I didn't realize I hade mistakenly booked for 6.30am instead of 6.30pm, however they were still very friendly and gracious enough to let us dine in regardless of the mistake I had made. While the service was impeccable, I was a bit disappointed with the variety, there was not enough! I was expecting for more choices, however, the taste of food and service did make up for it. Especially loved the sashimi bar.. It wasn't a big lack of variety or a big deal, I personally would have preferred more choices and I'm heading back to dine again, so yeah, go try it! :)
An excellent dinner and friendly staff. Celebrated our wedding day which was today! Staff were so accommodating and wished us congratulations. Loved the experience and service. Thank you!
Always love going to the Langham!! Fabulous food, lovely setting.
Food quality was great… Table service has improved since I was previously there. Overall, satisfied customer.
Well it was for a birthday dinner. We got there on time and was taken to our table yet we did not get the table that I requested (by the window table). Starting off sitting was awkward and back breaking, table was too low and chairs were too high so you had to bend you back a lot plus it didn’t go well with trying to digest your food either. Food was pretty average compared to a few years ago when I went. I think for the price was a bit high for what they had on the buffet. Service was good. So overall it wasn’t the best night I had, just pretty average.
Great food and service . We have been to Melba buffet many times and we will always come back on special occasions 😊
Father’s Day @ Melba is always amazing! The food is spectacular
Great night, excellent food, very busy when we went. Staff very attentive but not obtrusive.
Great view, delicious food, friendly staff. Will definitely come back
great food and good selection available. plenty of food. u will get full.
Second time dining at Melba. First time was disappointed, this time was tempted by the mothers day buffet menu. Turned up for lunch, half the items listed on the menu on their website was not available. It was a special menu designed for mothers day, it had no disclosure that items may be subject to availability or change. Service was attentive, food was OK (nothing amazing), but just disappointed buffet was not as advertised.
The price was inflated for Mother’s Day yet it appeared to be a normal buffet. Some things such as seafood, salads and entrees were excellent ( cold food) and some hot dishes such as Indian food was also excellently Rogan Josh. The lamb I had was a bit fatty but the verde sauce was good. I didn’t see any veg to go with dish. The Yorkshire puddings were hard and tough. The desserts were good but their display was a bit cafeteria like. I was underwhelmed on the whole as no special attention was made to the buffet area. There was a row of odd glass cages with random stuff in them on display eg a half dead Peace Lilly plant and one cage was empty. No idea what this was supposed to be. It just looked like abandoned stuff used to create a divider in the serving area. Did not look like a five star hotel. We enjoyed it as it was a joint Mother’s Day and 21st birthday celebration. Definitely not the standard I was expecting of a five star hotel. Nowhere to enjoy a pre-dinner drink after an early arrival. Sent us to a bar on the Southbank where I was given a flower and a free glass of Prosecco. Nothing special in the restaurant for Mother’s Day. When checking out I noticed a strange and scruffy looking display for Mother’s Day. Quite ugly and I don’t know what it was supposed to be. The Maître D tried to overcharge the cost of valet parking so I made him check out their website. He just didn’t know. I don’t think I would go again which is a great shame. The Langham needs to pay special attention to ensure the standard of what is expected of a five star hotel is maintained. The place needs an urgent refurbishment for a start. However the one saving grace I feel is the friendliness of the staff serving us. There are varying differences in the quality of hot and cold dishes. Display style is lacking completely to make food look attractive and non-cafeteria like.
Lovely view and staff were friendly. Fresh seafood and lots of varieties. You can also bring seafood to wok section for a stir fry. Not so much veggies though not a big concern to me.
Though there was a variety of selection, some areas was poorly presented, specifically Indian selection not much variety there, I have requested a Garlic naan to be made and was not the best. Seafood was good, friendly and helpful staff members.
Staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could move tables to another location. Not only is it a pleasure to dine but the service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend
Food was horrible. Not fresh. Service at the sushi counter was extremely poor.
It was an enjoyable evening, the service team were lovely, I think we would have had more drinks if asked, the sessions are definitely rushed on a Saturday which is understandable, overall, food was yummy, service was lovely and view was epic
Quality of the food and variety was okay. My expectations we high given the location but left fairly underwhelmed. Had to give it a go but in our opinion there are better places to go for that sort of money.
