We just loved the food & the atmosphere! It was perfect place to celebrate our anniversary!
Delicious food with great variety, excellent service and Covid safe restaurant
Delicious food and setvice. We have been celebrating many occasions at Melba since 2016. Its an expensive experience but worth every penny.
We had to ask for water and then they were never refilled. Also had to ask for our drinks orders to be taken twice. Clearing of used crockery was at times slow and then at others had just put our cutlery down and the staff were taking the plates away. Please that chefs were serving, however several times the cheeses, cold meats and salad station and the desserts station were unmanned and diners were helping themselves. Overall however it was a pleasant night.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the buffet menu was extremely disappointing and a waste of time and money. No nut free or gluten free options were provided.
Good quality food and service. High recommend. Will visit again.
All good thank you. We really enjoyed the time this afternoon.
The restaurant was less than 50% full and so noise was well down on my previous visits. The range of food was good but not as comprehensive as it was prior to the impact of corona on the buffet arrangements.
It was absolutely disappointed and very awkward bad experience. To start with, they couldn't find the booking and were seemed surprised about it even showing them the confirmation People standing close to each other queueing for more than 1/2h waiting to be seated. Not enough staff, the dishes never came, that's an absolute rip off offering "buffet" for $139pp on a Sat night you expect quality and good service in 5 star hotel but it was a joke. My daughters main never came, she so upset that she decided that she wanted to leave, so any attempt of celebration was. my husband waited for 45 Min for his main but is the most unappealing non appetising Indian food we have ever seen. Roast pork was dry and tasteless. No to talk about Asian food, ramen never came and gyoza were not even like $5dish from food court. Desserts, another loooong wait, however my husband was still holding hopes on the Bombe Alaska flambe that never came after 10pm so we decided to leave. We held our marriage lunch at the Melba years back and had been there once more for the buffet style and the experience was outstanding. We do eat out quite a lot and we have eaten feasts for $50-$70 pp, when you are happy to pay more than 100-150 definitely you expect quality and good service and it had none. My husband made the choice of this restaurant over the Lobster cave because it meant family memories so unfortunately he didn't look at the bad recent reviews in TripAdvisor and everywhere else. Did we get discount? yes, but it wasn't about the money really. Some dollars less and "sorry about that"doesn't take back a bad experience and a celebration being spoilt. False advertising really and misleading information about what they offer and what we really get. 2h or 2.5h sitting with food never coming or staff unavailable to take orders, you get to barely access 1/4 of what they offer. For that price a manager should be visible ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Poor service due to being short handed. Dirty dishes everywhere. Buffet to table should have been scrapped and a set menu put in place. Food orders were forgotten or incorrect. The food looked as if it had been sitting for some time. To top it off, we were given pre squeezed lemon wedges with our seafood. I wonder where those came from. Anyway, you know things are bad when you see the upper management setting the tables.
We have been going to Melba’s for close to 10 years on my partners birthday. This year we did not enjoy the change set up, service was average and the luxe feeling ambiance was non existent.
perhaps personally I have been approached by a political party it was great place to be

Excellent customer service as usual Great variety Will be back
Great food, beautiful view and amazing staff. Will definitely go back there. 🤙🏾
Great food, atmosphere, and service for a reasonable price. Looking forward to coming again soon.
not worth the price we paying for, less food option. But the service is good
Been here previously and loved the buffet food. Buffet to table was a limited menu, small portion and quality was sadly below average.
amazing food, great experience. will definitely be going back again

Perfect spot for a birthday afternoon tea. Always a good experience.
The visit was enjoyable, they have implemented a new seating arrangement for social distancing and it was good to see that food was just as delicious as ever!
It was fairly quiet but staff were not as attentive regarding service water and further ordering needs.
Excellent service, huge range of tasty food. Bit expensive but worth it.
We are very happy with the overall service, staff very friendly and accommodating. Great variety and good quality fresh food. We will definitely come again.

