Great food. Staff were lovely but were too busy. Had to waive or go and get someone if we wanted more drinks - table never really got cleared.

I have eaten here many times and it has never disappointed! I tried a few items I haven’t had before and the vege tofu Japanese curry was so good!

Food was fresh and delivous, especially the sashimi. The staff very attentive. efficient and friendly. Great ambience in the restaurant I actually feltthat I was back in Japan.

Fantastic food, great service, lovely ambience. Only small fault was the Japanese Slipper Cocktail which was awful, and not properly made. On the flip side the Lychee cider was great. We will definitely be going back and recommending to others, as overall its fantastic.

It was absolutely great, just closed a bit early. Before 10pm. Got the impression they wanted us to leave as they turned the music off etc. Otherwise great.

Great food with good selection for vegetarians too. A good choice of wines and cocktails as well. Unfortunately it seems almost every time I visit, they will miss putting an order through and we either cancel it or have to wait for the missed dish long after the other dishes have arrived.

Great vibe! Has amazing food, especially the tapas. My family who travelled around Japan said that it is definitely on par with the local food there!

Staff very friendly and attentive. Good food however was more expensive than we were expecting. My husband says the sushi sashimi was some of the best that he has had. Overall enjoyable evening

Took us 40 minutes for the staff to take our food order so we decided to eat somewhere else. The waiting staff were very stressed and were rushing frantically.

We had a heavily pregnant guest with us and were originally allocated a recessed table. The staff were incredibly accommodating and happily moved us to the more regular tables in the back room. The food was amazing as always. Thanks.

service has gone downhill with new management (i assume new management). also i made a note to be placed in the front room however was still seated in back section. very loud and uncomfortable in there. My favourite oyster dish the Shinwa Oyster is not the same as it used to be. This is the main reason i visit and thus i wont be back. Very sad to see how low the standard has become.

great staff, restaurant really busy and they accommodated our early arrival. Sashimi & yakitori tasty, pork cutlet curry also tasty but really salty. Okonomiyaki very true to Hiroshima style

It was fantastic- kids found feaps of options, Salmon was great, lots of really good quality food at a great price. Service was fast- and attentive. We came from Daylesford and was not dissapointed already planing the next vist well worth it for a relaxed feed with atmosphere- plenty to share and left feeling full.

Regular diner here. The food and service is excellent and authentically Japanese. Recommend the spicy chicken karaage, the eggplant with miso and definitely try the okonomiyaki.

Spectacular dinner in an authentic Japanese setting, Food was delicious and prepared quickly, staff were friendly and had great customer service and Shinwa has a great selection of authentic Japanese drinks. the Umeshu is my favourite. Thanks guys you have filled our night with delicious food and good memories.

Very good food and excellent range of vegetarian options and specials. We went at a busy time (8pm) so service was slow but very helpful and friendly.