Food were very nice and plenty of choices. The atmosphere is very good. Overall for the price we paid, it is acceptable.
Food and service amazing. Stuffed but very happy with the overall experience.
was good, have been twice now and love it regardless
The staff were great. They came over at relevant times and assisted us with everything we needed. The food, unfortunately, wasn't as flavoursome as I expected. It was bland and unappetising. And the selection of sweets seemed limited, and certainly significantly reduced as compared to my past visits.
Best Buffet in Australia. I highly recommend it. It keeps getting better and better
Really enjoyable buffet, was very busy however food levels were kept high. Would recommended if you enjoy buffett
Melba is a restaurant that has a unique ambiance, with the decor being modern and comfortable. It’s an excellent place for tourists to enjoy the view of Melbourne, the Yarra river, the people in the boats and the daily buzz of our city. The buffet at Melba’s is one of the best in the world and the service is an exceptional one. Melba is an incredible experience and one that I would recommend to family and friends. I had my 30th Birthday at Melba’s and it was a memorable occasion.
The food is fresh, the staff are friendly and the environment is elegant.
Not much variety compared to other buffets. Lobsters did not have much lobster flavour. No one refilled our water or removed our food scraps for a long time. The atmosphere was nice and I highly recommend the sushi and crispy pork.
We were very disappointed with the entire evening it was to be a very special night and we were a little disappointed from the first contact understandable in this current health climate there are standards that have to be enforced but given the beautiful surrounds it was inappropriate to be herded up at the front door and given instructions as to how to act in the restaurant it was a bit off putting only to have people without their masks on walking around , also chipped crockery and the lack of service for drinks was also off putting we still enjoyed our night the food was very good but lack of any sort of dress standards was again disappointing thought we were in Darwin . Thank you though we had an enjoyable meal.
It was an very pleasant evening, Marg who was serving our table was very professional in her service and excellent attention to detail, well done we definitely come again 🥰
It was so nice going on a week day. It was quiet and the service was great.
Quite busy and very few people following covid safe protocols. Staff were doing their best but it was not being maintained.
Good spread of food though not as good as a few years ago. There’s a lot of variety in terms of seafood and sashimi though. Other hot foods are good but for what you pay there could be more options.
Food was good. Chairs are too big for tables making it hard to get in and out. Very noisy
brilliant, first time and really enjoyed the service and food
A delicious experience! The sashimi bar was a favourite with my group of friends along with the lobster and garlic cheese naan. $130 per person but we found that it was worth it. Would definitely come back!
Wonderful evening with friends, good choice of food and attentive staff
Overall the food was good. Thought would have more variety for a buffet.
Ate too much, food and wine were excellent! Staff were amazing!
Staff were friendly, the food was tasty...we'll definitely be back.
The food was delicious, staff were friendly, and overall it was a great experience
Amazing experience in a Covid safe way. Really Great food and service
Good environment and food so yummy. Nice staffs and good for gathering.
Seafood was very good with lots of option of Abalone , uni, octopus sashimi etc. I don’t recommend the hot food at all, it’s super dry. Only go there if you like seafood and sashimi
Went here for My fiancé’s birthday and the food quality was sooo good! They even arranged a cake for him for his birthday! Would come back again!
Two hours allocation time felt like a few things had to be rushed. It would be good if the time allocation was extended to allow people to relax and enjoy the time with their guests
Amazing ambience, food and service. Would recommend it to all
Great variety buffet. Always enough food for all although busy.
Food was okay. It was kept under the heating lamps for long periods due to less people dining. Lobster, for example was dry. Had to put a mask on every time we got up to get food and needed a staff member to serve us each time. The roast meats were nice as well as the sauces. The oysters were also top draw. We were given a nice little chocolate cake by the staff for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The dining chairs looked a little scratched and outdated. Overall, the restaurant tried their best during these tough times. If beer was included in the price, like some Asian buffets, I would definitely come back more regularly.
Very bad service. Not up to the Melba standards. P
Service and quality of food are excellent. I would love to recommend the Melba restaurant for entertaining or special occasions.
