I did not like the dirty salt and pepper grinders on our table. I asked them to be removed. Also, a bowl given for shells was brownish and looked dirty too. Poor service by waitresses. We had to ask a few times to top up our glasses with tap water. One time we had to do it ourselves, because we could not get anyone to bring us a tap water jar. :(
Food was great and service was excellent, friendly warm and inviting. Will be back. Thank you to everyone.
We have dined several times and will do so again. Would love to see some cooked fish offered though
Good experience will visit again soon. Food good and great selection
We are regular customers and love it! We keep coming back!
I’ve gone there for years and loved it but was disappointed today. The food was look warm , good selection and the honey was straight from honey straight from bee hive was delicious. The ambience is pleasant but disappointed in quality of hot food.
Excellent food and service, we also used valet parking this visit, which was so much easier. Thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon that my mother will remember, celebrating her 80th with you today.
It was a pleasant visit. I didnt think the variety of food was as good as the last time we visited.
Great place. Food was generally good but the crab was over cooked and not really fresh
Thoroughly enjoyed the mid-week visit with less congestion in the Executive Lounge. Plus getting an upgrade in the room was another very pleasant surprise. The restaurant is always a bust place but was not concerned about the noise levels. I love the seafood that is always on offer in Melba. I've stayed at the hotel for many years and always have found the Langham/Sheraton an excellent place to stay.
Relaxing breakfast with views of the Yarra. We arrived early so the buffet was on the quiet side. Easy to explore and serve yourself
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating making our lunch a relaxing experience and enjoyable.
OK for a casual dining experience especially in a large group but a bit ordinary for a couple
Great food and great service- no complaints. Thank you so much
The food is amazing and there is an extensive drink list. Importantly, the food quality exceeded our expectation.
Melba is a good buffet restaurant in Melbourne City for all occasions.
The food quality is good and it is value for money.
Food was good if not exceptional. The staff were fantastic and
A lovely lunch to quietly celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary
My wife and I had a most enjoyable experience, with a great choice of superb cuisines in a relaxed atmosphere and with exceptional service.
Food is always great. Can’t get enough of the prawns and oysters.

Waitress was excellent staff was great tall gentleman in the Indian food section lacks people skills in general yes you have sea food but your pricing is getting away for what people actually eat
Can't wait to go back!! Cannot recommend this place enough. Love it!!
Went with family for lunch buffet. Great fresh sashimi, but could not take it ourselves, must ask, the amount is strictly limited per each request/plate (for example 4 small slices of tuna and 2 small slices of eel), so need to walk back and forth to get more, this feels not quite like a buffet. There was a nice and fresh tempura, but again could not take ourselves, must ask, it was limited to 1 per each request, then it was finished in about half an hour and not replenished. This also does not feel quite like a buffet that match the charge of $108 per person. Only few selection of dessert cakes and just 2 flavours of ice cream (vanilla and creamy strawberry, not the sorbet type). This seems quite a lack of quality and options on the dessert section. Overall, it's not bad. But I don't think it's a venua that I would choose again next time.
Delicious very good quality would highly recommend l. . .
Well displayed tasty food, cheerful capable service, delicious dining experience added to with a surprise small and appreciated gift offered in response to a detail given in our booking request. Of course we will visit again
Dessert selection of cakes all looked the same, not great.
Good selection of foods. Seafood was fresh and tasty. Excellent
Service was great. Food was nothing special. Wouldn't go again.
Food was good, but the service was lacking. Had the wave down staff to get service. They could definitely made more money in drinks if they bothered to find out if we wanted a refill of wine.
Service was very good, food great quality and drinks a bit expensive but great quality too.
Beautiful venue, decadent and fresh food, timely service, a bit on the pricey side but so lovely for a special occasion.
All the food was delicious, nice and fresh. Yummy! Definitely good value for money.
Staff are super friendly and professional, furnishings prob need an update, seafood was fresh and food was of good quality.
Not much choice for kids but otherwise food was good. Wait staff very friendly
Everything was absolutely delicious but we had to wait AGES for our coffee because apparently the barista hadn’t turned up ... ? I was very confused. The waiter said it was out of his control.
Good food, good environment and good service. Will definitely be back again
Awesome food ! Fantastic service ! Best buffet in Melbourne.
I felt the standard has dropped nd the price is too high... where is the lobster nite?.. the oyster is small, doesnt look appetizing, the urchin is black in color nd the conchshell meat is frozen, the wagyu grill is tough.... All this is at the new 8pm sitting... I won't be coming at all now, very disappointed, conservatory here i come!!
The staff and service waiters were excellent in taking off the plates from the table during buffet service. I think the table was bit more smaller than my liking and the brand associated with the restaurant. The reason for my rating is that I was disappointed due to less number of options in the mains. Appetizers and deserts were awesome. There could be more breads and bit less of Indian (though i am Indian) and more of other main dishes. I am comparing it with my buffet at Steigenberger Hotel and they were truly international in their cuisine with variety. I think Langham/Melba can offer more being in the center of the most liveable city. And hey I Loved the duck wrap. keep that up!!!
We dine here when we fly in fly out from the Gold Coast, our regular restaurant, they had some new staff changes and this time it just missed the beat, but as always food, view, location amazing.
the staff were fantastic, and I especially appreciated having somewhere to store the present. I loved where you placed us away from lots of other people so we could talk. We all had a lovely time.
I took 7 of my friends and only one had been before and they all enjoy ed it very much
Full of birthday celebrations .. big three and four generation family lunches were popular. Something for everyone on the buffet , lovely views, excellent service, and the maitre d' was exceptionally good.
Amazing all round, made a little cake with a candle for a birthday at request which was very nice
Gone downhill bigtime. Had vegetarian Indian, only 2 options, which were luke warm, runny and very unappetising. Vege pasta options very average. No tongs to use on many foods. Desserts, could not believe only a few little bite size cakes which all tasted exactly the same! Table service was appalling. Not attentive at all. Dirty plates just left for ages before removing. Waiter wanted to leave used unclean cutlery between our courses, no clean napkins offered when it was clear one was used to mop up spilt water on table. They need higher tables as they are far too low making it a very uncomfortable experience to try and sit and eat. You have to bend over and down too far towards table. Waiter didn’t once come to our table to top up drinks. Felt like I was at the old “Coles cafe “ experience of the 60’s with all the banging and crashing of plates being cleaned up. No respect for other diners still there. Was told lunch was till 3pm, yet was asked at 2.30 whether we still wanted anymore food as they wanted to close up right then and there! The whole dining experience from start to finish was very poor. We were also staying the night in the hotel, so called for room service at approx 10pm after coming home from seeing a theatre show. That food was hotter and more appealing and waiter service plus table setup was better than the Melba experience. Will never go back to the Melba to eat ever again. The last 3 times it has slowly gone downhill each visit. The cost cutting is very noticeable. Those 3 times were an effort to try and see if things had picked up. No they hadn’t . Only got worse each time. Wont be back. Very disappointed. P.S. After our first Melba visit many years ago, we recommended to friends as it was so nice. They went and they told us that food was cold, meat tough and hardly anything on offer. Melba, pick up your act. The price you charge for lunch deserves a better dining experience. The Crown Conservatory wins hands down.
Great selection of fresh seafood and Japanese sashimi. Love the desserts.
very good lots of food to try will visit again
Fantastic as usual clean, lovely variety . Coming back !
Great selection of food. Everyone in the family could find something to enjoy.
