Oushou (Ohsho) Japanese - Hawthorn East

Very average food and service Not a truly “Japanese” experience

We ate at Ohsho to celebrate our daughter's birthday and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience excellent Japanese food and service.

Unfortunately the Tempura main dish we ordered was quite oily and looked as though it had been warmed under a grill as there were dark marks across the veggie pieces. We have eaten Japanese food in Australia and o/seas since the mid 70's and this was the worst Tempura we have ever had.

Best Japanese in Melbourne, I love coming here wouldn’t choose anywhere els for Japanese and great value not over priced

Love this restaurant! Although it is on the higher priced end of dining out, I always know the quality of the food will be fresh and delicious. I’ve never been disappointed with the food and I especially love the fresh Oysters!

Attentive and friendly staff. Agedashi tofu was prepared differently from other Japanese restaurants we frequent but we like it very much. Salad were fresh the way it should be. The mains we chose, black cod miso and Duck with blueberry sauce were a treat and the chilly tuna rolls a generous serve of 10pcs! We shall return.

We had the $54 banquet.. it was all very yummy but not plenty at all, the main course was only 3 tiny slices of salmon my husband was still hungry after all the dishes arrived, and the banquet did’t include dessert. The service was too slow as well... but again the food very yummy

Food was delicious at prices that are less expensive with comparable Japanese fine dining restaurants. Will definitely come back.
