Ist time visit enjoyed the food and customer service is friendly

We were at this restaurant last winter for dinner, that time it was fully packed and people queuing for tables, but this winter, we were surprised that the restaurant was still empty at 5.45 pm, and we were the second customer sitting in the restaurant. Obviously, business has gone downhill tremendously. When we sat down to look at the menu, the waitress informed us that the Ipoh Koay Teow Soup, Steamed Chicken, Wanton Noodles, Har Mee were no longer available as they had been taken off the menu, so we are left to select from Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai, Fried Penang Noodles, Fried Mee Siam, Mee Goreng and the Curry Laksa. The choices have become very limited, which is a great disappointment. We are happy with the mains we had. We ordered the Ice Kacang for dessert but we are not happy with it. The big ice ball was put in the wrong size bowl, which was too small and the melted ice keep dripping off the bowl which is a waste. Also the ice ball was too hard and difficult to eat, we could hardly chisel the ice ball! And the ingredients for this dessert were lacking, there was very little evaporated milk, red bean, sweet corns…Overall $7.90 for this dessert is over-priced because it’s mainly shaved ice and nothing else! We will not order this again. I wish they could get rid of the crushed peanuts they sprinkled on top of the dessert as it doesn’t go with it at all. Overall the staff were very friendly. We left 1.5 hours later and the restaurant still has many empty tables. It’s difficult to stay afloat as Vic Park has got so many Asian restaurants to choose from.

Most of the dishes in the place are delicious. Staffs are very friendly, too!

We needed to be in and out in an hour for a concert. Place was too busy at the time to have a quick meal. Will go back when have more time to enjoy meal as the food is good.

Good food as always. It was quite busy, so there was a bit of a wait to order and for the food to arrive. The matcha chicken curry was quite over cooked. It must have been sitting in the pot for too long - The meat was quite grainy and the flavour in the meat wasn’t as good as usual. Overall though, the food was very good.

Five of us celebrated friend's birthday and we truly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the service, superb!

Two friends independently recommended Sedap Place, because of their Vegetarian Laksa that could be made vegan. When I ordered vegan laksa, I was informed that the laksa sauce contained either or both fish sauce and oyster sauce and could in no way be made vegan. I am very grateful that our helpful waitress was so switched on as to inform us thereof, but am concerned that this dish appears on the menu as ‘Vegetarian Laksa’ even though it contains seafood. People who call themselves vegetarian and eat seafood are not vegetarian, and they are creating confusion as to what is and isn’t. I ordered another dish from the vegetarian menu, but am unsure of the name - it might have been Mee Siam (definitely ‘Siam’), and it was tangy and most delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend that dish. I’d also like to reiterate that our waitperson was very helpful and patient - thank you!

Excellent food with great service.Lot of vegetarians options with variety of malaysian flavours.

The food was delicious. The only downside was that our table was in the main walking thoroughfare from the kitchen, but overall it didn't disturb us too much.

Love this place but service could be a bit better.

I’m always greeted with a smile. It gets quite busy during lunch and dinner so be sure to book in advance. I recommend the fried chicken - so tastes!!

Nasi lemak with beef rendang was very good except the serving of rice was not adequate. A bigger serving of rice would be just nice. The laksa was good.

Inadequate service. Had to keep asking about drinks. Food (which was good) took a long time to arrive and came in bits and pieces which is no good when dining in a group. More staff required.

Sooo tasty(the best ever)coconut rice with Macha chicken currry, fluffy, hand made roti canai Dahl & fish curry gravy with added extra beef Rendang enjoyed very much.

Loved the friendliness of the staff who were welcoming, efficient , fast and always accommodating. Food presented well. Must admire the cooks for getting food out so quickly. My table - 4 non vego enjoyed their food.. I liked the vego selection on the menu. Would go again any time. highly recommended.

Great atmosphere. The wait time for the waiter to take our order was just a tad bit longer. Seemed to be the only waiter working that afternoon; juggling between serving up the orders, welcoming the diners, cleaning up and taking orders. He did well!

The broth for the curry laksa was too thick, had too much turmeric and too salty
