Melba Restaurant

This is our second visit for Supper at Melba’s and it has gone down hill. It was great when they first introduced it - great range/variety of food and service standards was there. However it now feels like they are offering Supper for the sake of making a few extra bucks while their service staff clean up after dinner service/get ready the dining room for breakfast service. Food range has dwindled down to the bare minimum. The salad/antipasto section has shrank dramatically. The food sections were in a disarray. Not much thought was put into presentation or the customer experience. Serving spoon/thongs were missing on dishes and condiments at the stir fry noodle section. Miso soup was on offer but no soup spoons provided. I do give them a +1 for having proper bowls this time for the congee. Items on offer were not labelled properly. Was excited to see that they had beef brisket noodle on offer but when we asked for it, was advised that it was put out in error. And something else was on offer but the label tag was never put out on display. They had a veggie dim sum during our visit. It was as good as not having it there. Filled with frozen veggie and you were not able to take it without it sticking to the paper. Taste wise was just meh. Not hotel standards at all. Usually during other meal services and our last supper visit, there were cutleries available around the food area. This time there were none and the dessert section, the cutlery plate was there but was empty and no one seemed to care. The ice cream section was in a disarray as well. It looked like the just took the hot dessert item away and left everything else there. Service was more or less non existent. The server that brought us in Henry looked quite grumpy like he dnt care to be there at all. All through the night, we had to continually ask to get our water topped up, plates cleaned and replacement cutlery. The staff was just too busy cleaning and setting up the dining room to care about the guests that are there for supper. There was no care factor at all. We go to Melba a lot for dinner service and this was our second visit for supper and we were truly disappointed with our visit. Won’t be back for supper again ever and I think you are better off spending your money else where!

Excellent selection on desserts and wait staff were excellent. Catering for dietary concerns could be improved by asking guest at the start whilst being seated. Crown conservatory better caters for dietary concerns.

Limit food, expensive price. No lobster on the weekend. Not worth.

Very happy with friendly service and delicious food. Not happy about having to pay $47 for less then 2 hours of parking. Have been to other buffets in the area, and they offer a park voucher and free drink plus tea and coffee including in the price.

Great variety, delicious, fresh and made to order. It is pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

Loved my experience at Melba! It was my sisters birthday and they made us feel extra special and even had a gift. The food was incredible quality, the sushi bar and cheese section was my highlight!

there was construction going on at the restaurant which was extremely loud and distracting

There was renovations happening at the same time so hearing drills not great. But it was off for about 30mn. All up, very enjoyable.

It is a nice place to dine out with friends

We booked online and they were not ready for us at 11pm when our booking was made. We had to pay for drinks including sparkling water. The food was okay but it was nice people watching and seeing the kinds of people who were out and about at that time of night.

Food was not 100% we had the late sitting and a lot was finished, servers at the stalls were not there or busy cleaning up, would not do late sitting again

overall our visit was excellent will return again in near future .

Food was great during lunch, with discounted valet parking from 12 - 4pm. Service was good. Bub, wife and myself was happy to drop by today.

Good service good spread of food. Love my curry but unfortunately I don’t like lamb hence missed out on my curry

Our family was celebrating two birthdays and the birthday members were give a gift and birthday card. It was special to them. Also we had vegan / vegetarian dietary requirements and we were well catered for. Good service We will visit again , we are happy customers

It was good experience but the seating what we got it’s bit disappointing there are few seating near window are vacant but we got the corner seat I requested to change but been told that they are booked but they are not occupied whole night but overall it was good
