Monk & Me

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years since we bought our first Entertainment Book and have never been disappointed in the food or service.

Use to dine here quite often, haven't been back for a while. Food is still good. We enjoyed the lohbak for entree, shared the King Ling Sum & Kung Po Chicken with coconut rice and finished off with sago pudding. Also in the entertainment book so we got a nice discount off the total bill.

The food was delicious and the service was really service. I went with three girlfriends and am taking my partner back again tonight for date night.

The service from refilling our water glasses constantly to asking if all was ok to quick service because we needed to get to a movie was excellent

Enjoyed the great and innovative menu. Lovely food and good service. Nice ambience. A local favourite for all occasions. We will be back for more duck.

The food is always excellent and served very promptly. The staff are polite and friendly and the tables are quickly cleaned. Our group of six who dine out each Wednesday evening have Monk & Me on our regular visit list.

The meal and service was average. Our booking was for 8.15pm and we had finished our main by 9.30pm. The staff began to clean up the restaurant while there were patrons still eating and ordering their desserts. They were noisey and unattentive, stacking glasses, tables on chairs, vacuuming and even moping floors in certain areas of the restaurant while we ate our desserts. No tea or coffee was offered even though it was part of our banquet. We left at 10.05pm on a Saturday night after paying. Suggest that they advertise their closing times clearly as it appears they do not wish to be open till late on Saturdays!. We considered their behavior rude. Will we return?. Probably not. There are other restaurants that have far better food, service and hospitality. Have eaten here on many occasions, but the service on this occasion was unacceptable.It appeared they didn't care and were more interested in setting up for the next day and getting an early night.

Delicious food Attentive wait staff but they cleared us out a bit too quickly at the end, I wasn't even done with my meal yet.

A little disappointed this time around. Lots of big noisy tables and the service was stretched with the dinner crowd. The tables were too small for 2 people as we wished to share plates and could not fit them on the table. The beef rendang was the highlight. Probably will not go again on a Saturday night.

Excellent as usual. The duck is always superb and the price great. Seafood also very good. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Malaysian style food.

We always enjoy our nights at Monk and Me. The service was friendly and prompt. We were surprised that the duck dish we ordered was cold however the beef dish was top shelf. A very enjoyable night in a convivial atmosphere.

The food taste is good, portion normal, value for money. Staff service is attentive and good. Surrounding atmosphere is nice. Plenty of parking available nearby.

The food was great but the service was a bit lacking. The staff were lovely when you had their attention and the price was very good.

If it's beautiful food and excellent service you are looking for don't look past monk and me they are excellent on both fronts and the price is more than reasonable

Monk and Me have excellent food with lots of gluten free options. They have very quick service which is great given their proximity to the cinemas.

The food was delicious, the beer was cold and the wait staff were pleasant and attentive. The BB King prawns were so delicious as was the Beef Rendang.

A Very quick service and delicious food! We had the scallop and prawn and vege stir fry and the char kwey Tao- very tasty indeed.

Menu is smallish but food was excellent - well presented, well seasoned and sizeable - will definitely be back Waiters were too attentive - but polite

Great authentic Asian style cuisine and friendly wait staff. Food served without having to wait too long. Good menu options with gluten free clearly marked.

Great service. Food consistently excellent and reasonably priced. Three of us had the chef special 'duck laksa' which was delicious. Would highly recommend this. Staff always very helpful. On a previous visit one of us was worried about laksa being too spicy. Immediately the wautress brought us a small dish of the broth to try before ordering. Last night the wine that we wanted to order was not available. Another one was recommended by the waiter and a glass was brough over to sample. Great service that is often lacking in a busy , casual dining venue! This restaurant is a regular destination for us, and many others it appears, before and after a movie at the Rivoli.

Very great food, customer service and overall ambience. However, the roti, which is a Malaysian food, was not genuine. Already planning a next visit and have recommended to friends.

Service was great and very efficient. Food was excellent. Very reasonably priced. It is byo wine. Plenty of parking nearby. Will definetly visit again soon.

A very disappointing meal. Asked whether the business had changed hands. Entree was fine but the main course of prawns & scallops was overwhelmed with cauliflower. They forgot our desert which had to be re ordered. We have been there many times before but won't hurry back again.

Full of flavour meals. Service excellent. Ambience subdued and welcoming. Very busy but not noisy. We enjoyed our evening. Would certainly return and recommend to others.

Good for a quick lunch, given the lunchtime specials, but service a little casual. Good range of food in the menu and not very expensive.

The food was delicious & the service was fast- The food arrived to our table within 10-15 minutes of ordering. The lighting was dim, providing a cosy & intimate atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!

Much better than expected. All dishes ordered calamari, sambal spinach, duck(exceptionally nice) , kapitan chicken were nice except for the chilli or curry beef which taste like veal?

Slow Service, food was mediocre Significant decline in the past 2 years. Used to be a local favorite but will head elsewhere from now on.

Easy booking, great food, including good gluten free selection, friendly and efficient staff. We went to the movies afterwards, and had plenty of time to get there.

M&Me had delicious food, great prices, and great service. Highly recommend it, and by the number of customers they had, so do a lot of other people!

Excellent food and service plus byo wine is a bonus!! The curries and stifrys were amazing with a great atmosphere to boot!! We will be back for sure!!

there was great service, the food was really delicious and it was hard to believe but the restaurant was not crowded or noisy. was a great place to catch up with a friend and be able to chat with out having to shout or compete with loud music or general noise.

Monk & Me served us delicious food as always with great service from all the staff the spicy calamari was my absolute favourite I will be back.

Disappointing. This has been a bit of a favourite for us for a number of years. Not sure what has happened but the service was noticeably poorer, and the food was nothing like what we have had in the past.
