Tao Dumplings - Camberwell

Food great, service terrible. The staff (all females) appeared to deliberately ignore diners requests for service. They never looked over the room to see if anyone needed their assistance, we had to stand up and nearly do a jig to get their attention. The head girl was very involved with a conversation with a friend (not staff) and did not raise her head from this extremely long conversation. The only time we got attention was when we were leaving and all of a sudden there were three of them to clean our table. Pick up you act girls. Tao is a great place to visit but no one wants the stress of bad service.

Very popular place that is always packed. Great food and atmosphere. Reasonable prices

This is great venue. Noisy but not too much. Staff are great. Atmosphere bubbly. No wonder it is always full. They have the right formula.

Love the food here - the satay beef is so tasty and the calamari is amazing! Dumplings are heaven too. And all at such reasonable prices.

We have been there twice. Both times the aircons upstairs are set too high, too cold. Staff can’t adjust it! Can’t complain about the food.

Great dumplings for an excellent price. Good parking near by. The steamed prawn dumplings are very good. I have been there many times and would recommend to anyone who likes dumplings.

Food was very tasty but service was very slow and tedious to get staff attention, main course came out in dribs and drabs, first bit cold by the time the rice and other bits came out. Very noisy....

Some of the best dumplings i’ve ever had outside of Box Hill! The whole restaurant had a nice feel to it and was nicely decorated. The only thing that wasn’t good was that I had booked and got there and they didn’t have my booking. They then asked us to be finished in an hour (which we could do) but then only gave us drinks menus and not food menus (we waited about 20 minutes for them to give us some). Other than that Tao Dumplings was so yummy and I will definitely be back!!

A neighbourhood gem...always very very busy, great food, good service and a fun atmosphere. Will definitely become one our regular places to eat. Well done to everyone.

Tasty food and good food options. My only criticisms were slow customer service and the restaurant temperature being too hot. Otherwise a very enjoyable meal.

We love this place it is a regular visit for our family. The dumplings are amazing. Fast service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend one day we might even try something other than the dumplings.

Food was excellent and the service was great too! The decor is inviting and has a really great ambience inside. I had the veg dumplings and deep fried bean curd with spices. Will definitely be back for more!

Fast and Great food with good service . 5% discount if paid by cash - great idea. Shouldn’t charge for takeaway box though. Will go again.

Having reserved a spot, we got to skip the queue and had a table straight away. The food was delicious and did not take very long to come.

Great food, great menu selections! Food was out on our table within 10 minutes of ordering and serving sizes were perfect. Highly recommend for anyone who is in the area!

WAITED OVER 40 MINUTES BETWEEN MAINS. THEY MISPLACED OUR ORDER . NOT UP TO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES. OTHERWISE FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND REASONABLY PRICED. WILL BE GOING BACK TO GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE.

I had a great meal and a really good time at the restaurant until I tried to cash my $15 voucher. The manager was very nice about it, but it did seem that he did not know about the promotion. I felt very awkward and embarrassed by the incident.

Tao's offers very appetising food at a very reasonable price. Staff are very pleasant and the service is very prompt. Definitely, good value for money!

We booked a table downstairs as a diner couldn’t negotiate stairs but they didn’t read the request which resulted in a 35 min wait. The food was delicious as usual

The 'skin' of the dumpling is a little thick and not looking well wrapped. the sauce inside the 'Sio loong' pau was not too tasty as it lacked 'bite' and flavour

Service slow. Much shouting of guy behind counter at staff. Entree only warm. Main very slow to come out - had to ask three different staff. No feedback from staff about what was going on

Very busy for a Wed night, barely any spare tables to be seen. with prompt food service once ordered. Great Peking Duck plus a tasty range of dumplings.
