Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The 26 dollar entree was stone cold when on the menu it said the bread would be warm, it tasted stale. The main dish was small and came out in a glass dish with napkins underneath it. Bad presentation. Extremely overpriced for what you get.

We had a lovely waitress. The food was excellent and the wine also

excellent service and food choices, noise levels and ventilation perhaps something to considerer especially when sitting 2nd level.

Best truffle pasta ever. Nothing else compares anywhere. Must try.

Really nice, felt fancy. Spoiled only by my food arriving just as my partner had finished theirs. Would be good if meals could arrive at the same time. Table position also made it difficult to catch the attention of wait staff - although we did have an excellent crotch level view of other patrons. 😬

Food is excellent. They are always quick to bring out the meal but you do have a bit of a wait to first order and if you want desert. It’s worth it for the food!

The Vegan food menu is amazing. Basically all imported Italian wines.

This is a great place - have been here a few times - but inmost recent visit, service experience was disappointing. Appears staff give preferential service to diners on the bar level - rather than the lower level near front windows. Waited an extraordinary long time between being seated - drink orders - meal orders, etc.. Couldn't get wait staff attention to get new drinks without leaving table and approaching bar or to hail them (which I hate doing). Then waited ,what seems like an eternity, to have plates cleared and dessert menus to arrive. Always love the food and ambience here - but service was not great this time round. Nevertheless, I'll still return as love the menu offering here and the pleasant atmosphere

Fantastic staff, fantastic food and fantasic cocktails. They offer the best vegan food in Australia. Vegan meatballs, calamari and lasagne a must haves.

Excellence. Presentation. Quality. An impressive place. My daughter has introduced me to vegan restaurants from Melbourne to New York. I vote this to be the best so far. No question.

8 to dinner for Son’s birthday dinner. Most of us are vegetarian. Good atmosphere. Pasta was very salty. Staff really nice and service was great.

Over priced and not worth it! The food here used to be delicious however we won’t be going back after last experience. Garlic bread had way too much garlic, we couldn’t eat it. Even complained twice to staff and they still left it on the bill. Also had to pour our own wine. If you are going to charge these prices, there is a certain expectation of level of service which just wasn’t there. Very disapppinted.

Rose, the waitress was charming and obliging despite being busy. Macaroni is the first restaurant I’ve found that offers an entire vegan menu and separately a FODMAP menu. That’s impressive. We quite enjoyed the main courses. The mussels were good and the seafood stew a pleasure. I found my lamb shank provided me with a meagre meal for the price but it tasted very pleasant. The desserts were really disappointing. The pastry on the tart tasted like flour and water and the pannacotta was the worst we’ve had anywhere, being more like gelatin than cream. The chocolate and almond mousse was more successful. On the whole we did not find our meals particularly good value and the service was a little slow but we might come back to try other main courses and to see Rose again.

My daughter took me there for my 69th birthday as she knew I love Italian food and I have heard very good comments about the restaurant. It totally met my expectations.

Great place to dine if you want an authentic Italian experience but are vegan and feel that you miss out. You don’t have to miss out here on the indulgence of cheese and pasta.

Food was great with lots of vegan options ,but the service was very inattentive. We had to flag someone down each time we wanted something. Even getting the bill took a long time. Had to interrupt a conversation to get salt.

Our second visit, again the food was great as with 2 vegans in our family group they provided great options for us all. Both times we have felt that we were intruding. The Italian woman who seemed to be running the place, could not have been less interested in us or our feedback. Although the food was good there was no atmosphere and it is quite pricey. They messed up a dessert order after asking several times about allergies and offered nothing as an apology. Not even a sorry! Probably won't bother again

Fantastic Sicilian based food front more recent migration. One of our favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Every course is delicious and especially the desserts are to die for.