My 70th birthday and a great had with my husband Thank you
I love Melba restaurant. From the moment you arrive the staff make you feel like you are the most important guest there. And the food is amazing. Fresh and tasty and beautifully presented.
The wine was not topped up frequently as part of my package, and we had to often get the waitresses attention for a refill.
Buffet dinner was mostly good but overshadowed by some elements that were unfortunately quite disappointing; unexpected for the price. Most disappointed by the pasta tonight. Linguine was grossly overcooked, and then subsequently tried the tortellini which was doughy and undercooked. Perhaps not Melba's usual standard but today has unfortunately left me with little reason to return.
All good. Everything great. Staff friendly. Food tasty and good quality
We eat here quite often. Unfortunately on this visit most of the hot food was luke warm. Service was poor.
We were disappointed at the Cost of $128 per person plus 10% surcharge for public holiday. It was our 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 9th March and were wanting to enjoy the Melba room where we have dined before but not expecting such a charge as we are pensioners
Noise levels, atmosphere & waiting times all very good. Service also quite good. The food itself was fair-to-OK, but lacked the quality & flavour you'd expect at $105 per person, hence value for money low
It was worth every cent ! Good variety of food
Disappointing. Last time we were there, the food was better - the variety of cheeses was of a higher standard and I didn’t have to ask for quince paste, the carvery wasn’t dry and the ice cream has not run out. There was no staff at the carvery counter and I was disappointed by the whole experience for the price charged.
The sushi section made us feel uncomfortable when asking a serving even though it was a buffet seating.
Excellent, efficient service. Truly superb breakfast buffet. Even those diners who loathe smorgasbords will love this. And an added surprise - the quality of coffee was superb. The superb views of the city skyline are the icing on the cake!
Very disappointed this time having been twice before. Whilst the service was good, the food quality was poor and at $105 per head, we were expecting top quality. Doubtful that we would return again.
I was expecting a high end experience And it was pretty average. Spent $700 and could have got better service elsewhere
Food was disappointing you should go to the conservatory and compare
Food was diverse and delicious. Staff are attentive and provide excellent service! Would definitely recommend
Been many times over many years. Food continues to be of high quality. Good selection of fresh seafood and sashimi. As was roast meat section.
Great service. I always come back here. Enjoy good atmosphere and nice food.
The food was great! The service was great as well, But In future I hope they include drinks and maybe some alcohol in the $118 per head package.
Food was absolutely beautiful, and deserts! But I was disappointed my baby’s meal was taken so soon before I’d finished feeding her. Babies take a while to eat, they may stop and want a break but then will eat more. As a single mum it’s hard enough feeding myself. I got my plate first and then had her pasta made. Before I could even taste my food I fed baby, she was not finished as she never rejected any. I come back to my table and her plate was gone! Also I wasn’t impressed how the candles were put on dads cake! I gave strict instructions upon entry where to put the numbered candles and just said to put the rest (longer candles) where ever. I was asked if all the long candles needed to be used, I said no but as long as there are some. The cake got brought out with only the numbers candles, and the 5 was crooked and not where I wanted them at all as it blocked the decorations on the cake when it came to taking photos. And there were no longer candles on the cake at all! I did not buy the longer candles for no reason, I especially didn’t bring them for no reason. I asked the waiter for plates and spoons and he said yes, they are all in there, hoping I’d say, that’s ok I will get them, but then he said but I will get you some and he did right away. At the end I asked for the box for the cake and told him if he has the longer silver candles and he said yes yes n brought them straight away. I’m very upset the cake wasn’t done how I asked at all! I would of happily done it myself had I know that. And I can’t blame our waiter, I’d say it was lack of communication from the staff that greeted us upon entry, to the waiter!! And very upset my babies pasta was taken. Unless a plate is clearly empty or clearly finished ie, oyster shells, prawn shells ect, all plates with food on them should be asked to be cleared, not just cleared. Apart from that he was a very good waiter, excellent service
Absolutely Awesome in every way, food is delish & felt like we were in Food Heaven & Staff are Exceptional with their service! Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I think for the price I expected the service to be better. We also go the free flowing wine on top of the buffet dinner, the Prosecco wasn't really cold, it was almost warm and we had to request top ups. Our waitress seemed a bit run off her feet. The seafood was pretty good
I love it here at Melba Brasserie much better than other competitors. It’s more quieter and lots of good fresh food and more gluten free options.
Only small issue. I arrived at 1:30 PM for lunch and by 2:30 PM kitchen was closed! So no hot food was served!
