Thai Pothong - Newtown

We really enjoy some delicious dishes there. This is a beautiful restaurant with great staff and good value!! Nothing can go wrong with this place.

This was my 6th visit to the restaurant. They never failed to impress me. Service was amazing as always. We alsp received a complimentary house wine.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and attentive service! Consistent every time. Thai Pothong would have to be one of the best Thai dining experiences in Sydney.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner on Saturday night. It was very busy but we were seated in the new basement area which was more relaxed. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent.

Food is always great at Thai Pothong. Service: depends on the day/person. Most of the waitstaff are friendly and helpful. But it’s always good to celebrate birthdays here :-)

I haven't been to this restaurant until recently and they placed us at a nice table by the window, service was really fast and efficient and the food was fantastic. We had the Red Curry Duck and Chili Basil Barramundi along with Mojitos and it was a great atmosphere and experience. I would recommend this to anyone checking out the Newtown area.

We went to dinner for my daughter’s 5th birthday. Wait staff made her feel so special! She loved being sung happy birthday and took home presents and balloons from the restaurant. They were very generous. My son has asked to return for his birthday as well! Of course the food was also delicious.

curry tastes okay but not creamy enough. food comes in a large quantity. good dining environment and good cuisine. not very caring service. poor-quality rice.

From the extensive menue we picked our favourite dishes and we were not disappointed; excellent as usual! The service was impecable and friendly. It was another great experience at Thai Pothong.

Great atmosphere, good food, always busy and there’s a good reason why! Make sure you book a table though, especially on the weekends! Dishes are not too pricey either

We loved the amazing food. We asked for a Barramundi fillet dish which is not on the menu and got it. Beautiful flavour. Betel leaf prawns as an entree. Sooo good. The staff are extremely friendly and helpul.

Great Thai food, and impeccable service. Despite being a very busy and large restaurant the meals came out promptly, wait staff were very attentive and was a nice atmosphere.

Exceptional! Food is fresh skilfully prepared and very well presented. We had chicken and crab for entrees, followed up by duck and pork for mains. Service is attentive, friendly and very polite.

I can never fault Thai Pothong - the food, the service and the restaurant decor are all first-class! My two children and I all thoroughly enjoyed an early, mid-week dinner and we couldn't have been looked after any better.

Best Thai food in Sydney. I recommend this as the food is great and the customer service is fantastic. It is a very busy restaurant but you are never kept waiting for long. The food is super fresh and presentation tops. I suggest making a reservation as it gets very busy.

Attentive service, sumptuous food, happy atmosphere. Located near the Newtown Station it is an easy place to meet up with friends. The menu is extensive with something for all diets - meatasuarus, vegetarian and vegan and tastes from fresh and cool to hot and spicy and everything in between. The barramundi salad is especially succulent and good, I have had it many many times and everytime it is a home run.

I like the food at Thai Pothong, really delicious and fresh. Really good services, I enjoyed the very nice time with my family and will come again soon!

Delicious. Service is always great and we all ordered a curry. The curry is a must. So much flavour and i absolutely love the vegetarian options. Will be back many times.
