Pistol Pete's Food & Blues

I thought it was overpriced, the quality, service and presentation were below standard. Comparing Pistol Pete's to a number of other restaurants in the James Street area, l wouldn't go there again.

Loved the food, service and atmosphere. Music was nice too, but not as good as the last time I had been there. The music was more rock than blues this time, so I was a bit disappointed.

Soft Shell Crab Poor Boy with a Mississippi Mess (that is chips with pulled pork) need I say more to get your attention to this local favourite?

Great food at reasonable prices and the service was great as well, the atmosphere and the crowd are always welcoming and the band was fantastic

Food was delicious, not quite the same as New Orleans but pretty close. Even had the same style as the restaurant in New Orleans. Highly recommend and we will come back.

Thought the Dinner was pretty cute loved the way it was all decked out!! A little disappointed with the food .. the Chicken burger didn’t have a lot of taste the crusty topping fell of the chicken and the Roll was very soggy chips were okay .. But I will go again and order something different

The food is always delicious and I love the range of cocktails available. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff greet you with a smile.

An intimate environment providing those lucky folks who do elect to attend with an up close and personal musical experience 6 days per week. The menu is comprised largely of Southern American fare complimented by a substantial range of beverages including some very tasty cocktails.

Amazing food, would of like few more options for vegetarians other than a burger. Would definitely be back again, would recommend. Great spot on a weekend

The food was an experience and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. I enjoyed the "surprise me" request for my first drink of their house speciality moonshine! Will definitely come back when next in town with a group and line up with some of their live music too.

it was a beautiful feed, maybe just put an item or 2 on the menu for kids too, we did order the kids a cheeseburger cut in 2, i didn't even think about the cajun fries, bit too spicy for them, but I loved them

Another great afternoon at Pistol Pete's. Buddy Knox playing for us, and the ever ready voodoo chicken munchies along with some Southern Bay Lager. As always, I will be back.

Great venue, really good basic food (most enjoyed). Loved the music with Fiona. However, there was definitely a Bogun(?) influence that overtook the dance floor and really spoiled what should have been a good night. As with a lot of venues these days, the "talkers" were a bit loud. Would love to say I will go there again, but.....

Love this place, food is amazing tasting, great value and drinks are great to - try the Cajun lemonade Had a bite of the chicken and waffles with candied bacon for the first time and for a dish that I'd written off as being way too heavy/bready it was surprisingly delicious! Order with a side of slaw too

We had a table of 4 and order 2 of the different share platters, and the chicken waffles. The food came out nice and quick and it was absolutely beautiful. It was plenty to share and we also got the trio of desserts. The atmosphere is great and would absolutely come back again.

The food was fast and at a good price. The staff are friendly. We have gone there many times and I'm sure we will go again.

A unique, authentic atmosphere you don’t find at many places in Geelong. Food was delicious and wait time was minimal even with a group of 6 people. Will definitely be back!

I had the Jambalaya - tasty but probably microwaved rather than fresh as it wasn’t consistently warm throughout. A bit slack for the price- $24. My friend enjoyed her Po’boy. The music was good but unable to be fully appreciated as it was way too loud for the small space and badly mixed - vocals were almost drowned out by the guitar and the drums were overbearing.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food comes out in a timely manner and is delicious. Great atmosphere in the restaurant feels very authentic.

We were seated near the entrance in the window area. The waiter kept going outside leaving the door open and it was freezing! The meals were nice but not wow

Great Southern comfort food, good blues music, everybody dancing and enjoying themselves.... What more can you ask for?! Excellent night out spot in Geelong. Would love to come back when we're in the neighbourhood.

Disappointing. Battered shrimp were over cooked (batter too dark & hard) & obviously not hand battered but from frozen packet. The ‘house made’ baked beans were clearly tinned with some liquid smoke added. Andouillette were actually mild chorizo, which tasted fine, but not expected. Pretty sure the pulled pork was also from a packet. Cornbread was SO disappointing, really dry & crumbly... probably also from frozen. French rosé was really nice though. Would go back again to taste the cocktails.

Our table tried Gumbo, Jumbalaya, pulled pork & southern fried chicken. Everything was fantastic. The service was friendly & fast. The music was fantastic and way beyond what we were expecting. Our favourite cocktail was the Hurricane. Oh! Did I mention the awesome music. 🎸

Always a great night at Pistol Pete’s. Great food, great live music. Always love the Southern Fried Chicken, Okra, and Corn Bread. The Gumbo is also a must try.

We had excellent Cajun food, followed by a world-class performance by Ben Waters on piano and three supporting musicians on sax, drums and bass/vocals. Unbeatable.

Good food, well priced with a good atmosphere. Would recommend any of the meals on the menu. Locally sourced beverages are a bonus. Rocking place

We really enjoy going to this restaurant with friends. Southern-American style food and drinks plus a vood wine selection and they have great music too!

You won't find a better place in Geelong for food, mussic, and a staff that really care about you. Pistol Pete's also very family friendly.

The food was all so fantastic! Funky atmosphere, will deffinately be back to try more of the menu. Great extensive booze list. The fried shrimp and chicken were amazing!
