Restaurant Moon

The staff are lovely and friendly. The food was very good but not as good as at my favourite Thai restaurant. The menu at lunchtime is limited compared to the evening menu but having said that, I am very grateful they are open for lunch and the pad thai was delicious!

Food was very tasty and delicious. Affordable Thai spot in Darlinghurst. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. Great for a weekday dinner with friends if you live in the area.

My friends and I had a lovely dining experience at Restaurant Moon. The food was authentic, but slightly on the pricey side. The food service was good too.

Good food. Funny names all to do with the moon. Service was good. Funny diners instagramming all worthy dishes. Parking is not too bad although only one hour.

Moon had beautiful food and the service was great! The pork hock and duck curry dishes were beautiful. The Japanese whisky was sensational. Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the food, the service was good, but it was the more ‘humble’ dishes that were the most delicious (eg. the silken tofu dish was superb).

Spectacular Thai food, dark moody atmosphere, great service. A new Darlinghurst gem at a familiar spot! Pork belly was to die for and the Black Moon cocktail was amazing!

Great food but the service was not good. Forgot about our mains. Slow presentation of food. Had to ask twice for water to be filled.

Friendly and professional service. Nice fit out and great food. Some of the chairs don't have backs but apparently will all be changed over to the more comfortable supporting backed seats in the next week which is good to hear. Acoustic panelling could perhaps help with noise levels during busy times in the space.

After the 14/20 review by Terry Durack, we went there with a good amount of anticipation, only to be very disappointed. First, of all, we booked for lunch. I guess Mr. Durack went for dinner, when the menu is far more extensive. At lunchtime, the menu is very limited, basically noodles and rice bowls. However, the plating was better than your usual Thai restaurant. The small plates looked interesting, and when we asked if we could try the betel leaves, we were told it was only available for dinner. And there were only 3 of us in the restaurant! The service was slow and quite amateurish. Would we go there again? Probably not, unless it were for dinner. Maybe.

So so great. The food is delicious and innovative. The oysters are a must, as is the crispy pancake. The service is faultless. It is casual professionalism at its best.

Amazing restaurant. High quality food and cocktails. Staff were very attentive and knowledgable. Would 100% visit again. I 'll be telling all my friends to experience this unique restaurant.

Loved the service and the food as did my wife. Will definitely go again for the beef ribs. I will be recommending it to all my friends.

Excellent food. Very interesting and above average Asian food. The service is good and friendly. Only drawback is that when the room is full, it can be noisy.

Lovely atmosphere,very intimate and secluded. Food was great; different compared with other Thai cuisine restaurants. Distinct menu choices. Would come here again in the future.

Nice little restaurant with a modern interior. Food were great, definitely order the beef ribs as they were to die for. The pork hock and crab fried rice are the other go to dishes. However, the green curry was a fusion confusion. Some classics just do not require any reinvention, the nasturtiums don’t do it for me. Nasturtiums give a peppery/wasabi which gave the curry a weird flavour which it did not require. Service was not smooth.. with just the two of us in the restaurant, not attentive at all.

We had a fantastic time at Restaurant Moon, the food was all incredible and it was an enjoyable, cosy environment. Would 100% recommend to everyone.

I think this place is a hidden gem! Not many people know about it! It's quality Thai food with a modern twist. We ordered curry duck and 72 hr short rib and both were tasty! You cannot come to this restaurant without ordering the signature dessert, fly to the moon!

I went for lunch and ordered a Pad Thai. They had 5 large prawns in it which was awesome but my only criticism is that it was too spicy for me. It would be good if they put on the menu that there was spice in the dish as I struggled to get through it. I would eat there again though.

The special of truffle brioches were a treat. The amazing "Fly me to the Moon" desserts may sound complicated, but it is a sensation for the eye and the tastebuds. A lovely evening.

This is our second visit. We’re seated next to the entrance which we don’t really mind. The only problem we had is the seats are without back support which is not so pleasant after sitting for an hr or so. The winning dish is again the beef ribs just cooked beautifully. Pad Thai is still good but a bit spicier than our first visit. We also tried the zucchini pumpkin and Choux ruffle but they’re very average. For dessert we had the Fly me to the moon, an interesting chocolate dish but we still like the Panna cotta better.

Totally ‘over the moon’ The food was both authentic asian flavors with a twist. The combinations of smoking and slow cooking were a taste sensation. We enjoyed the prawns, pork and oysters dishes with a sparkly Prosecco. Our favorites were the Crab Fried Rice and Smoky Kingfish. Delicious! The service was friendly and intelligent explanation of menu. We were further impressed by the chef’s accommodation of our gf request. The decor was minimalist and comfortable which meant the food was the star. The blue budgie mural was as quirky little statement. We loved every mouthful. Thank you.

Brilliant modern Asian restaurant serving Thai food that packs in all the flavours and textures. A special mention must go to the dessert Fly Me To The Moon, which is superb and an essential order!

The food was very tasty but I think the servings for the main course (full moon ) were too large after an entree. The wines were first class and the attention good but maybe some of the waiting staff were a little too shy. The interior has been well thought out but just as when it was Onde the noise level is high.

Fantastic food, and friendly service. The surf and turf was brilliant and you have to try the dessert Fly me to the moon; so special!

Fantastic food, ambience and selection. The pork hock, egg pancake and salmon beetle leaf entree were all divine. Highly recommend the pork hock main. Wine list a little limited but the choice we made was terrific

The place is a bit noisy with the bad sound reflection. But the food is fantastic we love everything food-wise especially the dessert. We’ll be back!!

Each and every dish was amazing and extremely tasty. The wine list is very minimal and the Shiraz was not to the same standard as the food. Would have preferred a region other than Mudgee to choose from.

I think this restaurant is over priced with tiny servings and not great food. The $13 glass of prosecco was only 1/2 a glass and very average. The beef rib was way too fatty. The duck curry was good. Would I go back - No. Would I recommend it - No.

Excellent food and polite service-we loved it and hope to return-the duck and the beef rib were memorable and the two truffled specials were standouts

Limited lunch menu No better than neighbourhood Thai. Although the dinner menu looked like interesting eating. The restaurant is also freezing - I kept my winter coat on the entire time.

Beautiful, clean, tasty Asian fusion flavours. We enjoyed all the dishes and the service was great. We look forward to going back for more! :)

Simple food cooked well and at a very good price for a leisurely lunch. The restaurant was on the chilly side and the coffee could have been stronger for our liking.

The restaurant was beautiful. We were a small group of 4 friends and shared all our plates each dish was more delicious than the ones before. The service was good and we had a great experience

Really great food at a good price. Once it settles in, should be a good local favourite. The manager was really great, and was doing his best to cover the service across the restaurant. The two girls seemed very new and possible trainees. Not bad, just inexperienced. Would definitely go back
