thanks for a wonderful evening.

Fantastic service , the food was excellent as it was twenty years ago when we first went and reasonably priced . We will be back next time in Sydney.

The food quality at Thai Pothong is always excellent. It is a bustling and busy space, but the service is attentive. Our favourite dish was the Green Curry Chicken.

Service and Food are all above expectations. I think this is the best Thai resto I've ever eaten in Sydney. The food was served so fast.

Service is fabulous, staff are super friendly and the ambiance is great. It’s a really great spot to eat a quick and tasty meal after a movie at the Dendy but please remember to book in advance otherwise you might not get in.

We had banquet menu with tomyum soup. I usually find Thai food a bit salty and spicy but they were really great and staffs were super nice. Best thai restaurant in town!

Such a beautiful night! The service was on point and the food was absolutely stunning! Dining with two children, they were made to feel very special and included. I'm very glad there is a 6 star option. We'll definitely be back!!

As usual great food and great service. This time however noticed it a bit noisy. Probably best to ask for a quieter spot in future.

Really efficient staff and the food was delicious too. The restaurant itself was a bit noisy, but next time I’ll try to get a spot downstairs where the a dozen waiters weren’t singing Happy Birthday for a table every five minutes!

Great cocktails - try the refreshing Neo’s Cryp and Mango Sticky Rice - it was like dessert in a glass. Amazing flavours. Love the stuffed chicken wings, crispy Barramundi and duck salad. Worth a comeback.

Always awesome service and wonderful food at Thai Patong. Wonderful for the kids who are especially well looked after. Tremendous place for a family dinner.

Can’t say enough about how awesome this place is. The food is beyond excellent, the service is extremely friendly (when they got to know it’s our anniversary they even gave a small token) and overall our experience was exceptional.

I've visited Thai Pothong in Newtown on multiple occasions. Their food and service have been consistently incredible with every visit!! They're one of my favourite restaurants and I always recommend them to others.

From the moment you walk into Thai Pothong you are greeted with the spirit of Thailand, a smile and warm welcome. The staff are so friendly and accommodating as they unobtrusively buzz around the table catering to your needs, the food is fresh and very tasty with a wide selection, my favourite is the garlic and pepper whole snapper, after the meal wander through the gift shop to see a great selection of mementos from Thailand. Nick & his team are simply The Best! Thanks Thai Pothong, you never, ever, disappoint 😍

Booked this restaurant purely on reviews..... it was extremely busy when we arrived.... we were shown to our table quickly. Was a bit worried service would be slow but the staff were very efficient, professional and friendly. Impressive given how full they were. We ordered the set menu for 2..... seemed good value with a glass of wine... presentation was good and food tasty and well cooked.....everything was done in a timely manner and didn’t seem rushed.... great experience, would go again and definitely recommend.

Good place with great vibes, good food and decent service. Disappointed that we booked a table for 4 and had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. Restaurant while nicely organised and great aesthetic feel, it was cramped and very loud.
